A little bit of Christmas after a hot August day...

The only problem with making Christmas cards is that I associate them with Christmas carols. So what is so bad about that? I have "Deck the Halls" stuck in my head now... and its repeating over and over and over again... fa la la la la... (hah... now you've caught it!). Moo-ha-ha.

Some quick notes: The layout was inspired by a sketch challenge that Beate Johns posted. The two toned look of the main image was created by inking the stamp with Purely Pomegranate ink and then rolling the edges of the stamp on the Bravo Burgundy classic ink pad. The technique is called "Rock and Roll."

Yes, there is the potential of contaminating the second ink pad with the first color... which is why I choose to ink first with a lighter color and then ink with the darker. I then cleaned the stamp and re-inked with Handsome Hunter and stamped a second image. I cut the snowflake out of the second image and adhered it to the first with a Stampin' dimensional. Gives the card a little extra oomph. :)
