Chocolate Chip & Soft Sky Again

One of my favorite color combos this Fall is to pair either Soft Sky or Blue Bayou with shades of brown (Close to Cocoa or Chocolate Chip). This combination always makes for a quick and easy color combination that can be used for masculine cards or a wintry scene.

Quick notes: card base is a 4 1/4" by 8 1/2" piece of Close to Cocoa folded in half. The Sanded background was inked with Chocolate Chip classic ink and then stamped on the cardbase. More Chocolate Chip ink was sponged on the edges. A 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Soft Sky Prints Designer paper was layered on a 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" piece of Blue Bayou and then the edges were sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. The handheld rectangle punch was used twice to create a slot on the left side of the card through which a couple pieces of ribbon were tied. Three brads were added to the bottom right to balance out the layout.

The reindeer from Merry & Bright was stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Black StazOn ink. The deer was colored with a Chocolate Chip Watercolor Wonder Crayon and a blender pen. A thin line of Liquid Applique was drawn around the deer's feet. To make the snow sparkly dust with Dazzling Diamonds glitter before heating with a Heat Tool. Heating makes the Liquid Applique expand and fluff out. Make sure to trim your cardstock before adding the Applique... yes, I learned that the hard way. Glitter was also added to the deer's antlers and the spots on its back. Next mount the deer on a larger piece of Chocolate Chip with Stampin' dimensionals, sponging and paper piercing the edges of the Chocolate Chip. Stamp the Merry & Bright sentiment on a scrap of Creamy Caramel, sponge the edges with Chocolate Chip and then adhere to the back of the Chocolate Chip cardstock. Assemble all layers together on the cardbase.
