Okay, maybe a whole lot of color! While looking at the Beate's latest Be Inspired Challenge sample I was captivated by all of the different colored little blobs and decided that I had to incorporate that into my card somehow. I was originally going to use a bunch of circles on the background but remembered this little plastic baggie of 1" scraps I had just thrown into the garbage can while cleaning earlier. Yup, I dived into the garbage and rescued the scraps... good thing Garbage Day isn't until Wednesday morning. Although, this is the garbage can in my craft room so no gross food scraps or the such to go through. Otherwise I probably would have stuck with punching a bunch of circles out of cardstock! :)
Here is the Be Inspired Challenge sample if you would like to take a gander at it. Don't forget to check out the other great creations by the rest of the inspiration team: Jennifer, Susan, Silke, Dawn and Charmaine.
Notes: finished card size is 5" x 5". To create the background a bunch of 1" squares of cardstock were adhered to Basic Black cardstock in a 4 x 4 grid pattern. Stitching was then added around the outside and inside edges of the main square with a sewing machine and white thread. Ribbon and brads were added before adhering to the Almost Amethyst card base. To finish the butterfly from Just Celebrate was stamped on Whisper White and colored with markers before matting on more black and adhering to the card with dimensionals. A touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to the wings of the butterfly.
