A Sneak Peek and a Thursday Challenge

Are you ready to see the latest Sophia that will be joining the Paper Pretties SOTMC? I thought so... the newest addition is Angel Sophia - and she is just the sweetest little thing!!! She will be available in October for SOTMC members. Then the following month she will be available for purchase in the Paper Pretties Boutique.

Of course I was so delighted with this new stamp that I immediately had to make a card and not just any card... a festive card! Maybe it is the super hot temperatures outside but I am so ready for the upcoming holidays... bring on the candy corn, turkey, and Christmas cookies!!!

What do you think? Is she cute? Are you in the mood for Fall or Winter now? I hope so, because this week's Pretties Forum Challenge is to make a festive card... it can be celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other holiday that you can think of.

festive - adjective:
1. pertaining to or suitable for a feast or festival: festive decorations; a festive meal. (Hmm... yes, I obviously associate the holidays with food).
2. joyous; merry: a festive mood. (What happens after lots and lots of chocolate, especially Judy's Chocolate Crinkle cookies.)

How does the Paper Pretties' challenge work? Make a card, scrapbook page, altered item or so forth using Paper Pretties stamps if you have them. If you don't have Paper Pretties' stamps, still feel free to join in the fun... the more the merrier! :) Then visit the Paper Pretties' gallery and upload a picture of your project to the Weekly Challenges category (also use the keyword PWC19 - aids in searching). You have until the following Thursday to upload your picture to the gallery to be entered into the contest to earn a little something something from the Paper Pretties' Boutique. Again, this week's challenge is to make a festive card (in case you skipped past the above paragraphs)!

Quick notes: Sophia's wings and the trim on her dress were painted with Pearlescent watercolors. Her dress, skin and hair were colored with Copic markers. The dress was then coated with Crystal Effects.

Stamps: Angel Sophia (Paper Pretties - October SOTMC), Best Yet Hostess (SU!). Paper: Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Georgia Pacific white, Maine Blueberry designer, Vellum cardstock. Ink: Black, Copic markers (E00, B91, W2, Y21). Other: Pearlescent watercolors (Yasutomo), Crystal Effects, AquaPainter, mat pack, paper piercer, silver brads, large oval punch, 1/16" circle punch, silver elastic cord, Whisper White taffeta ribbon, cloud blue twill ribbon.
