Rainy Day Fun

Hiya! I stamped the other day and finally had a few minutes to share the card with you. I used a fun new image from the March KOTM from Unity Stamp Company. Now I feel the need to buy a new umbrella and a chic rain coat. But I should resist... must get new windows for the house... blech. :P


I stamped the umbrella on a bit of designer paper and cut out. I then applied VersaMark ink to the umbrella, coated with Ultra Thick embossing powder and heat set. I repeated a couple more times until there was a very thick layer of clear embossing powder over the umbrella. Note: be careful because it can crack if you are not careful. Although a little heat setting will remove the cracks.

I used a scalloped circle of cardstock, a sponge and Bashful Blue Classic ink to create a cloudy sky. I then airbrushed a bit of green ink onton the bottom and drew in the grass with a couple of Copic markers.

Notes: Instead of using Copic markers I used a different coloring medium today. I used SU! Classic reinkers and an AquaPainter. I *gasp* watercolored! I stamped the Poppy image in Versamark on watercolor paper and heat embossed using ultra fine black embossing powder. I then painted... or at least my attempt at painting! :)

I think I should warn you... you might be seeing this set on my blog a lot in the future because I LOVE it! So fabulous and quite a bit different from most of the sets in my collection. Yay! :)

I chose to use the Sweet Pea stamp set today... isn't it sweetly divine?

Card notes: I colored the image with Copic markers. For several of the blooms I stamped them a second time on another piece of white cardstock, cut out and adhered over the first image with dimensionals. For additional oomph I outlined the petals with Crystal Effects and then dusted with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. And to accent the main image I had to use a fun piece of mini pom pom trim and a few delightful pieces of My Mind's Eye designer paper.

There She Goes Blog Hop: Spring Fever

Today the There She Goes Trendsetters are sharing a bit of Spring Fever! The trees are budding, the grass is growing, the squirrels are feeling a bit frisky and our blogs are featuring some delightful Spring creations using the new Spring Fever stamp set! For my card I had to use the cute little squirrels... they are having a romantic lunch rendevouz in the park. Smoochy squirrels... hee hee. ;)

Card notes: I stamped the bench on white cardstock in Creamy Caramel Classic ink and stamped the two little hearts in red. I then used my Copic markers and an air compressor to add blue sky and green grass. I used Copic markers to draw a bit of grass around the feet of the bench. Next I stamped the larger heart and the two squirrels on another piece of white cardsock and cut each image out. They were then adhered to the bench with dimensionals. A little designer paper, a crocheted flower and some sewing finished the card. Don't look to closely at the stitching... my sewing machine was having fits.

The next stop on the blog hop is the extremely talented Donna Wardle! I am in awe of her coloring with Prisma Pencils. I don't need another coloring medium but oh how tempting it is after viewing her fabulous creations. ;)

Bunnies Here, Bunnies There, Bunnies Everywhere!

Hi Peeps! I have a sweet bunny card to share with you. Seems very appropriate considering the warmer weather and the fast approaching Spring!

I think this image from MFT is too funny - something about the facial expression of the bunny just cracks me up. Maybe a similarity to the gopher from Caddyshack? Hee hee...


For a bit of extra fun I applied Cotton Candy Shimmerz to the inner ears of the bunnies AND I added cottonball white Fun Flock to their tails. Sweet! :)

Fluffly Blue and Oranges in the Sky

TSG46: Orange You Happy for Spring?

One of my least favorite colors used to be orange but lately I've been loving anything and everything orange! Orange sweaters, orange vehicles and of course cards using the color orange. No I am not going to buy and orange car... but I will oogle them a bit! :)

I made today's card for this week's There She Goes challenge: a sketch by me! You can check it out HERE. If it has not posted yet it should soon. I used another flower image from the Flowers of Happiness stamp set and colored it with various shades of orange and yellow. For the flower center I adhered a bit of glitter and once dry coated it with a liberal amount of Crystal Effects. So purty!

Sweetly Yellow

Woot! I had a bit of time to stamp late last night. :) So I decided to make a card for this (or more like last) week's TSG challenge to make a card with yellow and a flower. I paired a flower image from the Flowers of Happiness stamp set with some lovely Material Girl designer paper and a bit of embroidered ribbon. Nice-y nice!

Fab Birthday in the Sky!

Hi my crafty friends!

I'm pretty excited to share this card today since it uses some of my favorite new crafty items. I've been drooling over the Aim for the Clouds set from TSG since it was released and had to scoop it up immediately when Jessica asked me to join the team. Love those little hot air balloons! I actually work right next door to a company that makes the balloons... so fun when I drive into work and see them testing a new one. The other new item I'm excited about is the wide silk ribbon. Yummy and I can actually tie a bow with it. LOL!

Note: The sentiment says "High hopes for a wonderful birthday".

A Little Spring

I'm popping in today with a sweet Spring card! The perfect card for this weekend since the weather has been really really nice. Hopefully it will stay that way for a while!


Quick card notes: finished size is 5" square. I paper pierced her little dress from the same designer paper I used on the base layer. I colored the rest of the image with Copic markers. I sponged Creamy Caramel Classic ink on all of the layers for a slightly distressed look.

Happy Monday

Guess what? I have some exciting news to share with you today. Although if you read THIS POST on the There She Goes blog then you already know! Yes - I'm joining the There She Goes design team as a Trendsetter for the next 6 months. Woo hoo! Such an exiting day and I just have to say that the rest of this team... wow... just wow! I am in awe of their talent and so thankful to Jessica for the opportunity to work them and with her fabulous line of stamps!

To celebrate I had to make a card to share...

Notes on the main image: I stamped the leaft image on white cardstock and then cutout using a Labels One Nestabilities die. I then used a couple of Copic Markers and an air compressor to add blue around the leaves. Note: if you use the brush tip you can create a fun splattered pattern. Next I colored the leaves with a couple shades of green. I stamped the flower on both white cardstock and vellum and colored both with Copic markers. I trimmed both flowers (keeping only the inner portion of the vellum one). Next I sprayed all of the layers with Pearl Glimmer Mist and heat set. I finger curled the vellum petals inward a bit and attached the two flowers together with a dimensional and then added a corduroy brad. A bit of work but oh so pretty!
