Big Beautiful Blooms

Hi my crafty friends!

Is it Spring yet? If not I think these blooming buttercups will usher it in! :) Jessica, our fearless TSG leader, posted a fabulous tip sheet last week for creating a layered buttercup and I just had to make some of these flowers myself!

After cutting out the flower layers I added a bit of shading with a Copic marker and then sponged the edge with Ranger Distress Ink in Wild Honey. And if that wasn't enough I coated each layer with VersaMark and clear embossing powder and heat set. For the flower center I used Iridescent Ice embossing powder instead of the clear. 'Cause we like glitter... a lot!

Do you like? I have to admit that I think I should have skipped stamping the bees...
Recipe:
Stamps: What's Up Buttercup?! (TSG Clear Stamps). Paper: Sweet Blush, Kraft, Spring Moss (flower center), designer (Karen Foster). Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers, Wild Honey and Peeled Paint Distress Inks (Ranger), VersaMark. Other: Crystal clear embossing powder, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, twill, brads, sewing machine and white thread and lots and lots of dimensionals.

TSG Sneak Peeks Day 3: Domestic Goddess

Hello and Happy Thursday! Today is the final day for sneak peeks and we are sharing a fun set called Domestic Goddess. I love the ladies in this set and the wry humor of the included sentiments. *giggle*

Domestic Goddess is a 6x8 stamp set that includes a total of 46 stamps and will sell for $24.

Would you like a chance to win the Domestic Goddess stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Domestic Goddess Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Domestic Goddess stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (April 24) during the Release Party Chat.

The hop started at the TSG blog and hopefully you came here from there (I'm the first stop)!

Quick notes on my card : I kept the layout of this one simple since the main image has so much detail. However I did have to add a bit of ribbon and a button and just a touch of Crystal Effects to the phone and the vacuum. I'm a bit addicted to the CE right now... just a little bit. ;)

The next stop on the blog hop is Donna. Have fun checking out the samples - I know I will. :)

Today's hop featuring the set started at the TSG Blog and if you came here from Chris's blog then you are in the right place! However if you didn't you might be missing out on some pretty eye candy and we wouldn't want that. :)

I only have one card to share today but I really like how this one turned out!
Quick notes: I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black and colored with Copic markers. I then added a bit of Crystal Effects to the blooms and sprinkled with a pinch or two of Dazzling Diamonds glitter. And then I had to sponge... had! And add stitching both faux and that done with a sewing machine.

Hmm... definitely need to ink this stamp set up again. :)

The next stop on the hop is Donna. I can't wait to see what she and the rest of the Trendsetters' are sharing today! :)

TSG Sneak Peeks Day 1: Daily Grind

Hello Crafty Friends!

Welcome to day one of sneak peeks for TSG! The Trendsetters are previewing the first of three sets being released on Saturday. This first set is called Daily Grind, and it celebrates some of the favorite things we enjoy during life’s down-time.

Daily Grind is a 6"X8" stamp set that includes a total of 35 of stamps, and will sell for $24.

Would you like a chance to win the Daily Grind set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Daily Grind Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Daily Grind stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (April 24) during the Release Party Chat.

The hop started at the TSG Blog and I'm the first stop! And I'm sure you are excited to see some samples so here I go with my first one:

I think my shabby chic stamping personality had free reign on this one! A little sewing and an extra dose of sponging with a dash of glitter.

Quick notes: I added just a bit of glitter to the cupcakes in the window with a Copic Spica Pen and then coated the whole window with Crystal Effects. I also added CE to the door and the shop sign. While the sign was still wet I sprinkled just a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter over it. Say it with me... "Nice!". Hee hee.

And a second sample, this time using the fun topiary image from the set. Quick notes: Stamped the image twice and colored both. Cut the floral parts from the second and adhered over the first image with dimensionals. I then added a bit of sparkle to each leaf with a green Copic Spica Pen. For the pot I added a coating of Crackle Accents (Ranger). For a bit of ribbon-y goodness I added ribbon pleating along the bottom.

So what do you think? Isn't this set fabulous?!

The next stop on the hop is Donna! I'm sure she will wow you with her fabulous sample(s)... I know I always leave her blog feeling starstruck (have you seen her mad coloring skillz using Prisma Pencils?). :)

Have a Sweet and Sugary Birthday!

Hi Crafty Peeps! I have a super quick post tonight. I had to get my hands on this fun birthday set from TSG - I was sold as soon as I saw the topsy turvy cake image! This is the kind of cake I decorate... a little lopsided because I trimmed a bit too much off the top to make it flat (and for taste testing purposes!) Hee hee. :)

Quick notes: After coloring the cake and banner and adhering to the card with dimensionals I coated them with Crystal Effects. I added paper piercing to the main oval (not so good at sewing along curves!) and added sewing to all of the other layers of designer paper after matting.

Recipe:
Stamps: Make A Wish (There She Goes Clear Stamps). Paper: Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Ocean Tides, White (PTI), designer (My Mind's Eye). Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers. Other: Crystal Effects, Oval Nestabilities, ribbon (May Arts), brads (American Crafts), Edger punch (SU!), dimensionals, sewing machine and white thread.

Honey for the Hungry Bear

Hi Crafty Friends! Feels like forever since I have posted... okay, not quite forever but close to it! I've been a busy bee... at work. Rats! So not a ton of crafting time but I did make a couple cards over the last few days including this one for the TSG49 challenge to use: Lemon Yellow, Grass Green, and Aqua. Sweet color combo, don't you agree? :)

For the card I used the cute Bear Hugs mini stamp set. To the honey pot I had to add a bit of Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to mimic the look of super sticky yummy honey. I must admit I'm not a huge honey fan... regurgitated bee spit just doesn't do it for me. LOL - that might not be accurate but I always think that when I look at honey. I'll leave it to the bees and the bears and stick to chocolate! Hee hee. ;)

Recipe:
Stamps: Bear Hugs (There She Goes Clear Stamps). Paper: So Saffron, Blue Bayou (SU!), Spring Moss and White (PTI), designer. Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic markers. Other: Satin ribbon, buttons (PTI), white thread and sewing machine, edger punch (SU!), dimensionals, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, rhinestones (Heidi Swapp).

Poppy Sweet

Oh sweet Poppies! I warned you that you would be seeing this stamp set again! :) The images are so sweet and extra fun to color! This time I used my Copic markers and added a bit of Frosted Stickles for shimmer. I also used a bit of silk ribbon, a few brads and some sewing to accent the main image. The bow does hide the sentiment in the picture but it is easy to push out of the way so I decided that was allowable. ;)

And here is a closeup so you can see the whole sentiment and the glitter that I applied to the flower and the butterfly. Pretty!

In other random news I changed my blog layout a bit and updated the header. What do you think? I'm hoping you like it but be honest! :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Poppies (There She Goes Clear Stamps). Paper: Ruby Red, Garden Green, Pink Pirouette (SU!), Spring Moss and White (PTI), Lemon Citron designer (K & Company). Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers. Other: Scalloped Scallop edger (EK Success), Silk ribbon (May Arts), Sewing machine and white thread, dimensionals, vintage brads, Frosted Stickles (Ranger).
