Shake Shake SHAKE!

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to share a card I made today for the Wednesday Trends over on the TSG Blog. The trend? A shaker card using some leftover carrot seeds. :) If you visit the TSG Blog you can see the step by step picture tutorial on creating the shaker box portion of this card that I created. You'll have to let me know what you think! :)
The little yellow birdie on this card is dancing with joy at the idea of a pile of yummy carrot seeds. Nom nom nom...

I'm dancing with joy because I love shaking this card! Shake shake shake! However, I'll have to hide this card - the last time I made a shaker card my cats discovered it and thought it was just the best toy ever. Grrr... bad cats!

Recipe:

Stamps: Happy Day (There She Goes Clear Stamps). Paper: River Rock, Chocolate Chip (SU!), Aqua Mist, White (PTI), designer (My Mind's Eye). Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic markers, white gel pen. Other: large oval punch, Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Tim Holtz embossing folder (Sizzix), jute (May Arts), satin ribbon (Michael's), Dimensional Foam Tape (3M), brads (SU!), sewing machine, white thread, dimensionals.

TSG61: Going Green

Hello everyone!

This week’s There She Goes challenge is brought to you by me! I'm really into gardening this year, so I thought I would issue a TWO-STEP challenge! The challenge is to incorporate the COLOR GREEN and some type of PLANT (flowers, trees, topiaries, leaves, etc) on your creation this week. You can use other colors on your card/ project as well, but you MUST use GREEN somewhere on your card.

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that uses GREEN and a PLANT, then head over to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky that is located at the bottom of the challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (July 5th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

I can't wait to see all of your creations! I made a 5" x 5" card using a flower image from the What's Up Buttercup?! stamp set and some Kiwi Kiss cardstock.

I stamped the main image in Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers. Sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink and added a bit of paper piercing. I coated the flowers with Crystal Effects and added a dusting of Dazzling Diamonds glitter. For the background I embossed a piece of Kiwi Kiss cardstock with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and then sponged with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. I think the rest is self explanatory but if you have any questions just ask! :)

P.S. I'll be back tomorrow with another fun project. :)

Recipe:

Stamps: What's Up Buttercup?! (There She Goes Clear Stamps), Paper: Naturals Ivory, Cameo Coral, Kiwi Kiss (SU!), white (PTI), designer (SEI). Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic markers, Antique Linen and Peeled Paint Distress Inks (Ranger). Other: Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Twill Tape, 3/4" circle punch, jumbo oval punch (SU!), satin ribbon and jute (May Arts), Weathered Wood embossing folder (Tim Holtz), sewing machine, heavy duty ribbon, dimensionals.

Pretty Pink Princess

Hi all - I have a cotton candy kind of card to share with you today. It's sweet, sugary and oh so pink! I ordered a few new stamps from MFT a couple of weeks ago including this sweet Princess image from the Pure Innocence line. In between cleaning and reorganizing my craft room last week I found a little time to play. I would have shared the card sooner but I feel asleep... snooze fest on the couch-o last night! ;)

Details: I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Rich Cocoa on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. The dress was paper pierced from a piece of My Mind's Eye paper. After cutting out I added Swarovski Hot Fix Crystals to the hat and then a liberal coating of Frosted Lace Stickles (added some to the cake too!). Mmm.. the cake looks tasty. Do you think she would share? *giggle*

And as usual I added some ribbon, jute and a button (and some cork... lovely cork!). Alrighty, I gotta run and work on a couple other crafty projects to share with you this week. :D

Recipe:
Stamps: Pure Innocence - Princess (MFT). Paper: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip (SU!), White (PTI), designer (My Mind's Eye). Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic Markers. Other: Cork and Scallop die (MFT), Frosted Lace Stickles (Ranger), jute, brown/vanilla taffeta and brown ric rac ribbon (May Arts), Swarovski Crystals, Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), large oval punch and brads (SU!), dimensionals, button.

TSG Sneak Peeks Day 3: Polka Dot Pals

Are you ready for some serious cuteness? So cute you may just overdose on it? I thought so! And I think the stamp set that TSG is debuting today is just that! The Trendsetters are doing another Blog Hop to showcase this new set and I'm the first stop. If you get lost along the way simply pop on over to the TSG Blog to find your way.

Our newest TSG Illustrator Torico, is making her debut with this adorable animal stamp set! Polka Dot Pals is a 4x6 stamp set that includes a total of 17 stamps and will sell for $15.

Would you like a chance to win the Polka Dot Pals stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Polka Dot Pals Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Polka Dot Pals stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (June 26th) during the Release Party Chat.

For my card I used the uber cute duckie image and made a sweet baby card. Well it could be used for other occasions but considering the number of people I know who are expecting new little ones... I think it will be sent as a baby card. :) I might continue the sentiment on the inside with a bit of handwriting. Imagine... the astronomical number of diapers you will need the next couple of years. ;) Hee hee.

Since duckies and babies are sweet I continued the theme with a touch of yellow wool blend felt that I ordered the other day (oh I bought some other colors... lots and lots of colors). It went perfectly with the Fly a Kite designer paper from October Afternoon, twill and a bit of black polka dot ribbon (which I am all out of now).
So what do you think? Are you excited to see more? If so check out the rest of the hop! The next stop on the hop is the talented Heather!

Don't Open Til Your Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a glittery birthday card to share with you today. Again, I'm using one of the newly released Anna Wight Cling Sets from Whipper Snapper: Party Animal. However there are no critters on this card... they are all heading inside of the gift packages!

Notes:

First step: stamped the gift image from Party Animal a bunch of times on a rectangle card stock. Colored the gifts with Copic markers and sponged around the edges of the card stock with Antique Linen Distress Ink. To finish I layered on red card stock, paper pierced the edges and added Crackle Accents to the bows on the gifts.

Second Step: on a second piece of white card stock I stamped the same gift image another five times, colored with Copic markers, cut out and then added crackle accents to the bows again. Once dry I adhered these five gifts to the first panel and sprayed the entire piece with Pearl Glimmer Mist.

Third Step: I cut a scalloped square from Berry Sorbet card stock using a Nestabilities die. I spritzed this piece with Patina Glimmer Mist and heat set.

Fourth Step: I cut a square of Baja Breeze card stock and added a strip of designer paper to the bottom. Then I layered the piece on red card stock, added paper piercing to the edges and spritzed the whole piece with more Pearl Glimmer Mist.

Fifth Step: attached the scallop square to the base layer and added a piece of Baja Breeze ribbon - wrap around the layer and overlap so that the end hangs just over the left edge. Clip the end to create a flag. Next wrap a doubled up piece of jute over the ribbon and tie a bow. Punch a little hole near the bow so that a corduroy brad can be placed here. Attach main image, letting the brad overlap it just a bit.

Sixth Step: wrap another piece of jute around the base layer and tap the ends to the back of it. Stamp a sentiment on another piece of Baja Breeze card stock and punch out with large oval punch. Sponge the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink and adhere over the jute with dimensionals.

Seventh Step: Attach to 5"x5" card base cut from Naturals Ivory card stock.

Whew... it didn't really take as long as the description implies to actually make the card! :) And it is so sparkly that it is totally worth the little bit of extra effort. LOL! Glitter makes it all good, right? :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Party Animal Anna Wight Cling Set (Whipper Snapper). Paper: White, Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet (PTI), Naturals Ivory, Baja Breeze (SU!), Jocelyn designer (SEI). Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger), Copic markers. Other: Baja Breeze striped ribbon, mat pack, paper piercer, large oval punch, Kiwi Kiss corduroy brad (SU!), jute (May Arts), large scalloped square Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Crackle Accents (Ranger), Pearl and Patina Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels), dimensionals.

Distressed... but in a Good Way!

Hi Crafty Friends!

The TSG Challenge this week is to create a Worn, Torn or Distressed project... get 'er dirty in other words! ;) I was a little limited when making my card because I could not find my edge distressor which left me in a dither. Oh the horrors! So instead I added sponging to the edges of the different layers using Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks.

Also, I'm not sure if this counts as distressing but I sprayed the main image and the background with Glimmer Mist. Such subtle glitter... makes my heart pitter patter! Speaking of the main image - I stamped the Poppies image in Tea Dye on Naturals Ivory cardstock and cut out with an oval nestabilities die. I then sponged the entire image with Antique Linen and the edges with Tea Dye. After which I layered it on a piece of black cardstock that was cut out with a Petite Scalloped Oval Nestie. I also stamped a butterfly from the set on another piece of Naturals Ivory, colored with Copic markers anc cut out. After attaching to the oval I applied a layer of Crystal Effects, dusted with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and let dry.

The next layer that is a little green in tone was actually another piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock. Again I sponged the edges and then layered on black cardstock. I added a strip of designer paper, some scalloped cork, ribbon and jute. To finish I added a button with more jute tied through it, a few brads and gave the whole piece a liberally spritzing with Lime Twist Glimmer Mist (thus the green tone).

A bit more designer paper layered on black cardstock and a Spring Moss cardbase finished my oh so distressed poppies card. So what do you think? I feel like this card pushed me a bit outside of my comfort zone but I love how it turned out!

Recipe:
Stamps: Poppies (There She Goes Clear Stamps). Paper: Naturals Ivory, Black (SU!), Spring Moss (PTI), Queen Bee designer (Pink Paislee). Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks (Ranger), Copic markers. Other: cork and large scallop die (MFT), Petite Scalloped Oval and Oval Nestabilities (SpellBinders), Black Satin ribbon and button (PTI), jute (May Arts), brads (Recollections), Mat pack, Paper Piercer, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and Crystal Effects (SU!), Lime Twist and Sunflower Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels), dimensionals.

Latest Scoop from the Coop

I don't have a coop or a chicken but I do have a scoop! A scoop I use to dish out the cat food. :) Sorry no secrets to share with you today... although I do have a sample using the newly released Sunnyside Up stamp set from Whipper Snapper. The little girl is super sweet, don't you agree?

Quick notes: I covered a random chipboard flower from my stash with Farm Fresh designer paper. How? I adhered the flower to a slightly larger square of designer paper. Trimmed off as much of the excess paper with scissors as I could and then used a sanding block and a couple of files from a Basic Grey file set to remove the rest. I then sponged the edges with Barn Door Distress Ink and attached a button I threaded with brown jute (used a big glue dot).

Recipe
Stamps: Sunnyside Up Anna Wight cling set (Whipper Snapper). Paper: Spring Moss and white (PTI), Chocolate Chip (SU!), Farm Fresh designer (October Afternoon). Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Antique Linen and Barn Door distress inks (Ranger), Copic markers. Other: button (PTI), ribbon and jute (May Arts), mat pack, paper piercer, chipboard flower, dimensionals.

That's No Bull!

I have a confession - I'm terrible at sending birthday cards on time. They are always a bit late. So this fun sentiment from the new Anna Wight cling set Party Animal (Whipper Snapper) is perfect for me! Well, that and it makes me giggle. :)

I stamped the main image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut out with a Nestabilties Label 8 die. I left the die in place and sponged Antique Linen Distress Ink around the edges and then colored the rest of the image with Copic markers. Next I stamped the cake on a separate piece of white cardstock, colored and trimmed with my scissors. I applied Crystal Effects to the frosting and coated with just a sprinkle of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (did the same to the flower on the dress). Once dry I adhered the cake to the cow with dimensionals.

I cut a larger piece of Spring Moss cardstock using another Labels 8 die and then stamped the sentiment at the top. After which I went and paper pierced the edges. For the next layer I matted for squares of Kioshi designer paper on a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock and then sewed around all of the edges (sew and sew and sew some more!). I then assembled all of the layers together, adding some twill tape with a tied on button and a few brads. "Sew" what do you think? ;)

Recipe:

Stamps: Party Animal (Whipper Snapper Designs). Paper: Naturals Ivory and Tangerine Tange (SU!), Spring Moss and White (PTI), Kioshi designer (Basic Grey). Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger), Copic markers. Other: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Crystal Effects, Twill Tape, Mat Pack and paper piercer (SU!), brads (Recollections) Labels 8 Nestabilities (Spellbinder's), button (PTI), jute (May Arts), sewing machine, heavy duty white thread, dimensionals.

Tweet Tweet - bird speak for Happy Day

Happy Day or rather Happy Late Late Friday! :)

I'm looking forward to the weekend and accomplishing some tasks around the house. Maybe a little painting, some yardwork and perhaps a few more pots of plants or trees. I've only planted 11 trees this year... so far. ;)

And speaking of trees here is a card I made using the very sweet Happy Day stamp set from TSG. I love the funky tree in this set and the happy fat birdies. For the card I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Copic Markers and accented with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. For the tree I stamped a few of the leaves a second time, colored, cut and layered over the main image with dimensionals.

I used a bit of twill tape, jute string and a couple of buttons to add a little more happy to the card. I figure if they make me happy they should do the same for the card and hopefully for you. ;)

Have a great weekend!

Whipper Snapper Fun!

Hello Crafty Friends!

As some of you know or have realized I am a big fan of Whipper Snapper Stamps, especially the Anna Wight line, so when Anna emailed me and asked if I would be one of the featured stampers for the next release I immediately answered "Yes yes yes!!!". It didn't take me long at all to make the decision. :)

And now the day is here and I can show you some loveliness that I made with one of the two new Anna Wight Cling Sets being released: Party Animal. I went for a fun and pink with this one - cause girls like to party to! ;)

I stamped the main image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. And because I'm addicted to Crystal Effects I added a coating of that to the critters. I dyed a piece of white silk ribbon to match the card with a Copic Various Ink refill (let dry) and then sewed it o a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock, creating a fun pleated look. I added a button and jute for additional texture.

For the cardbase I matted a piece of designer paper by My Mind's Eye (Home line, I think) to red cardstock and sewed the edges. To finish I assembed the card using dimensionals and then added some bitty rhinestones to the corners of the main image. Purty and girly... love it! ;)

Thanks Sweet Pea!

Hi Peeps!

I'm popping in to night with a sweet thank you card that I made last night. I used the Sweet Pea stamp set from TSG and stamped the main flower image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock. I then cut the image out - I used an exacto blade to cut out the inner pieces. I then painted the blossoms with Ice Lavendar Shimmerz paint. Very very sparkly in real life. :)

So there you have it... one monochromatic card. I haven't done that in a while. :)

In other news, I have been trying my hand at gardening this year. I decided to try growing some vegetables in containers on my deck. I'm quite excited about this, especially since I came home tonight and checked my pots and noticed that a bunch more seedlings are emerging: pickling cucumbers, snow peas and more green beans. This is in addition to the gourds, peas and green beans that I planted earlier. Woo hoo! They are all doing much better than the pot of peas that I had to start over after the seeds were drowned out in a rain storm a little over a week ago... this time around I have two seedlings. Two itty bittly little plants... ;)

I also bought a cayenne pepper plant and a tomato plant that are growing like crazy (starting to blossom already!). And I started a bunch of hot pepper and green peppers in one of those little hothouse trays... I have over 25 seedlings started. I also started some banana peppers that are just beginning to poke through. Umm yeah... I don't need that many peppers but I didn't anticipate that they would all take. Good thing my dad wants whatever I don't need - he is going to get a boat load of pepper plants! :)

Are you doing any gardening? I think the green beans are going to be my favorite. How about you?

Recipe:
Stamps: Sweet Pea (There She Goes Clear Stamps). Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black (SU!), White (PTI), Tim Holtz Shabby Vintage designer. Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black. Other: rhinestones (Kaiser), Petite Scalloped Circle and Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), white satin (SU!), dimensionals, heavy duty white thread and sewing machine, Ice Lavendar Shimmerz.
