Just One of Those Days

Yup - been one of those days so I thought I would share this card. It seemed appropriate. Snort. And it improved my mood greatly. :)

Notes: Stamped the main image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic Markers. Applied Crystal Effects to the skirt and dusted with glitter and added Crystal Effects to the pig hat and ballet slippers.

I diecut a piece of cork with a large scallop die (MFT) and added a bit of stitching to the sweet blush layer.

TSG Sneak Peeks Day 3: Puppy Love / Bee Happy

Welcome to Day Three of TSG Sneak Peeks! Today we are sharing samples using two new stamp sets that were illustrated by the newest TSG artist, Torico! First up is a set called Puppy Love and it is for all of you puppy lovers (I'm talking about you Meredith... lol!).

See? Such a cute image that I couldn't resist getting inky! :) Stamped the main image in Memento Tuxedo Black on White cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I paper pierced the little girl's dress using the same designer paper as one of the panels (My Mind's Eye). I sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink and stitched to a panel of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

Bee Happy is a 3x4 stamp set that includes a total of 27 stamps and will sell for $7.

For my second card I used one of the happy fat bumblebees and the honeycomb flower (how neat is that?).

I stamped the bumblebee on white cardstock, colored and cut out. I added Frosted Lace Stickles to the weeks... cause this bumblebee has his party outfit on. ;)

The background behind the flowers and bumblebee started off as white but I sprayed it with Lemon and the Lime Glimmer Mist... just because I like sparkle. ;)

And here is my sample - these flowers are so pretty and easy to stamp! I wanted a very soft tone for the flowers so using Baja Breeze Classic ink I stamped off once on scrap paper. This lightened the color just enough! The outline was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the flower centers with Kiwi Kiss.

Of course a touch of glitter was needed so I sprayed all three of the flowers with Pearl Glimmer Mist and heat set. Unlike yesterday I did add a touch of sewing and twine. I paper pierced the diecut cardstock (Labels die from SpellBinders) instead of sewing... I can sew a straight line and that is about it! :)

For my card I went with a shappy sort of vintage look. Hmmm... need to work on that a bit. The main image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. The dish was stamped on a seperate piece of cardstock, colored, cut out and adhered over the main image with dimensionals. I added a touch of Dimensional Pearls to the center of each flower.

A little antiquing of the layers (including the crocheted ribbon), a bit of designer paper and some embossing finished the card. If I remade this card I would add stitching to each of the layers... I went through major withdrawal not adding any sewing or twine to this card! Hee hee. ;)

Now that you have seen my card... the next stop on the hop is the extremely talented Heather (I'm in awe of her cards - the color schemes are always perfect and bright)!

Happy Mail

Hello everyone,

I was playing with some new-ish stamps the other day and made a couple cards including this one.

I stamped the sweet Pure Innocence girl (from MFT) in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on an ivory Perfect Panel (also from MFT) and colored with Copic markers. Her dress was pieced from designer paper (October Afternoon) and a coating of Crystal Effects with a dusting of glitter was applied to the dress collar and pockets and the heart on the mail box.

I accented the card with some of my favorites: jute, buttons, ribbon and brads! Hmm... I wonder what will be my favorite accent in five years? Will I still be using buttons? Sewing? Or will some new trend knock 'em for a loop and take their place? What do you think?

TSG64: Polka Dots and Chipboard

Hi Crafty Friends!

I have a *beary* sweet card to share with you! I made this one for this week's challenge on the There She Goes Blog, TSG64, Polka Dots & Chipboard, brought to us by the Trendsetter of the Week, the AMAZING Lisa!

I used the sweet mini set Beary Hugs, some polka dot Heidi Grace designer paper and a few chipboard hearts I had stashed in my box of chipboard odds and ends.

Notes: the chipboard hearts were covered with Close to Cocoa Craft ink and heat set. I used the Basic Grey file set to distress the edges once dry. I then sewed a button the center of each one. For the main image I stamped the big bear and the tiny bear on ivory cardstock (Perfect Paper Panels from MFT) and colored with Copic markers. The tiny bear was cut out and adhered over the first bear with dimensionals. I distressed the edges of the panel with Antique Linen Distress ink and an edge distressor. Crystal Effects was added to the ears, feet, nose and bellies. ;) The sentiment "When all else fails, hug your teddy bear." was stamped on So Saffron cardstock, cut out with a tab punch, aged with Antique Linen Distress ink and attached to the main image with a teeny tiny staple (after matting on Chocolate Chip cardstock and sewing around the edges).

A Shabby SFYTT

Hey peeps!

I'm popping in late tonight to share a card using TSG stamps! I'll be keeping the details short and sweet as I'm about to nod off... zzzzz... :)

I used Jen's SFYTT from last Saturday for the layout on this card. I know - I'm really into the sketch challenges lately. Not sure what is up with that except I have been having a bit of stampers' block these last couple of weeks. Too many non-stamping projects... including a big one - new windows for the house! ;)

Main image was stamped on Naturals Ivory cardstock and colored. The curtain portion of the image and the little bird were stamped a second time on white cardstock, colored with Copic markers and cut out. I then adhered these pieces over the first image (used dimensionals for the bird).

I used the Tattered Florals Tim Holtz die to cut a pretty flower from a sheet of acrylic. I used my paper piercer to poke for holes in the center and attached the flower with a button to my card using string/jute/twine (not sure what the perfect name for it is). I used more of the twine to attach three buttons on the upper right side of the card.

When finished I added a coating of Crystal Effects to the window opening and the arches. And a touch of glitter to the little birdie with an orange Spica pen.

MTSC81: Loving the Dirt!

Hey peeps!

I finished painting my craft and office rooms yesterday. Woo hoo! I'm so happy this project is done... hopefully I'll have a bit more time to craft. Of course I do need to reorganize a bit of my crafty stuff first and finish a couple other little things like putting my computer desk back together and installing some blinds. :) However I did eek out a little time to make a card with one of my recent stamp purchases... Mud Buddies (I think that is the name) from MFT Stamps.

I played with Mercy's Sketch from last Tuesday. I did add an extra little piece for the sentiment... she'll forgive me for that. :)


Here is a closeup so you can see the touch of glitter I added to the trowel and her buttons. So cute - love this stamp! :)

Well I'm off... I have some organizing to do and some zzzzs to catch!

SC288: Bah Bah Bah

Hey peeps!

My stamping mojo has been seriously missing this week... where oh where has it gone? I looked everywhere... even under the couch cushions but alas it was nowhere to be found. So I thought I would lure it back with a sketch challenge... a SplitCoast sketch. :)

Hmm... it turned out a bit colorful but I like it.

And it seems appropriate considering my insomnia last night. Hopefully tonight I'll be dreaming about sheep instead of counting them. Well, maybe not sheep... all that dream bahing would probably wake me. :)


After coloring and cutting out the lambs I added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter using a 2-way glue pen. I just couldn't resist. Cause if you are going to dream about sheep they might as well have polka dots and glitter. Hee hee.

To accent the card I diecut three flowers from light green felt and then sewed them together along with a couple of buttons. The finished flower was a bit too big so I trimmed each of the petals - flower haircut!

Got Cake?

Hi all!

Yeesh, been a while since I posted and I had such big plans to post more frequently... and then I became sidetracked. Been a very busy four day weekend for me. Car repairs, window estimate, painting and reorganizing the craft/office rooms (half way done) and some fun socializing of course. :)

Oh, and one note on painting... a little lesson I learned this weekend. If you purchase multiple cans of paint make sure they add tint/colorant to all of them. Nothing like opening the second can and finding it white (stir) white (stir tons more) white (boo hooing at this point)! That was a grumpy long ride back to the hardware store. ;)

But a little cake makes things all better, right? Or maybe just a cake card!

Again, I used the Party Animals Anna Wight cling set from Whipper Snapper Designs. I actually think I accomplished the difficult task of making a *gasp* masculine card. What do you think?

Main image stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. Added a bit of Copic Spica pen to the hat and Crystal Effects to both the hat and cupcake. I then cut out the image and adhered it to a Tempting Turquoise piece (die cut with a Labels One Nestabilities) with dimensionals. I used VersaMark and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment mutliple times on the Soft Sky layer. Distressed the edges, layered on black and added some stitching. I pulled the thread out of a portion of the stitching for a slightly different look.

I Spy... Flowers!

Hi everyone!

Just thought I would let you know I posted another project over at the TSG Blog for Dollar Find Friday. I thought I would share a couple of the pictures here, however there are more details at the TSG Blog on how I decorated the box.

Here is a shot of the top of the box. It is covered in flowery goodness. The middle one is made from felt. I purchased a big stack of various colors of a wool blend felt from Giant Dwarf at Etsy. I just like to stare at all of the colors. Oh my... so pretty! However I did cut into a sheet of it for this project. ;)

I used the Flowers of Happiness and Polka Dot Pals (new release!) stamp sets to decorate the box.

So what do you think? Too much? Too little? Just the right amount of flower power? ;)

Hay, Chick!

Hello chickies! I have another sweet card using an Anna Wight Cling Set called Sunnyside Up to share with you today. This one is a little light (at least for me) on the fuss and muss and there isn't even any glitter. Did a double take on that one, didn't you? :)


Main image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. The apple basket was stamped on another piece of white cardstock, colored, cut out and then mounted on the first image with dimensionals. The sentiment "Hay, chick!" was stamped on Pink Pirouette cardstock and cut out with a 1 3/8" circle punch.



Hmm... I think those apples are crying out for a little Crystal Effects but I'll resist. :D
