That's Just Crappie! But Good Crappie ;)

Hi all! I finally had a chance to make a card using this month's SFYTT which you can see below. It was also the perfect opportunity the ink up a new stamp that I've had for a couple of months. The stamp set? None other than Something's Fishy from MFT. I've been wanting to color this fat fishy with my PrismaColor pencils and oh yay it was as fun as I imagined. :) Once colored I applied a bit Icicle Stickles to the fins and outlined the fishing line with a silver Copic Spica pen.

I did use my Copics to draw a bit of ground/grass near her feat and to color her arms, face and legs. Me likey! What do you think?

P.S. I didn't use my sewing machine at all! Shocking! Just shocking! ;)

Recipe:
Stamps: Something's Fishy (MFT).
Paper: Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory (SU!), white and Summer Sunshine (PTI), Dutch Mustard designer (Jillibean Sou).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic markers, Copic Spica pen, PrismaColor Pencils.
Accessories: Icicle Stickles (Ranger), mat pack, paper piercier, foam dimensionals, ribbon and twine (May Arts), Cream glitter dots (Pebbles).

SCRSC36: Spring Flowers

Hello Crafty Peeps! Hope your week has been fantastic so far... maybe some sunshine and blue skys? Yesterday was bright and beautiful but cold! Brrr... I'm ready for Spring! Speaking of Spring, this week's Sparkle Creations challenge is anything Spring! One of the first things that comes to mind when I think of Spring is flowers! So for today's card I used the pretty Lantern Rin, a bit of floral designer paper and a delightful paper rosette. :)

I changed things up a bit and colored Rin with Copic markers and accented with Copic Spica pens in a few spots. Then I whipped out the Glossy Accents and glitter. I even used them on the paper rosette. The "thank you" sentiment is from the SU! set Short & Sweet. Such a sweety - dontcha agree?

March Blast From the Past Hop: Spring Thoughts

Hello everyone! I'm back again today with a sweet card I made for the March Blast From the Past Blog Hop for Taylored Expressions. The theme for today - Spring!

*** Scroll down just a bit to see my There She Goes blog hop post. :) ***

At the end of winter I'm always excited to see the return of birds! Because I know shortly after their arrival Spring will be here! So I had to use some little birdies from the Branchin' Out set on my card to celebrate the return of Spring (bye-bye snow!).

I stamped a branch and the birdies from the set in Memento Tuxedo Black on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the birdhouse on another piece of white card stock, colored and cut out. I adhered to the main panel with dimensionals.

I applied Glossy Accents to the leaves and strategic parts of the birds and bird house. I added a bit of glitter to the later. I added a little string of twine between the branch and the bird house... can't just have it floating out in space... unless it is a bird house that can hover. ;)

I accented the main image with a little ribbon tab and a corduroy button twined with another length of the twine. So what do you think? Does it make you think of Spring too?

For more Spring goodness check out the rest of the blog hoppers:

Recipe:
Stamps: Branchin' Out (Taylored Expressions).
Paper: Ocean Tides, white (PTI), Early Espresson (SU!), Stella Rose - Hattie and Mable (My Mind's Eye).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers.
Accessories: Ribbon, corduroy brad (SU!), Glossy Accents (Ranger), glitter (Martha Stewart), twine (May Arts), foam dimensionals, heavy duty white thread and sewing machine, adhesive rhinestones (KaiserCraft).

TSG Sneak Peeks Day 2: Technology and Tulips

Hello everyone! Today is the second day of previews for There She Goes! Hopefully you hopped here from Corinna's blog. If not, head over to the TSG Blog and start the hop there. You wouldn't want to miss out on any eye candy, would you?

We are sharing samples made with two new stamp sets. The first is Technology Bytes illustrated by our fearless leader Jessica.

Technology Bytes is a 4x8 stamp set that includes a total of 20 stamps and will sell for $18. It is full of ridiculously funny (and a bit audacious) sayings and the techno toys to match. :)

Would you like a chance to win the Technology Bytes stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Technology Bytes Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of the Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Technology Bytes stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (Mar 26th) during the Release Party Chat.

I don't have a sample using this set for today... but I will soon... very soon. ;)

Next up is sweet Tulip mini stamp set.

This new set from Chris Dark showcases her flawless and realistic illustration of a single tulip and is paired with several sentiments that coordinate with the image. This set is a must-have for any flower lover! Tulip is a 3x4 stamp set that includes a total of 8 stamps and will sell for $7.
I used the tulip image and one of the matching sentiments to make this Spring-influenced card. I'm really ready for Spring... but as I write this my area is under an ice storm watch. Bleh.

I stamped the tulip and colored with Copic markers. I finished with a bit of Glossy Accents and Glitter. Some pretty matching designer paper and a big crocheted flower were perfect accents for the elegant tulip.

Hop on over to Holly's Blog for more eye candy and don't forget to return tomorrow for another sneak peek. :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Tulip (There She Goes Clear Stamps).
Paper: Hibiscus Burst, Sweet Blossom, white(PTI), Early Espresso (SU!), designer (Cosmo Cricket).

SCRSC35: Colors of Spring

Hello! This week's Sparkle Creations challenge is a doozy - at least for me! It is to use the color combo: pink, orange and lime green. It was work but I managed to make the colors work together and came up with this card:

Okay, I admit it - I cheated a bit with the orange and used very little of it. ;) I stamped Celebrating Chloe in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with PrismaColor pencils. Per my usual style I had to add Glossy Accents to the balloons and dust with glitter.

So what do you think? Cute or what?! And speaking of cute, Sparkle is having a sale on the utterly adorable Rin stamps to raise money for Japan. I LOVE Lantern Rin... and in fact I used her on a card... for next week's challenge but you will have to wait until then to see it. Heh heh ;)

Organization Fun!

Hi Peeps!

I have a different kind of crafty post tonight. I've picked up a few items over the last couple of months to organize my crafty *stuff* a bit better and thought you might enjoy seeing them. :)

First up is a Ribbon Carousel that I just purchased. My crafty friend Corinne designed this delightful contraption and I just had to have one when she started selling them recently. Had to have one! I loaded mine up with the spools of SU! ribbon and might have to buy another for my PTI collection of ribbon. Oh, and it not only looks pretty and is functional but it is FUN to spin. Yes, I'm one of those people who loves to spin around in my office chair too. Hee hee hee. :)

Do you see the cubbie shelf hanging on my wall?! My dad made that for me per my request. My dad is AWESOME with the wood working tools - he's crafty in his own way. ;) I'm using it for both storage and display. Yes, that is polka dot ribbon from May Arts... it's an illness, but a good one. I have a bunch of my favorite projects on display and it holds all of my Colorbox Chalk Fluid ink pads and some SU! ink pads.

Oh yeah... this is Wall Cubbie Extra Cool. My dad decided to up the neat factor and created this one to fit in the corner of my craft room. He has also made me a third one that is a couple rows shorter to fit in yet another corner. Umm... yes that is yet more ribbon there (blushing in embarassment).

Last up are the Color Cubbies I added to my collection earlier in the year. I had a picture of my messy desk and these were in the shot... ohhhhh... I think all of you like pics of the crafty organization stuff based on the emails I received. ;)

Hope you enjoyed the peek into my crafting space!

SCRSC34: Lemons and Limes

Hello!

I'm back today with a card I made for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps' challenge this week. The challenge? To use this photo of some lovely lawn furniture from Pottery Barn as your inspiration.

I decided to pull some colors from the picture and use them as a color scheme for my card. I stamped Traveling Josh in Memento Tuxedo Black on white cardstock and colored with PrismaColor pencils before cutting out. I layered Josh on a circle of Daffodil Delight card stock that I had added dots of Lemon Liquid Pearls.

I cut a couple pieces of Stella Rose designer paper and matted on Early Espresso cardstock before stitching the edges with my sewing machine. I also matted the Daffodil Delight circle on an every so slightly larger lacey circle cut from more of the Early Espresso. To finish a sentiment was stamped on Karft cardstock and the corners rounded.

TSG98: Good Times with the Bunnies

Hello!

I'm checking in with a card I made for this week's TSG Challenge - a sketch challenge by me! ;) For all of the challenge details including how you can win a prize check out the TSG Blog.

Here is my take on the sketch using the new Good Times set and some pretty designer paper from Echo Park. I went with a color scheme of pink and teal with a bit of dark brown and green. Pink AND teal - not a color pairing I would normally touch with a 10 foot pole but it works for this card. :)

After stamping and coloring the clock image I added a bit of Glossy Accents and a dusting of Crystal Fine Glitter. I stamped the bunny on a seperate piece of white cardstock, colored, cut out and adhered to the main panel with foam dimensionals.

I dug through my stash of pretty things and pulled out a pink flower I crocheted a while ago and after adding a button with twine added to the card with a super sticky 3D glue dot.

Later gators... tomorrow will be here soon (daylight savings time - boo!) and I need to catch some zzzzzs.

Recipe:
Stamps: Good Times (There She Goes Clear Stamps).
Paper: Taken With Teal, Early Espresso (SU!), Sweet Blush (PTI), Choice Snow White (TE), designer (Echo Park).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.
Accessories: heavy duty white thread and sewing machine, button, crocheted flower, edger punch (SU!), brads, Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), Crystal Fine Glitter (Martha Stewart), Glossy Accents (Ranger), foam dimensionals, Divine Twine.

An Eggs-cuse for Chocolate

Hi all!

I'm checking in tonight with a sweet Easter card I made awhile ago with one of the new stamps from Whipper Snapper. My thoughts on the duckie in bunny ears? FUN! :)

I colored the image with Copic markers and then diecut with a Circle Nestabilities die. I layered on matching light purple cardstock and added some dots of White Opal Liquid Pearls. I kept the layout simple and just added a bit of ribbon and a button for decoration. :)

Hmmm... this card reminds me of the chocolate peanut butter eggs in my craft room... :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Bunny Wannabe, Eggs-cuse (Whipper Snapper Designs).
Paper: Naturals Ivory (SU!), Lavender Moon (PTI), white, designer (My Mind's Eye).
Ink: Black, Copic markers.
Accessories: Lacey Scallop Circle and Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), White Opal Liquid Pearls (Ranger), ribbon (May Arts), foam dimensionals, heavy duty white thread and sewing machine, button.

SCRS Sneak Peek of Rollerblading Chloe

Hi Crafty Friends,

I'm back today with another peek at another new stamp from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps: Rollerblading Chloe. She and Kitty Kat Josh from yesterday will be available in the store for purchase today. :)

For my card today I went with a very clean look: light pinks, lots of white space and a few splashes of color. After stamping Chloe I colored her with PrismaColor pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. I added just a touch of glitter to portions of the image using Copic Spica pens. I think I've used glitter in some form or another on every project this last month... addiction!

If you look closely you will see that not only did I add a bit of scallop trim to the bottom of the image I also used the same punch on a bit of designer paper that peeks from beneath the Espresso satin ribbon. A little pink Divine Twine and a couple of pink brads finished the look.

For more eye candy, be sure to visit the rest of the SCRS designers for more peeks of Rollerblading Chloe. Sparkle will be giving away a Rollerblading Chloe to one lucky person! SCRS Sneak Peek of Kitty Cat Josh

Hello!

I have a sweet peek at a new stamp from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps: Kitty Cat Josh! He is adorable and the kitty is a real cutie! I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black on white cardstock and colored with PrismaColor pencils and OMS. I added a touch of glitter to the orange bow on the cat - my cats would not be impressed with wearing a bow. ;)

I accented the main image with a bit of ribbon, twine and a glittery brad. I stamped the cute "what's mew?" sentiment that comes with the image on Ocean Tides cardstock and layered on Early Espresso. I flagged the ends and added a couple of glittery brads before attaching to the card base with 3-dimensional glue dots.

For more eye candy, be sure to visit the rest of the SCRS designers for more peeks of Kitty Cat Josh. Sparkle will be giving away a Kitty Cat Josh to one lucky person! SCRSC33: Thanks For Making Me Smile

Hello Crafty Friends,

I'm checking in today with a fun card I made for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps' challenge this week. The challenge? To use this fabulous sketch:

For my card I used the delightful Latern Rin image and more of the Stella Rose designer paper from My Mind's Eye. I used the colors from the paper to inspire my PrismaColor pencil coloring of Rin. I went with vibrant and lush. Nicey Nice!

After coloring and trimming the image I added a touch of gloss to the latern and the flower in her hair. I used my sewing machine to stitch the various pieces of designer paper to coordinating cardstock and accented with a couple of Aqua glitter brads and a bit of green striped ribbon. To finish a match sentiment was added and everything was adhered to a Poppy card base.

TSG97: Get a Little Krafty

Hey Peeps -

I'm actually ahead of the game this week and have my take on the TSG challenge done... on time! I'm trying to not fall off the couch with shock as I type this. :)

The details: this week’s challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the Week, Jodi. She has issued a challenge to use KRAFT CARDSTOCK somewhere in your creation. You can use it as card base or as mats to your different layers, or as your focal panel, or you can create a masterpiece that showcases only Kraft…the choices are endless! I chose to use a bit of Kraft cardstock for the focal image of my card. :)

To be eligible for the giveaway, all you need to do is create a card that incorporates Kraft Cardstock, and then head over to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of the challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (Mar 14th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store! Which maybe you can use to buy the fantastic Day or Night stamp set - because I just know you are going to want it after seeing my little yellow house. ;)

I wanted to show you all of the dimension on the little house, thus this second photo. After stamping the house on the Kraft card stock I stamped it two more times on white card stock and colored portions of both with markers. I then cut out the house of the first and just the roof of the second image and layered them over the Kraft card stock with foam dimensionals. Also you can see in this picture how I ruffled the yellow polka dot ribbon before sewing in place. Hmmm... yes, many dimensionals were sacrificed in the making of this card. Hee hee hee!

And a final shot of the card so you can see the glitter I added with Copic Spica pens. Oh - a bit of Glossy Accents was added to the itty bitty windows.

Now, I hope that you didn't make the leap from Yellow House to Yellow Submarine like I did. If so, you probably have the Yellow Submarine song by the Beattles playing in your head... on loop. Gack! Please don't hate me. ;)

Recipe:
Stamps: Day or Night (There She Goes Clear Stamps).
Paper: Kraft, Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory (SU!), Lemon Tart (PTI), Choice Snow White (TE), Stella Rose - Gertie designer (My Mind's Eye).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers, Copic Spica pens.
Accessories: Lemon Liquid Pearls and Glossy Accents (Ranger), Divine Twine, Lemon Tart polka dot ribbon (PTI), Labels Dies (Spellbinders), heavy duty white thread and sewing machine, Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), foam dimensionals, brads (Recollections).
