For my first card I used the new Birds of a Feather stamp set and the matching Branch & Bird dies.  Birds of a Feather is a full sized stamp set on a 5.75” x 8.5” sturdy storage panel and includes 21 images/sentiments.  Nancy McKinney illustrated this lovely addition to the Whimsical Wishes Line of stamp sets.  Whether you prefer CAS, cutesy, elegant or shabby this set will be a perfect addition to your collection.

BirdsOfAFeather_Thursday_DanielleLounds

I stamped one of the bird cage images from the set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Choice Snow White cardstock.  I then die cut a couple of little birdies using the matching die and added them to the image using foam dimensionals.  A little Liquid Pearls and a touch of coloring with a W1 Copic markers and the focal image was done… easy peasy!  I did kick the card up a notch with plenty of designer paper and some ribbon but I think my focal image would have looked great on a simple Kraft card base too!

BirdsOfAFeather_Thursday_Closeup_DanielleLounds

For my second card I used the latest addition to the Moka collection: Moka Taylor!  Nancy has done it again and created another fabulous Moka chic.  She also illustrated another Moka: Moka Justin (you just gotta see him… he is quite the cool guy!).  Each of the Mokas comes on a 3” x 5.5” sturdy storage panel and there are matching sentiment stamps included with each set.

MokaTaylor_Thursday_DanielleLounds

For my card I used Taylor and one of the sentiments from the set to create a Happy Birthday card.  I also created some fun star accents using the new Seeing Stars die set.  If the layout of my card looks familiar I used Karen Giron’s Sweet Sunday Sketch from earlier this week. :)  Did you notice something different about this card?  There is no ribbon, twine or jute.  Wowsa!

TE Sneak Peeks: Flying By and Have a Wild Day!

 WednesdayJune29th

July Release At a Glance

  • We have sneak peeks to share Wednesday and Thursday.  All of the new products will be available for purchase on Friday, July 1st at 8 am PST. You'll find it all in the Fresh out of the Oven Department at the Taylored Expressions Store.

I’m sharing two cards today.  The first uses the In the Clouds stamp set and the new Clouds Border Die and Blimps and Banners DiesIn the Clouds is a full sized set on a 5.75” x 8.5” sturdy storage panel.  Nancy McKinney illustrated this set as part of the Whimsical Wishes line.  The set includes 7 different blimp images, a few accessory images, a couple of banners and oodles of different sentiments!  I think this is my new go to set for birthdays and thinking of you cards.  There is a fabulous belated birthday sentiment that I am sure I will use over and over!  And get this the flag/banners in this set will work with the Banner Day 1 and Banner Day 3 stamp sets.  Bonus!

InTheClouds_Wednesday_DanielleLounds

For my card I stamped one of the blimp images five times on Choice Snow White cardstock and die cut using the Blimps and Banners Dies.  After cutting I colored each of the images with Copic markers and added Glossy Accents to the windows.  Next I cut a strip of Soft Sky cardstock using the Clouds Border die.  I LOVE these dies.  You can even use the border die to sponge a cool cloud background – that is next on my list of things to try. :)  I kept the rest of the card simple… very simple for me.  I think it turned out great but the urge to add sewing or some other kind of bling almost overwhelmed me but I persevered and stayed strong. ;)

InTheClouds_Wednesday_Closeup_DanielleLounds

For my second card I used the Life is a Circus stamp set and the Stars Border die!  Life is a Circus is another full sized stamp set on a sturdy full color storage panel.  Doug Applegate illustrated the set for the Apple Doodle Ink line.  The set is full of fun circus images and matching sentiments.  Hee… I feel just like a kid playing with this set.  Only downside is that I am now craving a bag of cotton candy! LOL!

LifeIsACircus_Wednesday_DanielleLounds

I stamped the lion image from the set on Choice Snow White cardstock twice, colored and cut out with scissors.  I layered the head from the second image on top of the first for extra dimension.  I attached him to circular piece of cardstock (die cut with a Nestabilities Circle die) and stamped a matching sentiment.  RAWR!  To accent the card I cut a strip from dark brown felt using the Stars Border die.  It was a bit longer than I wanted so I trimmed it a bit.  A bit of designer paper, some sparkly Candy Dots and Liquid Pearls and I was finished.

LifeIsACircus_Wednesday_Closeup_DanielleLounds

Whew!  So much fun stuff to share and I didn’t even have a chance to use everything we are sneak peeking today!  There is also a fabulous Clouds Taylored Impression Plate which is a m a z i n g and a set of Seeing Stars dies which I used on one of tomorrow’s samples. So to see more samples using the new TE stamp sets and fabulous new dies check out the rest of the design team:

Happy Days

Hi all!

I’m checking in with a fun farming card that I made last week.  I was inspired to make this card after planting a bunch of cucumber seeds.  I don’t have a real garden but I do have a bunch of planters on my deck.  Instead of planting flowers I filled them with yummy vegetable plants: green peppers and cucumbers mostly. ;)

HappyDaysFarmer_DLounds

I stamped Farming Oliver in Memento Tuxedo Black in and colored with PrismaColor pencils.  The grass was colored with Copic markers.  I added just a touch of Glossy Accents to the hoe. :)

HappyDaysFarmer_Closeup_DLounds

Do you garden?  If so, what is your favorite veggie (or fruit) to grow?

Recipe:
Stamps: Farming Oliver (Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps), sentiment (My Favorite Things).
Paper: River Rock, Early Espresso (SU!), Choice Snow White (TE), designer (My Mind’s Eye).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers, PrismaColor pencils and OMS.
Accessories: Vintage Seam Binding, spiral brads (Karen Foster), Bisque Liquid Pearls and Glossy Accents (Ranger), foam dimensionals.

Hay There!

So I have to admit that it took me two hours to write this blog post.  Why?  Because I stopped after uploading the pictures to do a quick Facebook check.  Not the smartest thing I’ve done!  Because one of my peeps on Facebook had a link to a funny blog post.  And it was very funny so of course I had to read more.  And then I clicked on a link from there to another blog and you all know what happened next… an hour of my evening lost to the interwebs… clicking on one link after another… quality time all around. Good thing I made this card before I went blog surfing, otherwise there would be no card for me to share today. Heh heh. ;)

 HayThere_FarmScene_DLounds

I created a farm scene using the new Green Acres stamp set from Taylored Expressions.  The inside of the card is blank so you will just have to imagine the amazing conversation that the horse and chicken on the front are having.  It might go something like:

Horse: “Neigh.”

Chicken: “Cluck cluck.”

Yeah, they rock the social circuit. ;)

HayThere_FarmScene_Closeup_DLounds

Of course, now that you have seen the close-up and how the chicken is groovin’ a sparkly do (courtesy of Copic Spica pens and Glossy Accents) you might be imagining a dialogue with a bit more pizzazz. ;)

Chicken: “Know where the chicks are?”

Horse: “Neigh.”

Mr. Horse isn’t the helpful type (snicker).  Got any ideas for a good horse/chicken convo leave ‘em in the comments for everyone to read. :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Green Acres (Taylored Expressions).

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers, Copic Spica pens.

June Blast from the Past Hop

Today I’m participating in Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past blog hop.  It is a monthly hop for customers of TE… and it is the perfect opportunity to dust off your older TE stamps and show ‘em some lovin’. ;)

So the theme for this month is “Old Glory.”   Break out the red, white and blue and create!  I did add green… but that was only because I thought a blue apple tree would look a little odd. ;) For my card I used Branching Out and the apple from Branching Out Coordinates.

OldGlory_ThinkingOfYou_DLounds

I stamped the tree in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with green Copic markers before cutting out.  I then stamped a bunch of little apples, colored and cut them out.  After attaching to the main tree I added Glossy Accents and glitter and a bit more Glossy Accents to the leaves.

OldGlory_ThinkingOfYou_Closeup_DLounds

Here are the entries from the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past blog hop for more inspiration!  Hello red, white and blue! :)

GreatToSeaYou_DLounds

I stamped the sweet mermaid image on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  I accented the image with Copic Spica pens (see those fun fishy scales I added?).  While I colored the main image with brighter colors I kept the rest of the card a bit muted.  I’m loving soft colors right now! :)  As usual I added Liquid Pearls and a bit of Glossy Accents.  Hmm… I could buy these in bulk considering how much I use them!

TSG Sneak Peek Blog Hop: The Fairy Best

The Fairy Best Blog Hop Challenge

Hello all!  Today is the first day of sneak peeks for There She Goes clear stamps.  The design team is throwing a blog hop to share samples we created using the first of four stamp sets that will be released this Saturday.  The hop started at the TSG Blog, so head over there if you haven’t already.  If you came from Corinna’s blog than you are in the right place!

Last month Di wowed us with a sweet prince and princess set and this month she is back with another fabulous one: The Fairy Best.

Designs by Di

The Fairy Best is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 13 stamps and will sell for $18.

Would you like a chance to win The Fairy Best stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their The Fairy Best Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own The Fairy Best stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (June 25th) during the Release Party Chat.

For my card I used the uber cute image of a fuzzy little bunny sitting on a toadstool.  Ack!  The fairies are darling but I just couldn’t resist the bunny.  So CUTE!  I stamped the sweet bunny in black and colored with Copic markers.

FabulousDayBunny_DLounds

I accented my card with a bit of ivory seam binding and decorated the main image panel with Bisque Liquid Pearls after sponging the edges with Distress Ink.  For the matted layers I distressed the edges and then sewed them in place using my sewing machine. I love how the soft colors of this card turned out.  Just as I pictured! :)

FabulousDayBunny_Closeup_DLounds

And now that you have taken a look-see at my creation how about hopping over to the next stop, the talented Di (the fabulous illustrator of today’s set)?  I’m sure she will have something amazing to share!

RCC8: Color It In Challenge!

RCC8

Hello everyone!  This week’s Ribbon Carousel Challenge is to Color You World.  Break out your line art stamps and have fun coloring!  You can use colored pencils, markers, water coloring… whatever you like as long as you can color with it! :)  Of course we are huge fans of ribbon at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog so your creation must also include ribbon, twine, jute or some other nifty stuff that could be wound on a spool.

RCC8_CupcakeRuby_DLounds

For my card I used this super cute Cupcake Ruby stamp from Sparkle Creations and some delightful twine that I picked up at the Ribbon Carousel Shop.  I colored Ruby with PrismaColor pencils and blended with OMS (odorless mineral spirits).  It had been a while since I used my pencils so I thought this was the perfect opportunity! :)

Many Thanks

Hello!  Been a while… but I’ve been a busy bee making this sweet card using Buckets of Love from There She Goes Clear stamps.  The sentiment is from the Clearly Sentimental stamp set.  Isn’t it pretty?  And wouldn’t the bees just love that bucket of flowers?  Speaking of bees I have a carpenter bee making its home in my deck.  Yes – in my deck!  Little pest bored a hole into one of the wood planks that makes up the deck.  Grouch grouch grouch.

ManyThanks_BucketOfFlowers

But enough about the bees and onto the flowers. ;)  I stamped the bucket and the flowers (stamped twice for layering) and colored them with Copic markers.  I added a bit of glitter and Glossy Accents to the hearts after trimming and layering the images.  The layout is the June SFYTT from i{heart}2stamp.com and the delicious designer papers are from the Stella Rose – Hazel 6x6 pad of paper.  I’ve used so much paper from this set that I might actually use the whole pad.  What a shocker?!

ManyThanks_BucketOfFlowers_Closeup

I tied some pretty May Arts ribbon around the card and attached a tag with jute.  I purchased the striped twill ribbon from my friend Corinna’s shop: RibbonCarousel.com.  I, ahem, may have ordered a few other ribbons while I was at it. ;)

ManyThanks_BucketOfFlowers_Closeup2

Well, I gotta buzz… so many chores to do! ;)

Birthday Party Across the Miles

taylor-birthday blinkie

Hello! Welcome to this Fantasy Birthday Tour for my sweet friend Taylor VanBruggen.  Since we couldn't all be together today to throw a party we're having a virtual Birthday Party Across the Miles and everyone is invited to come along!  And what's a fantasy party without fantasy gifts?  If money were no object, this would be my gift to you Taylor… an incredibly fun pendant called Peace Love and Cupcakes by Elisa Gomez.  Gah… so cute!

CupcakePendent_ElisaGomez

Hopefully you came here from Dawn Easton's blog, but if you didn't you might want to start this Fantasy Birthday Tour at the beginning on Jami Sibley's blog.  Next up is the talented Charmaine Ikach."

Even though I didn’t buy the necklace I did make a super special card for Taylor and actually mailed it.  On Thursday morning… so it may have arrived on time.   I used Friendship Blooms to create a cheery flower scene and the sentiment is from Labels of Love.

BirthdayWishesForTaylor

After stamping, coloring and cutting out the flowers I added Turquoise Glitter Candy Dots to the flower centers and then added Glossy Accents and Crystal Fine Glitter.

BirthdayWishesForTaylor_Closeup

Next up on the blog hop is Charmaine Ikach!  And don’t forget to leave a little love for Taylor at her blog!  Happy Birthday Taylor! :)

Stamps: Friendship Blooms, Labels of Love (Taylored Expressions).
Paper: Soft Sky, Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory (SU!), Choice Buttercream (TE).
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic markers.

Thank You Gift Card Holder

Hello!  I’m popping in today with a sweet Thank You gift card holder I made using this fun Gift Card Holder tutorial from SCS.  I made a couple of these gift card holders a while ago and loved them.  While sorting through my crafty stash I found some small coin envelopes and decided it was about time to make another. :)

ThankYouGiftCardHolder_DLounds

I used the new Forever stamp set from There She Goes and some delightful My Mind’s Eye designer paper to decorate the front.

ThankYouGiftCardHolder_Closeup_DLounds

After coloring the flowers and trimming I coated the petals with Glossy Accents and dusted with Crystal Fine Glitter.  I know, I know… I just can’t resist using the Glossy Accents and glitter. ;)

ThankYouGiftCardHolder_Open_DLounds

The decorated front panel was only attached to the holder on the left side.  So the flap off the back is tucked between the pink and black layers of the front.  Keeps all the contents safe and secure. :)

ThankYouGiftCardHolder_PocketView_DLounds

And there are two coin envelopes on the inside.  One will hold the gift card (no gift cards in my photo shoot) and the second holds a decorated insert that a note can be written on.

ThankYouGiftCardHolder_InsertView_DLounds

There you have it!  One special gift card holder.  Let me know what you think. :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Forever (There She Goes Clear Stamps).
Paper: Sweet Blush (PTI), Razzleberry, Basic Black (SU!), Choice Snow White (TE), Lime Twist – Happy Go Lucky designer (My Mind’s Eye).

RCC6: Getting Sketchy with ME!

Hello everyone!  I’m checking in with a Ribbon Carousel Challenge… this time a sketchy one!  Don’t you just love a good sketch challenge?! It’s a great place to start your creation. So this week I’m sharing one of my “Go To” sketches!

Blank Challenge

We’d love for you to participate!!! Make sure you link up with us using the linking tool at the bottom of the Ribbon Carousel Challenge page. If you are uploading to an online gallery, make sure you use the keyword RCC6. You don’t need a blog to participate in our challenge and each week, the Carousel Crew members vote for their “Top Spools”. Maybe this week, it’ll be you!  Head over to the Ribbon Carousel Challenge blog for all of the details on the contest and to find some pretty pictures of the creations by the design team! :)

For my card this week I used a cute image from Whipper Snapper Designs that I have had for a couple of months… and this is its first time seeing ink.  I’m neglecting my cute stamps again.  So sad… but hopefully this card will make up for it! :)

RCC6_SnailMail_DLounds

I stamped the image on ivory cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  I added a touch of glitter to the hearts and flowers using Copic Spica pens.  I also added a touch of Glossy Accents to the flowers and the bird.  Once dry the image was trimmed and matted on Early Espresso cardstock before adding Bisque Liquid Pearls along the edges.

RCC6_SnailMail_Closeup_DLounds

For my ribbon I used a bit of Summer Sunrise poly-twill ribbon and then attached a button over it using some jute.  More jute was used to sew another button to a crocheted flower (btw - I’ve added some of these flowers to my Etsy shop).  The pretty designer papers are from a 6x6 Stella Rose – Hazel paper pad by My Mind’s Eye.

RCC6_SnailMail_FlowerCloseup_DLounds

I hope you enjoyed my card and my sketch.  We’d love to have you participate in the challenge.  *** We just ask that your creation include ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine or lace (basically anything that comes on a spool). *** :)
