Christmas Tags 2011: Candy Cane Kisses

Brr.  It is time to break out the hot chocolate, fuzzy slipper socks, and sweaters because my house is cold… and I refuse to turn on the furnace… yet. ;)  So to celebrate the turn in the weather how about a set of Christmas tags?  I’ve been busy in my craft room making oodles of tags but I’ve been neglecting sharing them with you.  Sigh… bad blogger!  Bad! 

Now that I have chastised myself how about I show you the first set!  Here you go:

I used the Candy Cane Kisses a la modes set from MFT for the main image and the sentiment.  The designer paper is an older line from Basic Grey.  I bought a whole 12” x 12” collection of this paper last year and I think it will last me forever. ;)

After I stamped, colored, and cut out the main image I coated the candy cane with Illuminate Glitter Top Coat Smooch.  Makes for a super delicious looking Christmas treat.  Hmm… if it were real it would go perfectly with my cup of hot cocoa! ;)

I stamped the sentiment on Naturals White cardstock and cut out with a small oval punch.  After knotting the burgundy striped ribbon around the panel I tied a length of twine around the knot of the bow.  I then attached the sentiment to the twine with a small jump ring (you can find these in the jewelry section of most craft stores).

So what do you think?  Do you like the first set of tags?  What would you think if I told you that I have another four sets of them to share?  Heh heh… so check back over the next week or so to see the rest of the tags.  Oh, I think some of these tags could use a new home.  Perhaps I might (hint hint) select some random person from the comments on my tag posts to win a set (1 of each of the five designs).  :)

RCC22: Alter It!

Have you ever thought of all the different things you can do with your spooled items? You can scrunch it, sew it, pucker it, fold it, make flowers and embellishments with it! So Jessie wants us to alter your spooled item for this week’s Ribbon Carousel Challenge (RCC22).

For my project I decorated a metal tin I’ve had a while with one of the 2 1/2” Glubers.  I created a green rolled flower by adding V-Striped Celery Twill Ribbon (I love this line of ribbon – LOVE!).  After adhering the flower to the matted designer paper I added a big grey corduroy brad to the center and tucked some die cut leaves behind it.

The pattern of the ribbon makes for an interesting flower with lots of texture (I told you I loved this ribbon!).

The sentiment and little girl are from the recently released Pure Innocence – Feelin’ Froggy stamp set from My Favorite Things.  For the panels I layered Victoria Gardens designer paper on Black Cardstock and added dots of pink Liquid Pearls along the edges.

A Witch and Her Little Bat Friend

What do you get when you pair a little witch and her bat pal?  A spooky but cute Halloween card!   These fun images are from the recently released Fangtastic stamp set from Taylored Expressions. 

I stamped the girl image in Memento Tuxedo Black on white cardstock, colored and cut out.  I stamped her a second time on green cardstock and also stamped some spooky trees.  I colored the broom stamped on the background with Copic markers and then cut out the scene using a Circle Nesatabilities die.  I stamped the bat from the same set on another piece of white cardstock, colored and cut out.

The cut out images were adhered to the Circle panel using foam dimensionals (but first I lined the edge with Silver Liquid Pearls).  The rest of the card is pretty simple – but if you have questions just let me know! :)

Btw – tying that ribbon took me forever… should have used the Bow Easy. ;)

Wish Big Petal Card

Hello!  So, I don’t usually go the technique route on my cards but I saw the most adorable Petal Card tutorial created by Beate for Split Coast Stampers. So cute that I immediately added a petal card to my To Do list!  Of course, I needed the perfect image and thought the Pure Innocence – Believe in Magic would do the trick. :)

And here is my finished project…

I stamped the little girl in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copic markes.  I paper pieced the upper portion of her dance outfit with some designer paper and added glitter to her wings.  Next I cut her out and added a sparkly pink rhinestone to her wand.  Once I finished decorating the belly band that keeps the petal card closed I attached her using foam dimensionals dots.

Sparkly Halloween Moon

Wow… this week has been flying by and it is already Wednesday.  Next thing you know Fall will be here and one of my favorite Holidays will arrive: Halloween.  I have to admit that I have a blast using my Halloween stamps and making cute little projects with witches and vampires and little kids all dressed up.  So much fun that I’ve been tempted to add a few new witchy stamps to my collection.  Heh heh.  But before I do that I have to use some of the ones I already have including the cuppie witch from Trick or Sweet that I used on this card:

I recently added a couple of packages of Glubers (by Cosmo Cricket) to my arsenal of adhesives and thought it would be neat to use one of the circles to create a sparkly moon!  I stuck one of the dots to a circle of black cardstock I cut out with a Pinking Circle Die and then covered it with some orange Halloween metallic glitter.  Swoon – I’m loving this! :)

For my project this week I made a set of punny Halloween tags (they are a bit on the edgy side but I hope you find them funny!):

For my tags I used the vampire from Hauntingly Delightful (There She Goes) and stamped him in black ink and colored with Copic markers.  I then cut him out… but he needed a little something more.  So I coated his hair and teeth with Illuminate Smooch for a slick glittery finish… oh Suave Vampire! ;)

Now for the punny part… I stamped a couple of sentiments from the same stamp set on Kraft cardstock and punched them out with a small oval punch. These little sayings crack me up and I have a few friends that these tags would be perfect for.  Heh heh heh!

I accented the tags with some older Imaginisce designer paper and some yummy May Arts ribbon and twine from the September Ribbon Club Kit. I also added a bit of black fencing cut out with the Spooky Border Die from Taylored Expressions.

Happy Fall

I’m back.  I have a Fall card to share tonight.  I’ve been on a Halloween kick while crafting lately (oh do I have some spooky projects to share!) but I switched gears for a bit to make this sweet card using a Pure Innocence stamp from MFT.  I love these little girls and they are so easy to paper piece! :) 

I paper pieced her dress with some new My Mind’s Eye designer paper and colored the rest of the image with Copic markers.  I added a little rhinestone to the heart on her dress and added dots to her cheeks with a white gel pen.  I then cut her out with scissors and adhered to the main panel with foam dimensionals.  And of course I added Liquid Pearls. ;)

Just a Purple Witch

Hello!  How was your week?  Hope it was great!  Mine was busy with work but I did find some crafty time to make a couple of Halloween cards.  I also found time to download the Yahtzee game onto my Kindle… big mistake… it is so very addictive! ;)  I finally tore myself away from the game and I’m here to share the first card. 

The fun witch image is Broomstick Lucy from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps and the sentiment is from a Anna Wight cling set from Whipper Snapper.  I colored the image with Copic markers and accented bits and pieces with Glossy Accents and Copic Spica glitter pens.  I trimmed the image and mounted on a circle cut from Kraft cardstock.  I added Silver Liquid Pearls along the edges.

See that fun black webbing behind the main image?  It is part of the September Ribbon Club Kit from the Ribbon Carousel store!  Nicey Nice!

Keeping It Simple: No Place Like Home

Hello!  Not only is it Friday but it is the beginning of a Holiday weekend.  Woo hoo!  If that isn’t enough to make me happy I have a Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting all baked and ready for eating. Nom nom nom!  And there are no raisins in it.  Not a single one!  I really don’t like raisins in my baked goods… yick!

But enough about cake and onto something crafty.  Here is another project that I attempted to keep simple.

I die cut a strip of grass and adhered to a blue background.  I then stamped the house image and the clouds.  The houses were stamped a second time on white cardstock, colored and cut out.  I added the colored houses to the scene with foam dimensionals and painted the clouds with Shimmerz glitter paint.  Once dry I rounded the top corners and sponged the edges with Whisper White Craft ink.

A little ribbon and some designer paper finished the card.  Oh and a sentiment… can’t forget that!  Because it was a simpler card I made four of them. :D

For my card today I used the new Fall a la Carte stamp – the squirrels are just so cute on this one. Fall a la Carte was designed for the Whimsical Wishes line by Nancy McKinney. It is perfect for cards, scrapbooking, seasonal home decor and more! :) I paired the cute image with some delicious new My Mind’s Eye designer paper. Nice!

I stamped the image on Choice Buttercream cardstock in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers.  I coated the leaves with Glossy Accents and glitter.  I cut the image out and popped it up on another piece of buttercream cardstock with foam dimensionals.
