RCC70: With Sympathy

Hello Crafty Friends -

It’s Tuesday and it is time for another Ribbon Carousel Challenge! :)

This week our fabulous Crewmate Andrea Ewen is our hostess with the mostess and she is challenging us to make a sympathy card. Head over to the Ribbon Carousel Blog to check out what the Ribbon Carousel Crewmates have done for this week's challenge and for all of the details on how you can participate and perhaps be chosen as a Top Spool!

For my card I used the Embrace Beauty stamp set from Taylored Expressions and created a rather shabby chic creations.  There is a lot of detail on the main image.  First I stamped in VersaMark on watercolor paper and then heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder.  I colored the image with various Distress Markers and a watercolor brush.  Once dry I cut out image using a Circle Nestabilities Die and sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress ink.  I then mounted on a scalloped circle cut out of Gold Coins cardstock and added dots of Peacock Liquid Pearls along the edge.

The rest of the card is pretty straight forward… lots of ribbons and some pretty designer paper that was stitched onto cardstock. ;)

That’s it for me.  Can’t wait to see the sympathy cards you make.

Stamps: Embrace Beauty (Taylored Expressions).
Paper: watercolor, Gold Coins, Candy Necklace (Bazzill Card Shoppe), Naturals Ivory and Black (SU!), The Sweetest Thing – Bluebell designer (My Mind’s Eye).
Ink: VersaMark, Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Markers (Ranger).
