Ho Ho Ho Ornament Tags

Hello everyone!

Are you excited for the weekend?  I am!  I don’t have any big plans but a lot of little ones: putting up the Christmas tree, some shopping for gifts and a whole bunch of crafting! :)  But before I bury myself in my craft room I have another set of gift tags to share.  This set features the Hohoho stamp set from There She Goes.

OrnamentWithReindeer_4Pack_DanielleLounds

These tags were inspired by this week’s There She Goes challenge, which is to use this picture for inspiration:

TSG183 Inspiration Challenge

I loved the bright pink curvy ornament hanging from the tree so I decided to make an ornament cut file and use that to make a set of tags. You can find all of the details on the challenge over at the TSG Blog (there is still time to play along!).

OrnamentWithReindeer_Single_DanielleLounds

The tag base was cut from a bright pink cardstock and the ornament topper was cut from metallic silver cardstock.  The larger oval was cut from aqua cardstock and the smaller oval from designer paper (Winter Fun by Carta Bella).

OrnamentWithReindeer_Closeup_DanielleLounds

The reindeer was stamped twice and both images were colored but I only kept the head from the second copy.  After cutting out the deer were adhered together using foam dimensionals.  I used a Silver Copic Spica pen on the bell and for extra glittery goodness I coated his nose with Glossy Accents and then dusted with Crystal Fine Glitter.  I didn’t do much embellishing; just polka dot ribbon from Taylored Expressions and clear rhinestones from Stampin’ Up!. And Divine Twine from Whisker Graphics.

OrnamentWithReindeer_Sideview_DanielleLounds

Here are the shapes I designed in the Silhouette software to make the tags.  If interested in making some of these just send me an email and I will share the file with you.  I just ask that you use the cut file for your personal use only. :)

That’s it for me!  Hope you enjoyed this project!

SCRSC93: Winter Fun

Hello everyone!

I’m a bit late with this week’s Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge but I finally finished my card.  Traveling for t-day threw me off a bit this week. ;)

SCRSC93_IceSkatingChloe_DanielleLounds

The challenge is to use the following sketch:

scrsc93

For all of the details on the challenge head over to the Sparkle Creations Blog. You can find Sparkle Creations stamps online at the store HERE.

SCRSC93_IceSkatingChloe_Closeup2_DanielleLounds

I inked up Ice Skating Chloe for my card and went with a very winter-y pallet for the color scheme.  Chloe was colored with Copic markers and I added Sparkly Fluff to the fluff balls on the scarf.  I also used a Silver Copic Spica pen to color the blade of her skate.

Happy 18th Birthday!

Hello Crafty Friends -

My niece turned eighteen recently and I knew I had to make her an extra special card.  Since she loves her Kindle I picked up an Amazon gift card and decided to incorporate that into the design (it did not take her long to find it!).

I decided to use Cupcake Ruby from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps and the “Happy Birthday” sentiment is from an MFT Pure Innocence stamp set.

SC_GiftCardHolderCard_DanielleLounds

Instead of coloring Ruby, I stamped her in black on Choice Snow White cardstock and cut out using a circle die.  I then misted the image with Pearl and Burgundy Glimmer Mists for a shimmery shine.  I did outline the image with a W2 copic marker for a bit of depth.  Once dry I layered on black cardstock and stitched the edges.

SC_GiftCardHolderCard_Closeup1_DanielleLounds

Behind the main image is a gift card envelope that I tucked the gift card into.  I attached a piece of vellum to the back of the card so that it was easier to pull it out of the envelope.

SC_GiftCardHolderCard_Closeup2_DanielleLounds

Here is a shot of the gift card removed.  You can also see how I stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment on the flap of the envelope.

SC_GiftCardHolderCard_WithoutGC_DanielleLounds

The gift card holder is a design I created in Silhouette Studio and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  Here is a look at the design before being assembled:

GiftCardHolder_DanielleLounds

So what do you think?  Like the look of the shimmery main image?  It is a bit different than my usual style. :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Cupcake Ruby (Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps).
Paper: Real Red (SU!), Basic Black (PTI), Choice Snow White (TE), vellum, designer (My Mind’s Eye).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Fired Brick and Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger).
Accessories: Pearl and Burgundy Glimmer Mists (Tattered Angels), Circle and Petite Scalloped Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), rhinestones (Doodlebug), Thickers (American Crafts), Red Divine Twine (Whisker Graphics), Simply Chartreuse stitched ribbon (PTI), heavy duty white thread and sewing machine, foam dimensional tape.

The Forecast Calls for Flurries!

Hello Crafty Friends – popping in with a wintery project featuring the new Snowbuddies stamp set from There She Goes.  It is appropriate… since there is a winter weather advisory for later tonight.  Snow… wooo… so very excited.  No, not really. ;)

SnowBuddies_SweetSundaySketch_DanielleLounds

For the layout I used the latest Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #172.  It was perfect to use with one of the small snowman from Snowbuddies.

SSSC172

After coloring and cutting out the snowman I added Glossy Accents to the buttons and Crystal Stickles to the hat.  The sentiment is from the Snowy Days stamp set.

TSG: Snowbuddies and Snowman Sentiments

Hello Crafty Friends -

First, I want to wish all my US friends a very Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you have a wonderful holiday. :)

Next, I am back with more TSG goodness!  Today we have two great stamp sets that celebrate winter.  I do love snowmen but I’m very thankful that I had a snow-free drive yesterday.

snowbuddiesbloghopicon

Snowbuddies, the new set from Melyssa, has SO many possible ways to be used; we can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are about it! With a whopping 57 stamps, you can build your own snowman, use one provided, or a little of both. It’s the easiest way to build a snowman, and you don’t even have to get cold to do it. ;)

Melyssa

Snow buddies is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 57 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

What’s a snowman, without a SUPER cute and TOTALLY clever sentiment to go with it…well, we don’t want to know! The Snowman Sentiments set has 9 fabulous sentiments to coordinate with your Snowbuddies set, or any holiday set you want!

Snowman Sentiments is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 9 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

SnowGoodTags_4Pack_DanielleLounds

For my project today I made a set of tags featuring a couple of the smaller already built snowmen and a sentiment from the Snowman Sentiments set.  The tags are very bright and cheery so the little snowmen will have to put some hand-chillers in their pockets…. if snowmen have pockets. :D

SnowGoodTags_Closeup1_DanielleLounds

I may be little… but I’m *packed* with fun.  Snicker.

SnowGoodTags_Closeup2_DanielleLounds

I added an easy ribbon treatment behind the main image.  I created a loop from the v-striped turquoise grosgrain and layered that over a small strip of striped twill ribbon.

Gingerbread Men… Four of Them

Hello Crafty Friends!

I have a FUN project to share today.  I had so much fun making a batch of gingerbread man tags!  Usually around the holidays I’m completely focused on Christmas trees and snowmen when making cards and tags but this year the scrumptious gingerbread man has had all of my attention.  So much so, that I had to design a cut file for the Silhouette just so I could make a batch of them. :)  And here they are…

GingerbreadManTag_4Pack_DanielleLounds

They have been eating a lot of frosting so I gave them big bottoms. Heh heh.  To decorate the tags I used the Anna Wight cling set North Pole Post from Whipper Snapper Designs and a couple of circles cut from cardstock using Petite Scalloped Circle and Circle Nestabilities dies.

GingerbreadManTag_SingleAndBack_DanielleLounds

The eyes are Goosebumps embellishments from Queen & Co. and I added dabs of frosting to his hands and feet using White Opal Liquid Pearls from Ranger.

GingerbreadManTag_Closeup_DanielleLounds

This is how I set up the output when cutting the gingerbread man in Silhouette Studio.  Then when cutting I just covered the left side of the mat with a 6” wide strip of Creamy Carmel cardstock and the right side with a 6” wide strip of Naturals Ivory cardstock.  Easy peasy.

I’ve been debating whether or not to share my cut file… but to be honest I don’t know if anyone would even use it.  Crickets, you know. ;)  If you are interested send me an e-mail.

Later gators – I’m off to see a movie.  No, not that one.  I’m all about James Bond this weekend. ;)

Stamps: North Pole Post (Whipper Snapper Designs)
Paper: Creamy Caramel, Naturals Ivory (SU!), burgundy (PTI), designer (Carte Bella).

Accessories: Goosebumps (Queen & Co.), Natural jute (May Arts), eyelet, Glossy Accents and White Opal Liquid Pearls (Ranger), Petite Scalloped Circles and Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders), foam dimensional tape (TE), crystal fine glitter (Martha Stewart), rhinestones (SU!).

There She Goes Again: Just for You and Penguin Pals

Hello Crafty Friends -

Every month the There She Goes takes a bit of time to feature some older stamp sets in hopes of bringing you fresh inspiration and on Friday the Trendsetters put ink to stamp to create some fabulous new samples! This week we featured these fabulous sets perfect for the upcoming season:

For my project, I used both Just For You and Penguin Pals to make a set of gift tags. You know how much I LOVE making tags. ;)

TSGA_HappyHolidaysBirdTags_4Pack_DanielleLounds

The little bird in the hat is from Penguin Pals and the rest of the images are from Just For You.  There are many layers to these label images as I wanted to do some paper piecing.  The layers are the following: light blue base, then white frame, then the blue background cut from designer paper, then the white circle (popped up with dimensionals) and finally the light blue banner.  On top of all that I added the bird using dimensionals.  And then of course there is the ribbon and white oval tag base.  My scissors are now on vacation after that work out. ;)

TSGA_HappyHolidaysBirdTags_Single_DanielleLounds

I embellished the bird with a bit of Glossy Accents and Crystal fine glitter.  I added silver pearls below the banner and then on the tag base I added dots of light blue Liquid Pearls.

TSGA_HappyHolidaysBirdTags_Closeup_DanielleLounds

Here you can get an idea of all the layers.  I can’t wait to tie these onto some Christmas gifts!

Frosty Fun

Hello -

I spent a little time this last weekend crafting and managed to whip up this card using Claire Keay – Frosty Fun from MFT:

FrostyFun_Peekaboo_DanielleLounds

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black on Choice Snow White cardstock and colored with Copic markers before cutting out.  I added a touch of Glossy Accents to the blades of her skates and some dots of Diamond Stickles to her hat.

Enabling - Frosty Fun and many other fabulous images are currently on clearance at MFT Stamps. ;)

FrostyFun_Peekaboo_Closeup_DanielleLounds

I used the Peek-a-Boo Squared Die-namics to cut out a background layer from Kraft cardstock.  I then used some Distress Stains to add color and once dried I stitched the edges using my sewing machine.

SCRS Preview: Poinsettia Charlotte

Hello everyone!

Today is the first day of previews for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps and we are excited about the new stamps this month! First up is the new Poinsettia Charlotte stamp (she will be available for purchase on Saturday).

PoinsettaCharlotte_Rustic_DanielleLounds

I wanted to create a more rustic look for this card so I pulled out some designer paper from Simple Stories.  It made for a quick card since the paper was already printed with a snow flake, stitching and what looks like strips of paper.

PoinsettaCharlotte_Rustic_Closeup1_DanielleLounds

Some brads, red jute and crocheted trim were the perfect accents.  I cut my sentiment a bit too short so after using a Bracket Tab die on it I ended up needing to round the corners.  Once I finished that I sponged the white cardstock with Antique Linen Distress Ink so it would match the designer papers a bit better.
