Hi all – Thought I would switch things up and make another altered gift tag using a bit of Distress Paints and the Watermelon Rin stamp set.
This week we have a delightful inspiration challenge from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. I loved the colors in the picture and used them to create a yummy pink lemonade tag.
To start, I took a manila tag, white gesso, Distress Paints and ink spray to create a colorful tag.
- Paint manila tag with white gesso and let dry.
- Take four different Distress Paints and apply paint directly to the tag. I used Antique Linen, Mustard Seed, Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry colors.
- Spritz tag with water using a Mini Mister. While wet place a second tag over the first and smoosh together. Pull tags apart and spritz with more water and then let dry. I used a heat tool to speed up the process. Set aside second tag for a future project.
- Spray tag with White Linen Dylusions Ink Spray. Let set for a minute before blotting excess ink using a paper tool. Let dry and then decorate the tag.
Next, I spelled out “Hello” using Poster Graphic dies (TE) and adhered to the tag using foam dimensional tape. Then each of the letters was embellished with Golden Cadillac glitter (PK Glitz) and a coating of Glossy Accents (Ranger). The glitter coverage isn’t even – it is thicker in some spots than others. ;)
I stamped Watermelon Rin on Choice Snow White cardstock (TE) and colored with Copic markers and Copic Spica Pens. I then cut out the image and adhered to the tag using foam dimensional tape.
I topped the tag with ivory grosgrain ribbon and fuchsia crinkle ribbon from May Arts. I also added a few glittery rhinestones (Kaiser Craft).
