4 You Gift Tag

Hello. I love making tags and I enjoy trying new techniques.  So when I want to try something new I usually pair the two likes and make an experimental tag. :)

Today is no different – I picked up a package of the Melange Tissue Wrap and I’ve been collecting the new Distress Paints and guess what?  They go together like peanut butter and jelly! lol.

As I made the tag I took a few pictures so you could see the process.

First up, I cut a piece of the tissue wrap and crumpled it a bit. Easy… so far. ;)

Next, I adhered the tissue wrap to the tag using a multi medium and once dry I cut off the excess tissue.  I sped up the process using a heat tool.  I also picked out a few colors of paint.

Time to get messy (just a bit).  I misted the tag with water and then applied the paint directly to the tag.  These were new bottles so I activated the bottles on the craft mat first… that is why there are dabs of paint to the side.

The paint was stronger than I liked so I misted the tag with more water and then smashed a second tag over the first to take away some of the color.  Let the tags dry… use a heat tool if you are impatient (that is so me!).  Ponder what you will do with the second tag… and then set aside for a future project… maybe.

Make things a bit grungy by sponging the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  I used more of the ink on the layers of embellishment.

Finish embellishing the tag.  I used a couple of Lawn Fawn stamp sets for the banner and tiny little flower.  I doodled the "4 YOU” on the banner using a black pen.
