Hello all – I’m back and today it is a card for this month’s Inspiration Emporium challenge: Falling for Faux. A faux technique that I’ve always like is faux linen and there is a great tutorial on SplitCoastStampers for it. You can check it out HERE.
I created my faux linen background using the following steps:
- 1. Stamp alphabet background from CMS057 School Desk in French Ultramarine multiple times on glossy cardstock.
- 2. Scratch up the background using sandpaper and the sandpaper grip.
- 3. Sponge Gathered Twigs Distress Ink onto the background, making sure to really work it into the scratches.
- 4. More sanding to finish.
I used a couple of Lawn Fawn stamps for the butterfly and the sentiment. When stamping on white cardstock that I will color with Copics I use Memento Tuxedo Black ink, however for non-coloring stamping I use the Jet Black Archival Ink. The Jet Black ink seems to stamp darker with better coverage which I like.
I used a few Label Letters to add to the sentiment and embellished the butterfly with Rusty Hinge Distress Glitter. The designer papers are from Graphic 45 – love these colors, reminds of me a cozy quilt.
For a final bit of embellishment I adhered some vanilla sequins here and there, added a mini clip and a small piece of crocheted trim.
