Hello hello! I’m continuing with the Christmas projects, but this time instead of a card I made a fun tag featuring a sweet image from The Greeting Farm: Xmas Sweeties. She’s not in stock in the store at the moment but you can find many other fun TGF images HERE.
I mentioned on my last post that I picked up a new Gelli Plate and made a few trial prints. For my tag I used the print that featured a Xmas color scheme. Here is a picture of the three prints… the one on the bottom is really really ugly… so you won’t be seeing that one on any projects. ;)
To create the print I added four layers of acrylic paint using the Gelli Plate:
- A layer of a pinkish red.
- Stamped some dots in a darker red using an image from the CMS125 Mixed Media stamp set.
- Used the Tim Holtz Cargo stencil and green paint. Make sure to flip the stencil over so that the letters are not backwards when you transfer the paint to the print.
- I dabbed a bit of white paint here and there on the Gelli Plate and then used a brayer to spread the paint around a bit.
Now back to the tag – here is a close up of the Xmas Sweetie image. She was colored with Copic markers and then the trim on her outfit was coated with Glossy Accents and Rock Candy Distress Glitter.
Here and there on the tag I added some rub-ons from the Remnant Rubs – Christmastime. I also added a couple of white paper flowers, some jute (May Arts), a tag stamped with “ho ho ho”, and a short length of Film Strip Ribbon. For a final touch, I sponged the edges of the tag with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink so that it would match the rest of the tag a bit better.
So what do you think? Would you be interested in seeing more projects that I make with Gelli prints?
