Celebrate Turtle Tags!

Ready for some turtle-ly cool tags on a half shell? I thought so!  I made a set of tags for Inky Antics using the Birthday Turtle clear stamp set.  The images in this set are not only cute but versatile.  You can use them on their own or pair them with the turtle to make cute scenes.

For my tags I used a couple of the small images and the turtle… the turtle was too cute to resist so I had to use him.  Had to!

InkyAntics_BirthdayTurtle_TagSet_DanielleLounds

I whiled a way a bit of time coloring these images and then adding texture to the turtle’s shell using Glossy Accents and Rock Candy Distress Glitter.  Glittery shell = party dress!

InkyAntics_BirthdayTurtle_Tag2Closeup_DanielleLounds

I added some extra dimension to the images by stamping the hat and cake a second time and adhering over the main images with foam tape.

Make it amazing

I had an interesting day yesterday.  There was the epic failure of trying to install a new pet door. The happy moment when I switched out the grungy old floor mats in my Jeep for brand new ones that fit perfectly. The realization that the downspout popped off the gutters when I saw the big puddle of water in the garage.  The final moment of the day came when I made this card and it turned out even better than I hoped.  Best moment of the day! ;)

MakeItAmazingWithCrochetedHeart_DanielleLounds

I only had one goal for this card; it must incorporate a crocheted heart.  That is it.  I picked the papers, stamps and inks to coordinate with the heart and to fit the general idea of a layout that I had.

MakeItAmazingWithCrochetedHeart_Closeup_DanielleLounds

And this card is all about texture.  Roughed up edges, punched borders, pearls and twine were all added with this thought in mind.  The floral images, frame and sentiment are from the Make It Amazing stamp set by Taylored Expressions.

MakeItAmazingWithCrochetedHeart_SideShot_DanielleLounds

Any questions on the card just let me know!  I’ll have to write up some details on creating the crocheted hearts soon.

P.S.  I will get the new pet door installed… I just need to purchase a couple of additional items first.  Oh, and the downspout is back where it belongs.  And what the heck happened to my huge roll of duct tape???  Is it in my Jeep?  Because it definitely wasn’t where it was supposed to be. Hmm… I’m going to blame the cats.

How sweet you are…

Hello – I have another Inky Antics card to share with you.  I’ve been having a blast using their fun images including this cute puppy from the Valentine Critters #2 clear set.

InkyAntics_ValentinesCritters2_DanielleLounds

Such a happy puppy!  Couple quick notes: I stamped the chocolate box multiple times so I could create a popped up dimensional effect.  For a bit of added pizzazz I coated portions of the ribbon with Stickles.

As always, you can pop over to the Inky Antics blog for some additional details and the card and to read Jackie’s entertaining write-ups. Oh… and there will be more fun on Tuesday – it won’t be a card but my second favorite type of paper crafty project to make.:D

Okay… so I just had to break out the pink again! :)  As far as dimension and layering I think this is as clean and simple as I get!  I did pop up some of the hearts that make up the foliage of the tree with dimensionals.  And for extra sparkle I coated the lighter pink hearts with Illuminate Smooch.

I’ve made quite a few pink projects this last couple of weeks so I decided to switch things up and make an aqua Valentine card. :D  I paired the aqua paper with kraft and embellished the card with a bunch of matching buttons.

After coloring the image with Copic markers I highlighted it here and there with a clear Spica Glitter pen and then added Glossy Accents and glitter to his wings and arrow.  Just had to!

TSG Blog Hop: Get in Gear

Hello!  Welcome to the second day of sneak peeks for There She Goes!  We have a couple of great mini sets to share with you today.

Get In Gear Blog Hop Challenge

Steampunk is one of our FAVORITE styles here at There She Goes, so when we saw the new Get In Gear set from Torico, we all squealed with delight. She is so sassy, funky, and FABULOUS. Also, the gears included in this set could TOTALLY be used for a CAS boys card, or building a background. SO versatile!

Print

Get in Gear is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $9.00

GetInGearSample_DanielleLounds

I love these girly images by Torico – they are a delight to color.  I went with an orange and black color theme (based on papers I wanted to use).  I colored the image and then cut out.  I also colored and cut out one of the matching gear images.

GetInGearSample_Closeup_DanielleLounds

Layout is simpler and I’m really liking the ribbon tucked behind the main panel so that it shows behind the scallops.  Might have to try this look again… but with pleating the ribbon. :)

We also have a second stamp set to share with you today!  I don’t have a sample for this one… yet!

Whether you are sending your son, daughter, or loved one off, Torico’s new Boot Camp stamp set is perfect for you! With the cutest boot image EVER, and several catchy phrases you are sure to find exactly what you need for this very occasion.

TSG Blog Hop: The Doxie with Moxie

Hello – It is that time of the month: sneak peeks for the January release for There She Goes! So welcome to day one of the blog hop!

The Doxie With Moxie Blog Hop Challenge

It’s no secret, we are DEFINITELY in love with everything Torico does here at There She Goes, and we know you are, too. This month she has honored us by creating a set that we have been begging for…meet The Doxie with Moxie! SUPER cute dachshunds, along with several sentiments, outfits, and even a city scene for our more “elegant” pups, this set is just TOO much fun.

Print

The Doxie with Moxie is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 32 stamps and will sell for $18.00.

When brainstorming The Doxie with Moxie set, there was a lot of chatter about sentiments…and some of them took a turn for the funny, but…risqué, lol! We couldn’t live without them, so we decided to create the Size Matters set. It’s not for everyone, but it’s definitely funny!!

Size Matters is a 3x4 set that includes 7 stamps for $9.00.

MoxieDoxie_DanielleLounds

For my card I used one of the cute doxies and one of the very funny sentiments from Size Matters. Lots of giggles to be had with these sets!  I kept the layout simple and quick with the dog as the main focal point.

Are we almost there?

Hello Crafty Friends -

I have another Inky Antics project to share with all of you.  This time I made a travel notebook featuring the 10969MC Travel Time Clear Set.  As soon as I saw this set I knew I had to create an altered notebook.

InkyAntics_TravelTime_Notebook_DanielleLounds

When I take long trips I like to write down a few notes every evening (or late at night) about the days activities and if there are any little odds and ends like ticket stubs it is nice to have a pocket to hold those. With those criteria in mind I created a book using index cards as the pages and made a couple of pocket pages.

The covers were made from 5x7 double thick backer board and I used 4x6 index cards.

InkyAntics_TravelTime_Notebook_Cover_Closeup_DanielleLounds

Here is a side shot so you can see the index cards and pockets.  I like the differing sizes… gives the book a bit of texture.

There She Goes Again: Love Birds

Hey Crafty Friends -

It is that wonderful time of the month when the There She Goes Trendsetter’s make new projects featuring previously released stamp sets. This month we are all about the love:

For my project today I decided to make some little treat boxes and decorate them with the Love Birds stamp set and some hand crocheted hearts… love!

LoveBirds_TreatBagsWithFlap_DanielleLounds

First off I designed a treat box and then cut it out using the Silhouette.  And guess what? Because I appreciate all of you I’ve added a page with links to download the cut files I design.  Just click on the tab at the top of my blog that says “Cut Files.”  I’ll be uploading a file for this box in the near future but I need to clean up a few details first. :)

LoveBirds_TreatBagsWithFlap_BackSideDanielleLounds

The closures were made by setting a jumbo eyelet in the back of the box and using a couple of buttons to create a catch on the flap.  I then threaded another button onto some purple burlap cording and tied a knot – creating a loop about an 1” to 1.5” long.  I fed the loop through the eyelet (the knot and button are on the inside of the box); the button keeps the knotted end of the burlap cording from pulling through the eyelet.  The loop is then wrapped around the button catch to keep the box closed.  For one of the boxes I sewed the button catch in place.  For the other (and I think this works better) I glued a small button to the back of a bigger button and then glued it to the flap.

LoveBirds_TreatBagsWithFlap_Closeup_DanielleLounds

See all the pretty details?  Do you like those crocheted hearts?  I have more plans for these and I will be back with another post soon with the details on making them. :D

Make sure to pop over to the TSG blog for more fabulous samples from the team.

Bowl full of get well wishes…

Hi all -

I’m popping in to share a set of cards that I made for Inky Antics using a brand spankin’ new stamp set that will be available soon (if not already): Soup Time.

You can find more details on the stamp set and the set of cards over at the Inky Antics blog.

InkyAntics_SoupTime_CardSet_DanielleLounds

I couldn’t decide on one color theme for this quicker card so I made three.  The finished card size is 3.5” wide by 5.5” tall.  When I make a 5x5 card I am left with this extra piece of cardstock and it makes for an interesting sized card. :)

Later gators – I’ll be back later this week with a project featuring fuzzy yarn hearts. :D

Sparkle Creations Release Day: Sushi Rin

Hello!

It is release day for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. But before you head over to the shop we have another stamp set to share with you. Today we are sharing samples using the awesome Sushi Rin stamp set!

SushiRin_ReleasePreview_DanielleLounds

For my card I paired Rin with some designer paper from the Celebrate collection by Authentique.  I’ve had this pad for a while and this was my first time using any of it.  But I love it with this image so better late than never, right?

This set comes with several great sentiments.  I especially like the “roll with it” one – perfect for those encouraging cards that you need on occasion.

Kept the layout simple and focused all of my attention on coloring… I did have to Google “sushi platter images” so I would have a better idea of how to color the plate of goodies.  I’m not a big fan of sea food/fish… especially not the raw variety. ;)

Be sure to visit all of the SCRS designers for more peeks of Sushi Rin. Sparkle will be giving away a Sushi Rin to one lucky person! SCRS Preview: Chocolate Box Ruby

Hello Crafty Friends!

Are you ready to see some new stamps?!  I thought so!  Today, I am sharing a sneak peek of a new stamp from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps called Chocolate Box Ruby.  She is delightful and perfect for all of those Valentine cards you need to make.

ChocolateBoxRuby_ReleaseSample_DanielleLounds

For my sample I went all out with the pink.  A little pink here and a whole lot of pink there!  I stamped Chocolate Box Ruby in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  The designer paper is from new Lovely collection by Authentique.  I made an accent flower using a couple of MFT dies and a glazed brad; once assembled the petals were tipped with Glossy Accents and Rock Candy Distress glitter.

ChocolateBoxRuby_ReleaseSample_Sideview_DanielleLounds

The layout of the card was inspired by the latest Sweet Sunday Sketch which you can see HERE.  I wanted to feature the matching sentiments for this stamp so I also decorated and stamped the inside of the card: “My sweet love… you had me at CHOCOLATE”.

ChocolateBoxRuby_ReleaseSample_Inside_DanielleLounds

And here is a final close-up of the image.  She was a delight to color. :)

SCRS95: Get Better Soon

Hello -

The design team for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps took a bit of a break over the holidays.  But we are back now and we have some fun challenges for you… and later this week we have a couple of new stamp sets to share. Fun times! :)

SCRSAnythingGoes_NurseLucy_DanielleLounds

This week’s challenge is “anything goes.”  Easy peasy, right?

scrsc95

For all of the details on the challenge head over to the Sparkle Creations Blog. You can find Sparkle Creations stamps online at the store HERE.

SCRSAnythingGoes_NurseLucy_ImageCloseup_DanielleLounds

It is that time of the year; everyone seems to be down and out with some kind of cold or flu so I decided that a get well card would come in handy.  Or a few dozen… Nurse Lucy is such a serene and comforting image so I knew she would be perfect!

The layout is a Retro Sketch from a couple of weeks ago.  You can see the post HERE.  I did flip the layout and added a few rhinestones and twine.

TSG189: The City is Different…

Hello!

I’m back with a card for this week’s TSG Challenge! I have a few TSG stamp sets in my collection that have never seen ink so I thought it was the perfect time to ink one of them: On the Move.  I love the sentiments that are included in this set. Fun fun fun!

OnTheMove_YellowBlueBlackChallenge_DanielleLounds

The challenge?  It is all about color, in particular, to use the color scheme of yellow, black and blue.  I think I managed that with my card.  Although I did add a little bit of ivory and brown neutrals to bring it all together.

TSG189

Make sure to head over to the TSG Blog for all of the details on the challenge and how you can win a prize.

OnTheMove_YellowBlueBlackChallenge_Closeup_DanielleLounds

And despite appearances, this card took me a while to make.  I kept fussing with the layout.  You would not believe how many different places I tried to incorporate the blue designer paper. In the end the ribbon and arrow won ownership of the main panel and I just stuck the designer paper along the bottom. Hopefully the elements of my next card will play nice instead of having an all out battle. ;)
