TSG Blog Hop: Giddy Up

Hello Crafty Friends! I hope you enjoyed all of the *beary* great samples from yesterday. ;) Today the There She Goes Trendsetters are back to share sneak peeks of another fun stamp set that will make you giddy.

Giddy Up Blog Hop Challenge

Cowboys and western themes are all the rage right now, and we wanted IN on this super popular trend….and boy did Torico deliver! Our new Giddy Up set is so fun, you’ll be roped in!

Print

Giddy Up is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 26 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

For my card, I colored and then cutout the cowgirl. I coordinated the colors of her outfit with the designer paper and then a few of those colors were covered up by the die-cut circle. I didn’t plan that well. ;)

GiddyUp_CowgirlCloseup_DanielleLounds

For a background I cut 3/4” by 3 7/8” strips of designer paper and adhered them to a 4 1/4” x 4” panel cut from dark brown cardstock.  I did overlap the edges of the strips just a bit so that all six of them would fit.  Once tacked in place I stitched the edges using my sewing machine.  I didn’t want to detract from the main image and the stitched panel so I just used a a bit of jute, twill ribbon and a brown button form embellishment.

I went for rustic sweet with my card. There are some great sentiments that come with this set… however I changed things up and went without one.  Just so I could have a card for any occasion.  That is what I l-u-v about the bears in this set. :)

SCRSC98: Howdy

Hello - It is time for another Sparkle Creations challenge and this week it is a color challenge to use: pink, dark pink, yellow and brown. Nice! I get to use pink again. ;)

Here is the challenge:

I was in the mood to add texture, lots and lots of it!  Main image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers.  I used an edge distressing tool to rough up some of cardstock here and there.  I cut a piece of burlap and used it as a background layer.  For a bit more texture I used fabric covered alpha, jute and a few rhinestones.  Do you like? ;)

Be sure to head over to the SCRS Blog for more samples from the talented design team. Or head directly to their blogs from here:

There She Goes Again: Bloom

Hey Crafty Friends -

It is that wonderful time of the month when the There She Goes Trendsetter’s make new projects featuring previously released stamp sets. This month we are all about flowers and are featuring these sets:

For my project today I decided to make a clean and simple card featuring the Bloom stamp set.

BloomYellowCAS_DanielleLounds

I spent most of my time coloring the main image.  I went with sunny shades of yellow and nice bright greens.  Easy peasy – rest should be self-explanatory. ;)

Thankful for your friendship

Hello Crafty Friends -

I’ve been in the mood to try my hand at making CAS (clean-and-simple) cards and I’ve actually completed a couple that I will be sharing this week.  These were not easy for me and they took as much time to complete as the cards I normally make. But I love how they turned out, especially this first one:

ForeverPurpleCAS_DanielleLounds

This week’s challenge at There She Goes Clear Stamps is to use flowers, whether they be paper or stamps!  You can find all of the details on challenge TSG194 HEREFor my card I used the delightful mini stamp set Forever.

ForeverPurpleCAS_Closeup_DanielleLounds

I couldn’t go completely simple right off the bat… so I stamped the flowers a second time, colored them and then cut them out and popped them up on the main image with dimensionals. ;)

ForeverPurpleCAS_SideView_DanielleLounds

That is is for me tonight.  Check back later this week for another TSG card that features flowers and is CAS (well, as CAS as I get!).

Sewn with love…

Hello! Hope you have been enjoying the weekend. Saturday was a bit hectic for me but I spent today at home, where it is warm, and got caught up on some chores around the house.  Oh, but I did find a bit of time to make a pink and gray card featuring the Cute as a Button stamp set from There She Goes.

FriendshipIsSewn_DanielleLounds

I didn't use any ribbon on this card. Why not? Because I thought it was time to give a little lovin’ to the washi tape I’ve been accumulating. :)

FriendshipIsSewn_Closeup_DanielleLounds

Later gators!  Hope you have an enjoyable week. Mine will end with a three day weekend.  Oh yeah, I’ll be a happy stamper. :)

Love you a bunch!

Hey Crafty Friends – I have another valentine card to share with all of you. Only one  more week of lovey-doveyness and I will have to move onto a different theme for my projects. ;)  This card features Delivery Benton from Inky Antics.

InkyAntics_DeliveryBenton_DanielleLounds

Here is a close up of the main image.  A little Glossy Accent here and there and a touch of glitter from a Copic Spica pen.

InkyAntics_DeliveryBenton_ImageCloseup_DanielleLounds

Here is a basic outline of how I made the card:

  1. Stamp Benton on Choice Snow White cardstock, color with Copic markers and Spica pens and then cut out.
  2. Cut designer paper to size, die cut to scallop borders and a chat bubble.
  3. Adhere scallop trim to smaller piece of designer paper and then layer that on the larger piece of designer paper and black cardstock. Round bottom corners of designer paper and black cardstock first.
  4. Staple pink polka dot ribbon in place and then wrap the black polka dot organdy ribbon around the panel and tie into a bow.
  5. Attach panel to card base using foam dimensional tape.
  6. Stamp sentiment on chat bubble die cut, and then adhere in place with dimensional tape.
  7. Attach Benton to card using more foam dimensional tape.
  8. Add dots of Glossy Accents to the itty bitty round flowers.
  9. Embellish scallops with clear rhinestones.

InkyAntics_DeliveryBenton_EmbellieCloseup_DanielleLounds

And a side shot so you can see all the elements that I popped up using foam dimensional tape.

That is it for me tonight!  Chat with you all later!

SCRSC97: You’re my cup of TEA

Hello - It is time for another Sparkle Creations challenge and this week it is a sketch.  I put away my pink markers and pulled out some orange ones to create this card:

Three Little Elephants

I made this quick card last week and then I forgot to post it.  Oops!  The little paper pieced elephants and imagine sentiment are from Polka Dot Pals by There She Goes.

ImagineBabyCard_DanielleLounds

I stamped each elephant three times; base layer from white card stock (for sturdiness), next layer is the elephant body and the third layer is for the ears.  I curled the top ear a bit so it would stick out.

ImagineBabyCard_Closeup_DanielleLounds

Kept the layout simple so the elephants would pop! :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Polka Dot Pals (TSG)
Paper: Naturals Ivory and Red (SU!), designer (Carte Bella)
Ink: Brilliance Black.
Accessories: Distressing tool, sewing machine, heavy duty white thread, jute and green grosgrain (May Arts), foam dimensionals, button.
