Happy Easter!

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to *hop* in and wish a Happy Easter to everyone. If you don’t celebrate then I wish you a great Sunday (hopefully, nice and relaxing)! :)

I don’t have an Easter card to share but I do have one featuring an extra cute bunny from the Taylored Expressions’ Easter Doodles stamp set.

ALittleBehindBunny_DanielleLounds

Since I still had my Distress Markers out from yesterday’s card I decided to use them to color the bunny and a frame from the stamp set. It is nice to change things up once in a while.

ALittleBehindBunny_Closeup_DanielleLounds

There is quite a bit of dimension to the main image, hopefully you can see it in this side view of the card.

A Magic Dragon

Hey Crafty Friends –

I picked up a couple of Lawn Fawn stamp sets while shopping at Inspiration Emporium the other day. I’ve been eyeing the images from this company for a while so I decided it was time to order them.

For my card today I was in a whimsical mood so I inked up Critters Ever After. I also used Chevron Backdrops to create a colorful background.

MakeAWishDragon_DanielleLounds

You want to know how I created the background?  Well, I guess I can share that information. ;)

First I inked up one of the chevron stamps with VersaMark ink and stamped on watercolor paper (I just buy a pad of this paper from the local art supply store).  I then heat embossed with Black embossing powder.  I wanted a few more chevrons so I repeated the process a second time.

Next, I pulled out my set of Distress Markers (why don’t I use these more often?) and colored the image a bit.  I did not completely fill in between the lines and I used the following Distress Markers to color the background: Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick, Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans, Broken China Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive.

Here’s a pic:

ZigZagBackground_Step1_DanielleLounds

Finally, I pulled out a waterbrush and used it to spread the colors around a bit.  You can also use a regular paint brush and a bit of water.  The embossing helps keep the water between the lines and from muddying the colors.  Here is a pic of the completed background paper.  Purrr-ty!

ZigZagBackground_Step2_DanielleLounds

Here is a close-up of the watercolored background after I finished the card. I added some black twill ribbon, a pink button, Ice Blue Rhinestones, and some Honeydew baker’s twine.  Oh, and stitching with my sewing machine. The designer paper is Sweet Day by Echo Park (one of my favorites!).

MakeAWishDragon_Closeup2_DanielleLounds

I colored the dragon with Copic markers and then cut out.  I added Glossy Accents here and there and also added Clear Rock Candy Distress glitter to his spine.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you enjoyed the card.

TSG Blog Hope: Phyllis

Hey Crafty Friends – I’m back today with another sneak peek for There She Goes and we are introducing another fabulous artist.

Our second new artist, Wendy Leach, brings out the uber cute with sock goblin drawings. They are so much fun and this month’s set, Phyllis, is the perfect introduction to these darling images!

Phyllis Blog Hop Challenge

Phyllis is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 3 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

PhyllisSneakPeek_DanielleLounds

Instead of making a card I made a tag.  Surprise.  Well, not really. ;)  This is a big tag as it measures about 5.5” tall and 3” wide. I could have turned this into a tall skinny card but I was in the mood for jumbo eyelets. LOL.

Phyllis was colored with Copic markers and then cut out. I added Glossy Accents to her polka dots.

PhyllisSneakPeek_ImageCloseup_DanielleLounds

For embellishment I added a shabbified (is that a word?) bow and some dots of Liquid Pearls and black pearls.  I was all about the dots on this card… just had to match Phyllis!

TSG Blog Hop: Nutmeg and Penelope

Hello!  Are you ready for more sneak peeks?  I thought so!

This month we are introducing a BRAND new artist to There She Goes, Megan Suarez! She has started us out with three FABULOUS stamp sets, which we think you are going to love. Her style is a touch on the side of gothic, but so much fun. We are starting out with three new sets from her and we can’t wait to see what’s next with this AMAZING designer!

Lucky Duck Blog Hop Challenge

First up we have the gothic Nutmeg! Nutmeg is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 5 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

NutmegSneakPeek_Pink_DanielleLounds

Nutmeg is all about big hair and skulls so I had to give her a wild pink dye job! I love all of the little details on this image: heart tattoo on her face, little bows here and their, the striped leggings and the fun skull on her dress!  Of course I had to add Glossy Accents to the skull after coloring and a little black rhinestone to the center of her hair bow.

NutmegSneakPeek_Pink_Closeup1_DanielleLounds

After assembling the card it was missing something… so I added a couple of buttons that were threaded on black jute. I’ve been liking ‘little’ embellishments lately.  Just a bit of ribbon here or three.  Maybe a few black scallops. And of course my faves: Glossy Accents and little rhinestones.

NutmegSneakPeek_Pink_Closeup2_DanielleLounds

Nutmeg isn’t the only stamp we are peeking today… we also have Penelope & Birdcage and Journal Lines.

Penelope & Birdcage Blog Hop Challenge

Penelope & Birdcage is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 4 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

Journal lines is a 3x4 set that includes 1 stamp, and will sell for $9.00.

I don’t have a sample made with either of these sets but I am sure I will have one in the near future. :)

Would you like to win all three new stamp sets from Megan Suarez(Penelope&Birdcage/Nutmeg/Journal Lines)? TSG Blog Hop: Lucky Duck

Hello Crafty Friends – I had an interesting start to my day yesterday (furnace went on vacation) and I’m hoping my luck is much better today. And speaking of luck I have a fun sneak peek of a new Lucky Duck stamp set that There She Goes will be releasing on Saturday. :)

Lucky Duck Blog Hop Challenge

If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck…well, it’s probably a Lucky Duck! Ok, that was corny, but this SUPER cute set by Torico will make you squee with delight…could it get any cuter? Lots of ducks, and stamps to build the perfect scene, it’s so versatile.

Print

Lucky Duck is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 24 stamps and will sell for $18.00.

While brainstorming the sentiments for Lucky Duck, as always, we took a turn for the dark side…..what else can I say besides this set is ducking awesome.

Hooked on Quack is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

YouQuackMeUpDuckie_DanielleLounds

For my card I used one of the cute little ducks (this one looks so sweet and prim) and a couple little cloud images to create a little scene on designer paper. I didn’t want to overpower the little duck so I stuck with softer tones for the paper and embellishments.

YouQuackMeUpDuckie_Closeup_DanielleLounds

I couldn’t resist adding glitter to the clouds and coating the duck’s beak and feet with Glossy Accents. A matching sentiment was stamped on a frame cut from Kraft cardstock.

March There She Goes Again

Hey Crafty Friends -

It is that wonderful time of the month when the There She Goes Trendsetter’s make new projects featuring previously released stamp sets. This month we are all about buttercups, dreams and giggles:

  • What’s Up Buttercup?
  • ROFL Taglines
  • Dream a New Dream

For my project today I decided to color some buttercups pink!

PinkButtercups_TSGA_DanielleLounds

The layout is simple and I focused all of my time on the details of the main image.  I stamped the buttercups and then colored with Copic markers, adding a blue shadow around the image.  I then sprayed the panel with Snow Angel Glimmer Mist for an all over sparkle and finished with a bit of Clear Rock Candy Distress glitter on the flower centers.  Next I did some distressing and stitching before adding jute and layering on a piece of cork that had been trimmed with pinking scissors.

Tattered Floral Tags

Hey crafty friends -

It’s been a while since I’ve made a batch of tags so I made some.  This batch features an extra large shabby flower!

TatteredFloralTags_Single_DanielleLounds

Here is a side shot so you can see all of the lovely dimension and the memo pin. Nice!

TatteredFloralTags_Closeup_DanielleLounds

I thought you might like a picture tutorial of how I created the big flowers on the tags.  Here goes:

TatteredFloralsTags_Step1_DanielleLounds

Step 1: Diecut some flowers from black and white designer paper and corrugated cardboard using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  You will need three die cuts for each flower (I’m assembling three flowers in these pictures – the first flower was created in a test run).

TatteredFloralsTags_Step2_DanielleLounds

Step 2: Add some color to the black and white flowers using Distress Stains (Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers) and then let dry or heat with a heat tool.

TatteredFloralsTags_Step3_DanielleLounds

Step 3: Add some shimmer by applying Brushed Pewter Distress Stain to each of the flowers and then letting dry (or if impatient use a heat tool).

TatteredFloralsTags_Step4_DanielleLounds

Step 4: To create extra dimension the top layer will only have five petals so cut out one petal leaving behind a little tab.

TatteredFloralsTags_Step5_DanielleLounds

Step 5: Adhere the first and last petal together using that little tab you left behind in the prior step.

TatteredFloralsTags_Step6_DanielleLounds

Step 6: Paint each flower cut from designer paper with a Gloss medium.  I used some Glossy Perfect Paper Adhesive that I had on hand.  Glue N’ Seal by Inkssentials would also work. Let dry – this might take a while.

TatteredFloralsTags_Step7_DanielleLounds

Step 7: While the other layers are drying, rough up the corrugated flowers a bit using your fingers.  Then add some depth by applying Pumice Stone Distress Ink here and there. Let dry. Patience can be good. ;)

TatteredFloralsTags_Step8_DanielleLounds

Step 8: Punch a hole in the center of each flower.

TatteredFloralsTags_Step9_DanielleLounds

Step 9: Curl the petals of each flower using your fingers. Once assembled you can do more primping. :D

TatteredFloralsTags_Step10_DanielleLounds

Step 10: Glue the layers together, making sure to line up the holes.

TatteredFloralsTags_Step11_DanielleLounds

Step 11: Embellish each flower with some jute tied into a bow and big brad. I used some corduroy ones I’ve had forever. After tying the jute into a bow I inserted the prongs of the brad through the knot and then inserted the brad in the flower before spreading the prongs.

TatteredFloralsTags_Step12_DanielleLounds

Step 12: Add a memo pin (inserted between the first and second layers) and attach a sentiment stamped on cardstock. For my flowers I used a couple of stamps from the Inky Antics – Delivery Benton set. Each sentiment was cut out with an Oval Nestabilities die.

To finish, attach the flowers to the decorated tags and have fun giving them as gifts!

PS. I decorated the tag bases with dots of Platinum Liquid Pearls, Island Lagoon Rhinestones, Tim Holtz Alterations – Bubble embossing folder, Pumice Stone Distress Ink, machine stitching, jumbo eyelets and black baker’s twine.

And here is a final picture of all four tags together. :)

TatteredFloralTags_4Pack_DanielleLounds

Hope you enjoyed the tags! :)

Coupon Alert!  If you are shopping at the Inspiration Emporium you can use coupon code fatcatstamper for 10% off your order. Throughout this post, I’ve linked to some supplies from the store that I used. :)

Pokey-Poke

It is a good thing you make me giggle or I’d have to break out the voodoo doll and pins. At least that is what this card is saying (not me). Besides I don’t own a voodoo doll, although I do own some pins. LOL. ;)

YouMakeMeGiggle_DanielleLounds

I colored Drucilla with Copic markers (while flying on a plane – true story!). Rest of the card was made while my feet were firmly planted on the ground.

YouMakeMeGiggle_Closeup_DanielleLounds

For embellishment I added a pink heart I crocheted, a button and a bit of twine. The sentiment is from an Anna Wight cling set call Sweet Expressions.

Hmmm… that is it for me.  I have some pins to play with. ;)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Hello Crafty Friends -

Just thought I would pop in and wish you all a fun St. Patrick’s Day. I don’t plan on drinking any green beer or eating cabbage and corned beef but I might get a Shamrock Shake… nom, nom, nom!

I don’t have a green card to share today but instead thought I would share a cute Get Well Soon card.  Some of you who overindulge today might appreciate it even more. ;)

NurseKiddo_DanielleLounds

The cute image is Nurse Kiddo from Stampendous.  The sentiment, sentiment tag die and the Quatrefoil Cutting Plate (background) are all from Taylored Expressions. I’ve had that plate for a couple months and it made me sooooo happy to finally use it.  It is gorgeous and I really should have used it the minute I got it.
