Where is the kitchen sink?

Hello -

Hmmm… this is one of those cards that went from simple to busy to extremely fussy. I threw everything but the kitchen sink at it.  Oops; I did have to wet some paper towels to clean the embossing folder so the sink was involved after all. ;)

HiFriend_GreenHairedGirl_DanielleLounds

This card is for another Dare To Get Dirty challenge over at SplitCoastStampers.  So many great challenges and I want to participate in all of them but there is only so much time.  Sigh. And that thing called a j-o-b is interfering.  You can find out about the challenges HERE.

HiFriend_GreenHairedGirl_Closeup1_DanielleLounds

As I implied there is a lot going on with this card, here are the highlights:

Shockingly, I did not use any rhinestones which I’m tempted to add.  Heh heh heh.

What do you think?  Like the green hair and the bright colors?

Have a Purr-fect Day!

Hi all – I made a quick card using the Nine Lives stamp set from Paper Smooches.

PurrfectDay_Lemony_DanielleLounds

I created the background by spraying Naturals White cardstock with Lemon Zest Dylusions Ink Spray. I also stamped a little bone-y fish in light aqua ink. After matting on black I embellished with washi tape, yellow elastic gingham ribbon and a few rhinestones. Sentiment and cat were stamped in black inks (Archival for the sentiment, Memento for the image). The cat was stamped on a separate piece of Choice Snow White cardstock and colored with Copic markers before trimming.

PurrfectDay_Lemony_Closeup_DanielleLounds

This was a quick card but ever so fun to make. Meow! :D

Recipe:
Stamps: Nine Lives (Paper Smooches).
Paper: Naturals White, Tempting Turquoise (SU!), black (MFT), Choice Snow White (TE).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Jet Black Archival (Ranger), Copic Markers.
Accessories: Lemon Zest Dylusions Ink Spray (Ranger), rhinestones (Kaiser), Yellow Gingham ribbon (May Arts), washi tape, Tiny Attacher (Idea-ology), foam dimensional tape.

There for You

Hello – I have a sweet card to share with you this Sunday.  I colored up this little sweetie (OA – Buddies from The Greeting Farm) just because I was in the mood to color.

TGFBuddies_DanielleLounds

It is Dare to Get Dirty time over at SplitCoastStampers and I was inspired by one of the challenges.  Not going to say how, but I was. ;) You can find out about the challenges HERE.

I colored the image with Copic markers and embellished here and there with Glossy Accents.  My bottle is almost empty… sniff sniff.  I need to order more… ASAP.

I tied some green gingham ribbon (Mary Arts) around the top of the card and added a little piece of washi tape (October Afternoon) behind the bow.  I’m all about the black accents on this card.

TGFBuddies_Closeup1_DanielleLounds

And the lower right corner needed a little something to balance out the card so I added a wooded heart button (Prima) and some rhinestones.

Later gators – hope you had a great weekend!

TSG Blog Hop: Mixed Media Fun

Hello and welcome to another (and the final) day of sneak peeks for There She Goes. We have two great sets to debut today!

Handwritten and MM Bacground Builders Blog Hop Challenge

Mixed Media Backgrounds from Tobi Crawford is perfect for all you Mixed Media crafters, but is also fabulous for cards, scrapbook pages, and other projects. Mixed Media Backgrounds is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 10 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

Handwritten is a mixture of fabulous fonts and styles, perfect for adding that personal touch to any card or project. Handwritten is a 4x6 set that includes 16 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

CelebrateYourDay_MixedMedia_DanielleLounds

I’ve been dabbling with some different mediums lately and it was fun to use them on a card (I usually make a tag).  For main focal point on this card I did the following:

  1. Stamped the swoosh image in Distress ink on white cardstock seven times.  I used: Dusty Concorde, Tumbled Glass, Shabby Shutter and Mustard Seed.
  2. The Distress Ink was a bit bright, so I softened the look by painting some white gesso over the stamped cardstock. Let dry.
  3. Next I inked up two of the splat-y circles with Tumbled Glass Distress Paint and stamped. Let dry.
  4. Stamped the “celebrate” and “your day” in Jet Black Archival ink.
  5. Distressed the edges and stitched to a slightly larger piece of white cardstock
  6. Mounted main panel on card base with foam tape and finished with a few light green rhinestones.

All in all, this was actually a very fast card to make.  Hmm.. I’m excited to play with these sets a bit more. :)

TSG Blog Hop: Strut Your Stuff

Hello!  I’m back for another day of sneak peeks for There She Goes. Today I’m sharing another cute addition to the Sock Goblin lineup: Strut Your Stuff!

Strut Your Stuff Blog Hop Challenge

The new set from Megan Suarez is a real sweetie – a little sock goblin and his best friend.

Designs by Wendy Leach

Strut Your Stuff is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 2 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

StrutYourStuff_DanielleLounds

I changed things up a bit and stamped the image in Jet Black Archival ink  on watercolor paper and colored with Inktense pencils (Derwent). It is a bit of a different look but it is fun to do something different. The rest of the card is pretty simple: bit of printed twill ribbon, a short piece of washi tape, a few rhinestones and Indie Chic – Nutmeg designer paper (My Mind’s Eye).

Hello hello!  Did you enjoy the sneak peeks we posted yesterday for There She Goes? I thought they were great and I’m expecting that today’s samples will be just as fabulous.

Amalia Daisy Fairy Blog Hop Challenge

The new Amalia stamp set from Megan Suarez is as sweet as can be. Not only is Amalia a ballerina, but now she is a fairy as well!

Amalia’s Daisy Fairy is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 3 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

AmazingYouSample_DanielleLounds

Eeee… cute, right? I stamped Amalia in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers and embellished with some Glossy Accents and glitter. The matching sentiment was stamped on pink cardstock and cut out using a tab die (MFT).  I added some matching pink buttons and gray baker’s twine (The Twinery) to the lower left corner and silver pearls to the upper left corner.  And because I couldn’t resist I added some stitching.

TSG Blog Hop: School Doodles

Hello – I’m back today with another fun sample. This time I’m sharing a sneak peek of a new stamp set from There She Goes.

School Doodles Blog Hop Challenge

The new School Doodles set from Torico is FULL of super cute and fun images perfect for any parent, teacher, scrapbooker, or card maker. With 49 stamps, the possibilities are endless!

Print

School Doodles is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 49 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

SchoolDoodles_TagSet_DanielleLounds

I made a quick set of A+ Tags.  I’m thinking these would make a fun gift to give to a teacher. :)

I made three boy tags and three girl tags.  They are pretty much the same except the cardstock color, main image and the touch of trim.

SchoolDoodles_BoyTag_DanielleLounds

I kept them simple so that I could make a bunch of them although I did color the images and paper piece the outfits.

Let’s Shell-ebrate

Hello – I have a sweet little birthday card to share today.  This one celebrates a first birthday – and my nephew just turned 1 so you can guess where I’ll be sending this one. ;)

IE_LetsShellebrate_DanielleLounds

The layout is the latest sketch from Retrosketches (#73). You know I love these challenges:

rs72

I used a couple of stamp sets from Paper Smooches; Party Posse for the turtle and sentiment and Tri-balation to create the patterned background. The turtle was colored with Copic markers and embellished with Glossy Accents and Clear Rock Candy Distress glitter.  I die cut a number one from green cardstock using the Digits Dies and used it and some pearls as embellishment on the background.

So… it has been very hot this last couple weeks which has me thinking fondly of snow. And I’m not even a fan of snow, but I’m less of a fan of heat and humidity. Since it is unlikely to snow anytime soon I decided to pull out the Rin with Snowman set for my blog hop sample. Between her and the Aspen Frost designer paper (Basic Grey) I’m feeling a touch chilled.  Not really, but I’ll pretend. ;)

Rin was colored with Copic markers and I added Diamond Stickles to the snowflakes.  The sentiment is from the Anna Wight – Winter Schminter set (Whipper Snapper Designs). For embellishment I added a bit of washi tape, red ric rac ribbon, and red pearls.

Hello – I’m back with the fourth and final sneak peek for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  Today’s destination is Washington state with Seattle Chloe!  I’ve been to Seattle and I’ve even seen the Space Needle… from a distance. ;)

SeattleChloe_DanielleLounds

I stamped Chloe on white cardstock and cut out with an Oval die (Spellbinders).  I did some coloring with Copic markers and added some Glossy Accents to the Space Needle.  The designer paper is from the My Favorite Things designer paper pad (My Mind’s Eye) and the polka dot grosgrain is from May Arts.  I used a couple of MFT dies to create a the zig zag and tab accents.  The “Thanks a Latte” sentiment is from the From the Heart Funnies stamp set (Taylored Expressions).

01010101010 – Robot speak for “Hello!”  It is that time of the month when the design team for There She Goes Stamps gives some lovin’ on some oldie but goodie stamp sets.  This month we are all about the bots and are featuring: Friendbot, Birthdaybot and Nursebot.  For my sample I inked up the Friendbot set to make a card with a boyish color scheme: gray, red, yellow and aqua.

    TSGA_Friendbots_DanielleLounds

All of the papers are from the Basic Grey Bowties designer paper pad.  I paired them with some PTI ribbon, a super small piece of washi tape and some Twinkle Goosebumps from Queen & Co.  I also used a hexagon border die (MFT) to cut out some red cardstock and add it as an accent behind the one panel. The main image was colored with Copic markers and then trimmed.  I added Glossy Accents and Diamond Stickles here and there after adhering to the card front.

SCRS Release Preview: New York Josh

Hello – Welcome to the third day of previews for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  We are featuring another fabulous destination stamp – New York Josh!

    NewYorkJoshSample_DanielleLounds

I went for a crisp and clean look on this card.  There is just a skinny strip of designer paper, a bit of washi tape (film pattern by Queen & Co.) a few rhinestones and some puffy clouds (Cloud Dies from Taylored Expressions) embellished with a bit of Glossy Accents and glitter.  I used the “Hello” sentiment from the Anna Wight – All Things With Love set from Whipper Snapper.  The new SCRS stamps come with some fabulous sentiments but I didn’t have them when I made my cards, but I’ll use them next time. ;)
