Joy and Candy Canes

I have the feeling that you are going to have mixed feelings for my next card.  Either you are one of those people who is on the ball and has already finished your Christmas shopping or you’re not.  If you are the first you will probably enjoy it, however if you are the second, like me, it will probably make you groan.  LOL.

JoyCandyCaneCard_DanielleLounds

Yup, it is Christmas card time!  Although this beaut is a bit more generic with a candy cane main image and a “joy” sentiment.

I’m still on a Distress Glitter kick so after die cutting a frame from chipboard and painting it with Antique Linen Distress Paint (let dry before the next step), I completely covered it with Glossy Accents and then added tons and tons of Antique Linen Distress Glitter. Oh joy! :D

JoyCandyCaneCard_YCloseup_DanielleLounds

Stamped a sentiment (on light blue cardstock) and the candy cane (on watercolor paper) and colored them with Distress Markers.  After adhering the cut out images I coated the joy with Glossy Accents.  Added a little ribbon, brads, and designer paper to finish the card. :D

TSG Blog Hop: Henna Swirls

Hello, hello!  It is the fourth and final day of sneak peeks for There She Goes and we have yet another fabulous set to share with you!  It is not Halloween themed but I still love it! :D

Henna Swirls Blog Hop Challenge

Our first set being released by our new designer Chaitali Narla is Henna Swirls. It will be the most gorgeous addition to your CAS creations, scrapbook pages, and perfect for background building! There are tons of ways to use these gorgeous borders!

Chaitali

Henna Swirls is a 2x6 set that includes a total of 2 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

ThankYouSwirlsTag_DanielleLounds

I used one of the borders to create a colorful tag.  I colored the tag with a bunch of different Distress Stains and once dry stamped the henna swirls across the tag a bunch of times.

ThankYouSwirlsTag_YCloseup_DanielleLounds

I used a couple of sentiment stamps from the Fabulous set to create the “thank you from the heart” flag that I layered over the background.  For embellishment I used a leafy branch (cut using a Taylored Expressions die), paper flowers, goosebump rhinestones (Queen & Co),  blue rhinestones (Martha Stewart), washi tap (Queen & Co), and some white silk ribbon (May Arts).  I used small pretties so that very little of the background was covered. :)

TSG Blog Hop: If the shoe fits…

I’m back! Are you ready for more Halloween?  Yes, I knew you were and I have another fun set to sneak peek today!

Halloween Tags Blog Hop Challenge

It’s another SUPER fun set from Melyssa, one that will get you ready for all your Halloween gift giving ideas! Not only is it a PERFECT tag set, the sentiments and image could be used for cards, scrapbooking, and anything else you desired!

Halloween Tags is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 19 stamps and will sell for $18.00.

SpookyGoodTreatTins_A_DanielleLounds

I decided to switch things up and alter a couple of metal tins that I’ve had in my collection for… well, quite some time. I already have homes planned for these lovelies, thus the names added to the sides of the tin using label letters and washi tape.

These were very quick to make and I used up some scraps of stuff I had sitting on my desk from other projects – die cut leaves and checkered washi tape. To start I wrapped some designer paper around the bottoms of the tins and then added the names.

SpookyGoodTreatTins_B_Single_DanielleLounds

I used the coordinating Silhouette cut file to cut out the tags and then stamped the frame image in Tangerine Tango ink on the tag.  I stamped each tag with a different image from the set (one that suited my niece and one that would be a little more boyish for my nephew).  It needed a little more pizazz so I added dots around the edges using a white gel pen and then added some polka dot organdy ribbon.  Behind the tag there is some burlap ribbon, a die cut branch of leaves and a bit of washi tape.  To finish I added some rhinestones.

For my card I used one of the witches from Bewitched By You and a sentiment from Totally Witchin’.

WitchEveryDay_DanielleLounds

I just love the smile on her face… so coy and I can just hear her giggling cackle.  Hee hee cackle hee hee. ;) I colored her with Copic markers and added a bit of Glossy Accents to her vial of bat dust (I’m just guessing). I also added Stickles to the contents of the pot.

WitchEveryDay_ImageCloseup_DanielleLounds

Added some twine, ribbon, and glossy bat stickers to accent the card.

Later Gator Tag

Hello!  Are you having a good weekend?  I’ve been busy dong a little of this and a little of that, including making a tag to share with you.  A toothy gator tag.

LaterGatorTag_DanielleLounds

I thought I would make a project that wasn’t fall or Halloween themed – just for you.  Since it has been a while I thought I should make a mixed media tag.  I have to say, if you are not into the whole mixed media thing just replace all the paint and texture I use on the tag base with some pretty designer paper.  :D

And speaking of paints and texture, this is how I made the tag background:

  • Scribble some Crushed Olive, Scattered Straw, and Broken China Distress Paint on a craft sheet.  Spritz with water and then smash the tag into the paint, repeating until the tag is completely covered.  There was a lot of paint on my tag so I took a second tag and sandwiched them together to pull off some of the paint.  Then let dry (or speed up the process with a heat gun.
  • Using a stencil (I used THS001 Cargo), apply modeling paste to the tag.  This created the raised alphabet.  Let dry.
  • For more color spritz the tag with Calypso Teal Dylusions Ink Spray.  Let Dry.

LaterGatorTag_YImageCloseup_DanielleLounds

I kept the rest of the tag simple, using dies to cut out a couple of shapes from cardstock and corrugated cardboard.  The sentiment and gator are from the Zoo Crew stamp set.  I added a few final touches: black baker’s twine, light green polka dot ribbon, and black rhinestones.

There She Goes Again: What a Hoot

Hi all!

It is that time of the month when the design team for There She Goes Stamps gives some lovin’ on some oldie but goodie stamp sets. This month we are featuring some delightful fall sets: You’re a Hoot! (which I used on my card), Pumpkins on the Vine, and Home Sweet Home: Halloween Additions.

LoveYouOwlways_DanielleLounds

I went for quick and clean on this card.  Since I wanted a lovey dovey feeling I stamped two owls and made them a pair – just changed up their coloring a bit.  They were colored with Copic markers and Spica pens and a bit of Glossy Accents was added to their eyes.  For embellishment I used a bit of designer paper, a wood button, small length of baker’s twine, and a few rhinestones.

Make sure to head over to the TSG Blog where you can see a bunch of great samples using these sets! :)
