Happy Happy Bird-day

Hello friends -

I’m popping in today with a fun birthday card to share with you.  Yes, I thought it would be nice to put aside the Christmas/Winter stamps and make something different. Although I wouldn’t say I am done with those themes by any stretch of the imagination – even a few projects in the works as I type this. LOL.

HappyHappyBDdayPopNCut_A_DanielleLounds

Onto the birthday card – I went with a very cheerful color theme on this one and used the Birthday Buddies stamp set from Paper Smooches for both the sentiment and bird images. That there is one happy chubby bird and he glitters (Crystal Stickles from Ranger).

HappyHappyBDdayPopNCut_BCloseup_DanielleLounds

The inside of the card is even more fun than the front. I used a Pop ‘n Cut die to cut out the inside of the card.

I added another fat birdie and a sentiment that is stuck in place using a memo pin. For embellishment I added a few rhinestones here and there.

Thanks for stopping by!

TSG Blog Hop: Merry Christ-moose

Hello all – It is the final day of sneak peeks for There She Goes and we have some great new sets to showcase.

Merry Christmas_Nice Rack_Nordic Borders_ Blog Hop Challenge

We at TSG love our holiday sets, and we love our animals, too…so whenever they can combine, we are THRILLED.  The new Merry Christ-moose set from Torico is no exception!

Print

Merry Christ-moose is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 18 stamps and will sell for $18. It will be released on Saturday, November 30th at 11pmEST.

Made to go along with the Merry Christ-moose stamp set, Nice Rack has all those sentiments that may be a little bit naughty, but are definitely nice.

Nice Rack is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $9. It will be released on Saturday, November 30th at 11pmEST.

Torico has also created this GORGEOUS Nordic Borders set as well, which will add a finished, homey feel to any of your creations.

Nordic Borders is a 2x6 set that includes a total of 3 stamps and will see for $3. It will be released on Saturday, November 30th at 11pmEST.

MerryMoosemisSample_A_DanielleLounds

I loved all of Torico’s new sets but I only had time to make one card so I used the fun moose head image from Merry Christ-moose to create this simple card. I’m on a ruffled gingham kick so I used a bit of green ribbon on this card. Kept the layout simple and clean and focused most of my attention to coloring the moose. Kicked things up a notch by added Glossy Accents and glitter to the bulbs and I finished with some pink cheeks and white freckles on the moose.

TSG Blog Hop: Be Merry and a Happy Thanksgiving

Hi all – first I want to wish all of my US friends a very Happy Thanksgiving. Hope you have a festive day with your dear ones and may the mashed potatoes and gravy be plentiful (my favorites).

Next – I’m excited to share another stamp set that There She Goes will be releasing this month.  And it was illustrated by me. Woo hoo! I really hope you like this one!

Be Merry Blog Hop Challenge

Our second set from new illustrator Danielle Lounds (that is me) find’s us celebrating the holidays with her unique style of combining handwritten sentiments, with super cute images.

Be Merry is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 9 stamps and will sell for $18.00. It will be released on Saturday, November 30th at 11pmEST.

BeMerryCard_A_DanielleLounds

I used the snowflake image to create a quick card.  I did do a bit of embellishing by added glitter to the snowflakes after coloring with Copic markers.

BeMerryCard_BCloseup_DanielleLounds

The layout is simple with just a bit texture added via enamel dots and black ribbon that I pleated once and stitched in place.

BeMerryCard_CCloseup_DanielleLounds

And a bonus project for you! This time I used the small tag image and one of the sentiments to decorate a goodie bag filled with some of my fave holiday candies.

BeMerryGiftBag_A_DanielleLounds

The top of the bag was folder over and a strip of designer paper was stapled to the front. I then added a small piece of washi tape and tied the tag onto the bag (I did use a foam dimensional behind the tag to hold it in place). For a final touch I added a few sequins in a contrasting color. Very quick and easy!

TSG Blog Hop: ‘Tis the Season

Hi all – I’m back today with more inspiration featuring a soon-to-be-released stamp set from There She Goes: ‘Tis the Season.

Tis The Season Blog Hop Challenge

A full set of fun from artist Wendy Leach, features our favorite sock goblin, but lots of other winter accessories to go along with it! This whimsical and fun holiday set is sure to be a favorite.Designs by Wendy Leach (1)

Tis the Season is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 12 stamps and will sell for $24. It will be released on Saturday, November 30th at 11pmEST.

TisTheSeasonSample_A_DanielleLounds

My card features one of the accessory images and a big bold sentiment. I had a lot of fun coloring that tree and adding plenty of glitter and bling so it would shine brightly.

TisTheSeasonSample_BCloseup_DanielleLounds

And another fun feature… behind the tree image is a small bag with a tag inside!  It is both a card and a tag.

TisTheSeasonSample_CCloseup_DanielleLounds

I stamped another sentiment from the set on the tab in black.  I then stamped an ornament image in VersaMark and brushed Confetti White Perfect Pearls (Ranger) over the image while the ink was still wet. It is translucent so the sentiment shows through.

TSG Blog Hop: Dare to Jump

I’m back today with another card. This time a sneak peek at a new There She Goes stamp set. :)

Dare To Jump Blog Hop Challenge

This winter sports silhouette stamp is perfect for the winter enthusiast in your life. Not only will it make amazing cards, but it will ROCK for scrapbooking, too.

Chaitali

Illustrated by Chaitali, Dare To Jump is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 9 stamps and will sell for $15.00. It will be released on Saturday, November 30th at 11pmEST.

DareToJumpSample_DanielleLounds

A bit of déjà vu from my card earlier today – I used the chalkboard technique again. I didn’t intentionally post two similar cards on the same day. It just worked out that way. :)

I stamped the main image in Unicorn White (Hero Arts) on black cardstock.  I used a couple of sentiments from the same set here and there on the card.

SCRSC118: Give Thanks

Hello! Hello!

It’s time for another Sparkle Creations challenge and since it is almost Thanksgiving I decided to make a Give Thanks card featuring Fall Charlotte. :)

SCRSC118GiveThanks_A_DanielleLounds

This week our challenge is to use the following picture for inspiration. For all of the details of the challenge head over to the Sparkle Creations Blog. You can find Sparkle Creations stamps online at the store HERE.

A closer look at the inspiration photo…

scrsc118 - inspiration

I loved the colors and the itty bitty chalkboard signs so I incorporated both of those elements into my card.

The main image is stamped in white (Unicorn White by Hero Arts) on black cardstock and some smudges were added here and there to make it look like a drawing on a blackboard.

SCRSC118GiveThanks_BCloseup_DanielleLounds

Give Thanks sentiment is from Taylored Expressions and was stamped on a die cut circle.  Added a slightly larger circle cut from designer paper behind it and then added some rhinestone bling.

Recipe:
Stamps: Fall Charlotte (SCRS).
Paper: Marshmallow (Bazzill Card Shoppe), Black (MFT), Choice Snow White (TE), Happy Haunting (My Mind’s Eye).
Ink: Jet Black Archival (Ranger), Unicorn White (Hero Arts).

Happy Holidays House: Midnight Sky Background

Hello everyone! Thought I would kick off the weekend with a fun house scene I created using inks and dies.

MidnightHouse_A_DanielleLounds

Thought you would like to follow along as I create the night sky behind the house. To prep I gathered some supplies: Distress Stains, watercolor paper, Q-Tips, water, and rhinestones. To start I die cut the house using the House Thinlets die set and assembled so I could use it as a guide.

MidnightHouse_Background1_DanielleLounds

Next I scribbled the Distress Stains onto the craft mat.  To pick up the color I just smashed the watercolor paper into the ink and then swished the paper around to pick up as much color as possible.

MidnightHouse_Background2_DanielleLounds

There were still some white spots so I filled them in by applying Distress Stain directly to the paper. Then I dried the paper using a heat tool.

MidnightHouse_Background3_DanielleLounds

Now here is the fun part. I wanted there to be a bit of a halo effect around the rhinestone stars so I applied drops of water to the paper using a Q-Tip to remove a bit of color. I used the house as a guide so I would place the stars in the perfect locations. Once done making star spots let dry again.

MidnightHouse_Background4_DanielleLounds

Sponge the edges with Distress ink. I used Frayed Burlap.

MidnightHouse_Background5_DanielleLounds

Mat on Frayed Burlap Distress Cardstock and then stitch the edges using a sewing machine. Then add the rhinestones (I ended up just using green ones). Woot! You now have a starry sky. :D

MidnightHouse_Background6_DanielleLounds

I wanted some texture behind the house so I die cut some flags from burlap paper using the Ribbon Flags Decorative Strip Die. I sponged the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink before adhering to the background. It’s not really grass or a fence… but I like the look. ;)

MidnightHouse_Background7_DanielleLounds

Now that the background is done, just need to adhere everything together. I added a bit of jute for more texture and added a sentiment from the CMS155 Simple Sayings stamp set. I’d already added some Picket Fence Distress Stickles to the roofline and window boxes but it wasn’t enough. So I added a second thick coating of the Stickles for even more glittery-ness. I also added Glossy Accents to the panes of the windows.
