Dino Party Time

Hello -

My crafty mojo seems to be making a comeback. Although this card did give me a couple of fits. I knew I wanted to use the Tim Holtz – Stars stencil on the main panel. But how? First I tried dabbing Evergreen Bough Distress Paint on white cardstock but it ended up everywhere and just looked messy. Next, I tried using Confetti White Perfect Pearls on white cardstock but you couldn’t tell where the stars started and ended. Fail! Then I had the bright idea to switch to ivory cardstock and to use White Linen Dylusions Ink Spray. Yes! Very subtle but you can tell that the shapes are stars. Winner!

For the layout, I was inspired by this week’s Retro Sketch: #99. The dino image is from Party Posse (Paper Smooches) and was colored with Copic markers and embellished with just a touch of Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter and Glossy Accents. The designer paper is from the Happy Go Lucky paper pad (Fancy Pants) – I find the color palette used in this line delightful so you may be seeing it a lot on my blog.

For a final touch I used a few rhinestones and some burlap string. As usual, most of the layers were adhered together using foam dimensionals.
