Are you ready to see something unusual. Well, at least unusual on this blog. ;) I made a card and didn’t use a single stamp. Oh-em-gee! Instead the card features die cut hearts, a watercolor background, and a sentiment made from stickers.
To create the background I started with watercolor paper that was misted with water and then used a paintbrush and Distress Ink Reinkers (Evergreen Bough and Peacock Feathers) diluted with just a bit of water to apply color to the paper. I ended up with some drops of color on my craft mat, so after drying the paper I then smashed it into the leftovers on the craft mat to make the smaller splotches.
The hearts were die-cut from Happy Go Lucky designer paper using the Mini Hearts Movers & Shapers die. I stitched them in place using my sewing machine and then ‘fluffed’ the edges so that they had some volume. To finish I added Glossy Accents to the edges and then dusted with Clear Rocky Candy Distress Stickles.
The final touch was adding a couple of Seasonal Chit Chat stickers, popped in place using foam dimensional tape. I rounded the corners and adhered the panel to a card base with more foam dimensional tape. Yeah, I use a lot of this tape.
So, I just love how this card turned out. What do you think?
