Best Day Ever

Hello. Switched gears a bit for this project and paired orange with yellow instead of aqua. Thought I would give you a break from that color combo. lol.

First off, I played along with this week’s Retro Sketches Challenge: #103. It’s a tag layout; I couldn’t resist.

Next – I was curious about how Distress Paint and Ultra Thick Embossing Powder would work together. What I discovered – it does turn out quite neat but you must work quickly. If you don’t the Distress Paint will be a bit too dry and the embossing powder won’t stick.

1 – Gather your supplies and do some prep work. Use tissue tape or removable tape to fasten the tag and the stencil to a work surface. Get the paint ready for dabbing – I put a little onto a paper bowl and had a clean foam applicator within reach.

2. Dab on paint – I used Mustard Seed and Wild Honey. Work quickly. Once done dabbing remove the tissue tape and stencil.

3. Coat with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder and pour off excess.

4. Heat set and enjoy the results. Ohhh… ahhhh… pretty.

Once I was done ogling the background I pulled out some supplies and decorated the tag. The sentiment is from a new Paper Smooches set: Captured Memories. I added a few Chit Chat words as well. Stars, mini clips, black seam binding, and pom pom trim for embellishment.
