Butterfly Hellos

Hey sweet friends -

How about an inky project today? As in Reinkers, paint brushes, and watercolor paper. Just a few of my favorite things. And speaking of favorite things that is the theme of this month’s inspiration challenge which you can check out on the Inspiration Emporium Blog. And there is a great prize – so I recommend you check it out. We’d love to have you participate.

And here is my inky project featuring a few favorite things: favorite technique of water coloring a background, die cut butterflies and some pretty contrasting sequins.

For the background I used Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, and Pumice Stone Reinkers. After the background dried I heat embossed the hello from Bold Buzzwords in white. I then chomped some corners, matted on black and stitched with heavy duty white thread.

For embellishment I diecut a couple of butterflies from designer paper and black cardstock using the Mini Butterflies Movers & Shapers dies. I then layered them together and embellished with a couple of white enamel dots. After embellishing the card based with a bit of tissue tape and a small strip of matching designer paper I adhered the butterfly in place using a foam dimensional.

It needed just a bit of contrasting color so I added three aqua sequins (another favorite).

So what are your favorite crafty things? I’d love to hear about them. :)
