CC3C4 and C4C240: Stencil Fun

Hello crafty friends -

I’m a bit late posting my card for this week’s Crazy 4 Challenges #240: Stenciling challenge. My dad came down for a visit so it has been a bunch of shopping and projects around the house… and it has only been just over a day. While he was recuperating this evening I snuck into the craft room and made this card:

See that background? I created it using the Layering Stencil: Texture Paste technique from Tim Holtz’s A Compendium of Curiosities 3 Book. Which is the current challenge from the Curiosity Crew. You can find all the details HERE and check out the amazing prizes including a $25 gift certificate from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

I don’t usually double up on challenges but these two just went hand in hand. ;)

After creating the background I stamped an image from Mini Blueprints 4 in Jet Black and colored with Distress Markers (Antique Linen and Walnut Stain). I then cut out and adhered it and some jute to the main panel. I stamped a sentiment on the card base in Jet Black and then adhered the main panel in place with foam tape. Finished with a few enamel dots and sequins.

Hope you enjoyed my stenciled project.

  5. Danielle...your card is so cute! I really love your use of Tim's letter stencil on your background. I also love that after you colored it, you cut it into a circle and used it on a white background. How striking is THAT?!? I also love your blueprint telephone with the twine behind it. Great embellishment! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CC3C. <3 Candy

  7. I love the simplicity of your design and how the black elements ground it. That white background frames your design perfectly!
