Oh Deer!

Last week and weekend I played along with the Dare to Get Dirty challenges at SplitCoastStampers so I have a stack of cards made and ready to share with you. One by one. Because I like to draw out the process. Not really. I’m just slow at writing up card details. ;)

So the first card I will be sharing is one of my favorites and it uses the Into the Woods stamp set from Lawn Fawn. That deer is just too cute to resist… so I finally broke down and bought the set.

For this card I started with the background, by applying embossing paste to a piece of burlap using the Bubble Layering Stencil. Once dry, I die cut and then mounted on a slightly smaller piece of kraft cardstock. This was to provide stability to the burlap. I finished the layer with some lime green seam binding tied in a bow.

For the main elements, I stamped a couple of the trees on white cardstock using a Rich Cocoa Memento Luxe ink. Next I stamped the little deer on white cardstock and colored with markers, adding a few dots to his/her cheeks using a white gel pen. Finished the scene by stamping several hearts, coloring, coating with a glitter pen and then cutting out and adhering here and there. Lots of texture, just the way I like it. :D

Thanks for stopping by!
