Most Wonderful Time

My Inspiration Emporium teammates, Shelly and Yvonne, have been creating some amazing takes on the Tim Holtz November Tag. I just couldn’t resist all of that grungy cardboard goodness so I had to play along too.

I don’t have any of the Texture Fades die/embossing folder combos so instead I used the Circles Movers and Shapers to cut an opening in the cardboard and created a shaker. The cardboard was sponged along the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and I added some additional texture using the same color and the Speckles Layering Stencil.

The opening was lined with a piece of acetate and after adding a foam tape border I added a variety of sequins: silver stars, small satin gold cupped, and clear flat. For the backing to the shaker I used Distress Paints to color a piece of white cardstock. Once dry I peeled the backing from the foam tape and adhered the painted piece in place.

I applied several colors of Alcohol Inks to Glossy Cardstock and then stamped the small tree image from the Mini Blueprints 6 stamp set. I trimmed each tree and added a small glittery enamel dot to the top. The trees were attached with foam dimensionals.

Next I painted a plastic word and dried. I was careful using the heat tool so that the plastic wouldn’t warp or shrink (been there done that before). I used some white twill ribbon and ivory jute to tie the word in place. Finished up the sentiment with a few label letter stickers. For a final touch I added a couple more enamel dots here and there.

More foam tape was used to attach the main panel to a white card base. I’m loving all the texture. How about you?
