A Little Love in the Mail

Hello Sweet Friends -

I have another valentine to share today, this time using the new You’ve Got Mail – Valentine a la carte image from Taylored Expressions that I illustrated.

WishesOnAWireValentineSample_A_DanielleLounds

I went with an extra simple layout and focused all of my attention on coloring the main image in subtle colors. I embellished the little hearts with a Clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen and Glossy Accents. Once finished I cut out the image using Label Stacklets 2.

To decorate the card I added some light pink polka dot ribbon from May Arts and I made a love flair button. Behind the main image there is just a panel of Toffee cardstock and a small piece of designer paper from Kaiser Craft.

Sweet Love Birds

Hello friends!

I hope you had a great week. I had grand plans to post a few cards over the holiday… but I ended up being too busy with traveling and visiting with family and friends. You forgive me, right? ;)

I did have some time to craft with my mom and I made this lovely valentine featuring a newer stamp I illustrated for Taylored Expressions, Wishes on a Wire – Valentine.

I colored the image with Copic markers and embellished with some Stickles. I die cut the word “sweet” using the Mini Caps Alphas and Numbers die set. After adhering to the card base I coated the letters with Glossy Accents.

Xmas Tag #7: Jolly Bear

Hello! I’m popping in late tonight (or very early morning) to share the last of my Christmas tags. I’ve had a lot of fun making these but I’m definitely ready for a different theme and color scheme.

XmaxTagPolarBear_A_DanielleLounds

For today’s tag I used the BB Cool Day stamp set from My Favorite Things. I’ve always loved these bears illustrated by Torico so I had to add this set to my collection.

The background behind the bear was created using another stamp from My Favorite Things, BG Typewriter Text Background. I stamped the background in VersaMark and heat embossed with Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder from Ranger – gives it a very subtle shimmer and sparkle.

I spelled out “Jolly” using the Mini Caps Alpha & Numbers dies from Taylored Expressions.

For embellishment I stamped the coordinating mitts, trimmed, and embellished with Liquid Applique. I then added some twine and adhered them to the tag with foam dimensionals. I also added a little Tree Flair Button that I created.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to be back in the near future with another project but if I’m not have a very Merry Christmas. :)

Xmas Tags #6: Bunny with Decorations

Hello Crafty Friends!

Hope you have been having a great weekend. I’ve started my cookie baking and we’ll see how much I accomplish today and tomorrow. If you don’t hear from me… you’ll find me taste testing the results… for quality control purposes. Heh heh.

For my next tag in the series, I used one the sets I illustrated for Taylored Expressions, Deck the Halls.

XmaxTagBunny_A_DanielleLounds

I created a little scene using the bunny and the Birch Tree Border die. To add more depth to the cut out I sponged the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I also sprinkled a few sequins here and there to mimic little snowflakes.

The bunny was stamped in black ink twice, once on the hill of snow and a second time on white cardstock that was trimmed after coloring. The trimmed bunny was adhered over the first one using foam dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by. I need to get back to baking but I do have a couple more tags to share so expect to hear from me soon.

Xmas Tag #5: Merry Kissmoose

Hello friends,

I’m back with some more xmas crafty tag goodness. This time I pulled out an older set, Chubby Chum Pals from Paper Smooches, to make my tag. In particular, I used the moose image and coordinating sentiment.

I stamped the moose three times and colored various portions using Copic markers. After trimming with scissors I layered them pieces together using foam tape. To finish I added a little hat and some googlie eyes.

Here is a close-up of the moose. I used some Liquid Applique and glitter on the trim of the hat. Behind the moose is a white panel that I embossed with the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder from Taylored Expressions. And behind that is the manila tag that was sponged with a stencil from MFT and Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

There are some fun embellishments layered along the bottom: wood patterned designer paper, burlap ribbon from May Arts, a sentiment stamped on red cardstock, and some very narrow washi tape. I finished the tag with some green enamel dots and a flair badge that is one of my designs.

Hope you enjoyed today’s tag… I think it is my favorite so far. :)

Xmas Tags #4

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to day four of tag inspiration. This time I’m featuring a sweet gingerbread image from the Christmas Blueprint 3 set. I stamped the image in black and colored with Copic markers. I added a touch of Diamond Stickles to his gumdrop buttons and the frosting trim.

GingerbreadManTag_A_DanielleLounds

Behind the gingerbread man is a glassine pocket filled with a kraft panel stamped with the wood background from the Wallpaper and Wood set and a variety of sequins. After filling I folded over the flap and stitched across the top.

I used a scrap of designer paper, some film strip, and a bit of washi tape as embellishment behind the envelope. I also add some Remnant Rubs here and there and a circle punched from red cardstock.

This is one of those tags that I had to rework a couple of times before I liked the final result. Reworking included ditching the original tag base… but it was worth it. :)
