Happy Penguin

Hello crafty friends -

Hopefully those of you experiencing the latest artic chill are keeping warm. I’ve been dragging a toasty warm throw around with me to ward off the cold and when that doesn’t do the job I break out the hot chocolate. Nom nom nom. ;)

Now there is a critter who would probably enjoy this weather… this super chubby and adorable penguin from Mama Elephant. Yeah, he looks happy. A little too happy. Heh.

I wanted to play with a bit of paint and create a colorful background so I pulled out some Dina Wakley Media Paints from Ranger, my brayer, a sponge, and a layering stencil. I started with white cardstock and brayered the lime and teal here and there. I sponged more of the green using the chevron layering stencil. For a final touch of color I added some small blobs of lemon here and there.

Once dry, I stamped the Sentimental Borders image across the top a couple of times using Jet Black Archival Ink. Added some washi tape, white enamel dots, and a die cut circle as accents. I stamped and die cut the penguin image and colored with Copic Markers.

A little corner chomping and a liberal application of foam tape and I was done.

Hope you enjoyed this bright card. Any questions just let me know!
