Embroidery Hoop Decorations

Hello!

On this Thanksgiving eve I thought I would share a fun project that I made a couple weeks ago featuring small embroidery hoops and simple little Christmas scenes.

I’ve had this idea for a while and I was delighted that these little ornaments turned out exactly as I pictured. That doesn’t always happen. ;)

I picked up a bunch of Darice 3” embroidery hoops and some muslin fabric. I used circle dies to cut the muslin to size and lined the hoops before decorating them.

To decorate I cut a white circle from shimmery white cardstock using a Stitched Circle Die (MFT). I then used scissors to cut two snow banks/drifts from the circle. I adhered the snow banks to the hoops leaving the upper edge open so that the die cut houses and tree could be tucked underneath.

The houses are from the Happy New Home stamp set (Taylored Expressions) and were stamped in black and colored with Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and embellished each house with Glossy Accents and glitter.

I also die cut a tree from Grass Green felt using the Evergreens die set (Taylored Expressions). It was tucked behind the tall house. I added a few clear sequins to mimic the feel of falling snow. To finish the ornaments I added some jute and a rustic button to the top.

These little ornaments would also make cute “tags” to add to a package. My plan is to use a couple this way and to hang a couple on the Christmas tree.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are having a delightful week.
