Warm Thoughts on a Cold Day

Hello everyone,

The weather has been unseasonably warm here, yet still on the chillier side. And my family north of me is being buried in copious amounts of the white stuff. I think they could use some warm thoughts this week. Perhaps I will send one of them the card I am sharing today! If I can make it to the post office...

For this card I used the Joyous Juniper Stamp Set and Joyous Juniper Dies from Technique Tuesday. After stamping in black on Kraft card stock I colored the images with PrismaColor pencils and accented with Glossy Accents and glitter. It needed a bit more texture so I sprizted the card stock with a brown Distress Ink marker using the Tim Holtz Marker Spritzer.

Because the glitter wasn't enough I added a bunch of jelly rhinestones. To finish I stamped a sentiment from the same set on aqua card stock and die cut.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you to Tam at Technique Tuesday for the stamps/dies that I am showcasing on today's project!

Dam Good Birthday

Hello everyone,

I'm starting off the year with my first birthday card! And this will be a shocker but I have plans to mail this card.

I'm terrible about going to the post office but I really need to do better this year. It's much more fun to make someone's day with a special card instead of just sticking them (the cards, not the people) in a box on a shelf. ;)

For this card, I used the Beau and Beatrice Beaver stamp set and Beau and Beatrice Beaver crafting dies from Technique Tuesday. I stamped the beaver on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. I did the same with the log image (times three). Once colored the images were cut out using the coordinating dies.

I used just a few pieces of designer paper and a couple pieces of card stock for the layers, stamping the sentiment on an aqua piece before die cutting with a stitched rectangle die.

And since I wanted this card to be on the manly side I only used a few gold rhinestones for embellishment. I didn't quite succeed on the "manly" - the scalloped border was a bit much. lol.

That is it for today. Hope you all enjoy the first weekend of the new year. I'm planning to take down the Christmas decorations, do a bit of cleaning and purging, and hopefully have some time to hang out in the craft room. How about you?

Disclosure: Thank you to Tam at Technique Tuesday for the stamps/dies that I am showcasing in today's project!
