Okay... so I don't have a card to share today but I did draw this. :) Now if only I had a real pumpkin costume for my real fat cat. Heh heh!

Everything but the Kitchen Sink Card

So I have a card to share tonight. It's a bit colorful. It's a little over the top with the Liquid Pearls. Yes... I threw everything but the kitchen sink at it. Some things stuck and some fell off. Hee hee. ;)


I colored the owls with Copic markers and Copic spica pens. I added a touch of Black Glossy Accents to the eyes of the owls and let dry. I then applied a coating of clear Glossy Accents to the eyes and various portions of the birds.

I accented the card with a crumpled flower, twill tape and a bit of Divine Twine. And I added a bunch of dots using Black Glossy Accents and Gold Liquid Pearls.

A Little Xmas Joy... on a Sleigh!

Hi all!

I have a sweet little Christmas card to share tonight using a Pure Innocence stamp set. I stamped the little girl and her sleigh in black ink on Buttercream cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I added a touch of glitter to the tree using Ruby Red Stickles (courtesy of my mom - she sent me a whole bunch of different colors! Yay!)

As usual I stitched the edges of the layers with my sewing machine and used some twine and ribbon to accent the main image. I cut a square from Sahara Sand cardstock and stamped the sentiment. I used the Corner Chomper to round the corners and a 1/16" circle punch for the two little holes. I adhered the sentiment in place with dimensionals and then threaded more the twine through the holes and tied in place. I should warn you... I bought a lot of this twine... you may be seeing it again and again on my projects. :)

Sparkly Snowflake Box

Hi all!

I've had this little paper mache box sitting on my desk for the last couple of weeks. I even painted it with a metallic green paint... but all it has been doing is sitting there, staring at me, begging to be decorated. But I was drawing a complete blank. It must be because it has six sides. If it was just a square I would have had it decorated in an instant, but those extra sides have been throwing me for a loop. However, last night inspiration struck. Oh yay! And now I have a pretty decorated box sitting on my desk... begging to be gifted to someone. ;)

I cut a length of designer paper and scored every 1/4". I then scalloped the one edge and pleated the paper. I attached the ends together to create a pleated circle. I then added a coating of Angel Wings Shimmerz paint. Next I stamped a snowflake from the Winter Wonderland set in Bermuda Bay ink on white cardstock and diecut with a circle die. I matted this on a slightly larger circle cut with a pinking die. I punched a hole throught the center and attached the sentiment tag with twine. I then covered up the hole in the middle of the snowflake by adding a big pearl brad. I added a matching strip of designer to the bottom of the box and stamped along the bottom edge with another snowflake from the same stamp set. I added a length of ribbon, twine and another pearl brad. To finish the box I added some Liquid Pearls here and there. ;)

I thought it would be fun to fill this little box with a few pieces of wool blend felt and a few yards of pretty ribbon. All set and ready for gifting! :)

Three Pumpkins!

Hi all! Popping in tonight with a simpler card using the Hauntingly Delightful stamp set from TSG. I do so love making Halloween cards... now I just need to remember to mail some of them! ;)

Stamped the main image in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Copic markers and cut out. Used a clear Copic Spica pen on the pumpkins and the little star. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink on the black panel and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I wanted to use silver but I don't have any (oh shock!).

I accented the card with a few rhinestones and a bit of satin ribbon I stitched in place creating ruffles. The stitching is covered by the twine. Easy peasy!

Celebrate with Cake!

Hey peeps,

I have to make this a quick post... it is late and my cat keeps bringing me frogs. Well, just two so far, but that is plenty. It is rainy and cold outside so the little froggies are trying to find a dry place to hang and apparently my garage is it. But what they don't know is that inside the garage lurks a beast from the darkest depths who waits with great anticipation for lost weary travelers to hunt and then bring to the giant that lives upstairs. The giant who has to catch them before they get away and hide under the couch (ah yeah - she brings them to me alive). LOL/EWWW!

Anyways... onto my card! I was motivated to use one of the Pure Innoncence stamps from MFT that I have in my collection. The motivation? Umm yeah... I broke down and ordered more of them. Hee! I used the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge from last Friday for the layout.



I paper pieced the hat and dress. I covered the hat with Glossy Accents and a bit of glitter (cake frosting too). I colored the rest of the image with Copic makers, added a touch of glitter to the flames using a Gold Spica Pen and added freckles to her checks with a white gel pen. Of course I couldn't resist adding a bit of Liquid Pearls and baker's twine. I think baker's twine might have just usurped my love for the burlap string that I previously used all the time. Maybe... :)

P.S. My cat is stalking around looking for her froggie. She hasn't quite realized that I returned him to the wilds from which he came... but not back by my garage door. Hee hee! :)

Six Pack of Halloween Tag Goodness

Hi My Crafty Friends!

I enjoyed making the set of Christmas Tags I posted last Thursday so much that I decided I need to make another set. This time I thought a Halloween theme was in order. :) To get started I grabbed a few sets: Trick or Sweet for the "Spooky Sweets" and a little poem on the gift bag, Spooky Tree A la Carte for the main image and the little pumpkins and Tag... You're It! for the To/From on the back of each tag.

I stamped the spook tree in black ink on Kraft cardstock. I turned it sideways so it looked more like a branch than a tree. I trimmed the cardstock and rounded the corners before sponging with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and added White Opal Liquid Pearls. The little pumpkins were stamped in Spiced Marmalade on Choice Buttercream cardstock. After trimming the pumpkins and adhering to the spooky tree with dimensionals they were accented with a bit of glitter and Glossy Accents. I used an orange Spica Pen on three of the tags before adding the Glossy Accents and on the others I just dusted with a bit of glitter after applying the Glossy Accents.

I stamped a sentiment on green cardstock and cut out with a punch. More Spiced Marmalade was added with a sponge before adhering the sentiment to the first layer with more dimensionals. For the next layer I matted a piece of designer paper from the Fright Night Project Pantry Kit on orange cardstock from the same kit. A small band of coordinating designer paper was added to the bottom before stitching around the edges. To finish a piece of black pompom trim was adhered where the two designer papers met and a silver eyelet was added to the top. Like my first set of tags I added a tag backer which hides the messing sewing on the back. Black bakers twine as thread through the eyelet.

I kept the matching gift bag very simple (cause the chocolate inside is the important part!). I stample the "When mummies roam and pumpkins gleam, may sweets be yours on Halloween!" on a piece of designer paper, matted on black and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine. I punched two holes in the top of the bag (through front and back) after filling and threaded a length of ribbon through them to keep the bag shut (makes it much more difficult for me to filch the chocolate!).

I finished by tying one of the tags to the bag. After ripping open the bag to get to the chocolate (oh, you know you would too!) the tag could be kept.

So what do you think? Are they spooktacular? Do you like seeing tags? Because I'm thinking this would be a fun project to do every month - six new tags depending on the season or Holiday or whatever other whim takes my fancy. :)

Taylored Expressions - Release Day!

Hi Peeps!

Today is the day. All of those fabulous stamps sets, Project Pantry Kits and dies the Baker's Dozen have been showcasing the last several days are now available for purchase at Taylored Expressions! But you know us... we love to share so more projects today for your viewing pleasure! :)

I decided I needed some extra special gift tags and was in the mood for colorful so I grabbed the Snow Day Project Pantry Kit and the Sparkle and Cheer stamp set. The finished size of each tag is 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (artist trading card size).



I cut various 1/2" strips of designer paper and adhered them to 2 1/8" wide strips of white cardstock. I then cut the now covered white cardstock to 3 1/8" tall. I repeated this until I had 6 of these - one for each tag. I rounded the corners and layered on purple cardstock and then stitched the edges. I decorated each piece with a sentiment stamped on kraft cardstock, punched out and tied in place with twine (I used dimensionals to fix it in place). I stamped a star from the set on white cardstock, cut out, accented with a rhinestone and popped up with another dimensional. To finish I punched a hole at the top, set a jumbo eyelet and added some twine.

Next up I created a backing for the tag. I cut a piece of kraft cardstock to size and stamped with the bird image from the set. I added a To/From from the Tag You're It set. A few more dimensionals were used to adhere the tag back to the tag frong. I really like how these turned out - very finished and none of my sewing shows! :) What do you think? Look neat tied to a kraft gift bag perhaps?

So, I was cleaning up and realized I had quite a few little pieces of paper left over from the tag. Which meant? Make a matching card! :)

This lovely is 6" wide by 3 1/2" tall. All of the papers and embellishments used to make this card are included in the Snow Day Project Kit except the Kraft paper and the inks.

After stamping the sentiment in black, I stamped a couple of the little snowflake images in Crumble Cake ink on the kraft cardstock and embellished with rhinestones. Simple but appealing! :)

Still here? Just one more picture of everything together! See the envies in the back? I'm going to store my pretty tags in little glassine envelopes I have - keep 'em all safe and sound. :)

TE Sneak Peeks: Take Note Holidays & Keeping Tabs

Hey peeps! Welcome to Day Three of Taylored Expressions sneak peeks. Sorry - this is going to be a long post since I have a lot of pretty pictues to share! Anyways, let's get started. The Baker's Dozen are sharing some fun projects using three more stamp sets: Take Note Holidays, Keeping Tabs and Tag You're It. All of these sets and the various other goodies from the last two days will be available for purchase tomorrow at 11AM PST at Taylored Expressions.

Take Note Holidays is a continuation of the Take Note theme and is part of the Whimsical Wishes collection. Keeping Tabs is a mini companion set to Take Note Holidays and has a matching die. Tag You're It is an addition to the TE collection and is perfect for making all of those little gift tags you will need soon. It coordinates with the previously released Favor Frame die.

Now that the release chatter is out of the way, how about some pictures of my project? I decided to create an organizer to keep track of some of the random bits of info I need for the Holidays. I wanted a completely customized book so started from scratch. A couple of pieces of chipboard cut to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4", some designer paper and my Bind-it-All and I was ready to work! Note: I have been looking at The Cinch but have not taken the plunge... but maybe. Doesn't hurt to have two binding machines, does it? ;)

I decorated the book with the pretty papers from the Tinsel & Twig Project Pantry Kit and used Take Note Holidays stamp set. There is such a cute little santa in this set and fun labels that fit the Taylored Take Note dies perfectly.

I broke out my Liquid Pearls to accent the cover. I used dots of Ruby Red on the label and coated the furry parts of Santa's suit with White Opal. I also added a touch of Glossy Accents to Santa's glasses. A little ribbon, twine and button finished the look.

For the inner portion of the book I created four pocket pages. I labeled each page using the Keeping Tabs stamp set and the matching die. The pages are: Coupons, Cards, Recipes and Receipts. I probably won't keep full sized cards in here but will keep little gift tags or maybe some gift cards. The Recipes pocket is for all of those yummy new cookie recipes I want to try. Last year I made 8 different kinds of cookies for Christmas... my family was all set! Hmmm - not sure if I should try to beat that record or not! Hee! I also keep receipts for gifts I buy for a month or two just in case someone would want to return the most awesome present I got them (but they better not. *snort*).

Here is a picture of the Coupons pocket. I cut a 5 3/4" wide by 11" high piece of kraft cardstock and folded in half (the fold line is on the binding side of the page). I scored a line on the front of the pocket (from the top left corner to about 1 1/2" down on the right side) and then folded it down. I then cut a 1 1/2" piece of designer paper and adhered it to the inside back of the pocket. To finish I stitched the pocket closed. I didn't have to stitch the left side since that is where the fold is (and therefore it is already closed) but I liked the look of the stitching so continued sewing. I finished by adding a tab to the top and decorating the flap with a button and a little bit of twine.

So what do you think? Fun?! I'm thinking I will have difficulty parting with this little book so into my stash it will go! Now that you are done checking out my project why not take a look at what the rest of the team have to share today:

TE Sneak Peeks: Sparkle and Cheer

Hi all! I'm back today with more Sneak Peek goodness. Can you believe that after yesterday there are even more crafty goodies to share today? Today we are sharing peeks of two more stamp sets: Winter Wonderland and Sparkle and Cheer are both additions to the Whimsical Wishes line of stamps. Winter Wonderland is chock full of snowflake goodness AND there is even a matching die set (nicey nice!). Sparkle and Cheer is a beautiful set of silhouette images (I'll be using this set today). Details: I used the sleigh image from the set and stamped it twice: once in red and again in black. The red sleigh body was trimmed and attached over the black sleigh with dimensionals. In the shot below you can see it how the sleigh is popped up. A little red pearl finished the look.

TE Sneak Peeks: Hangin' Out at the North Pole

Hi Peeps! Today is the first day of Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks and the design team has a lot of stampy goodness to share (another huge release this month!). Today my card focuses on the Hangin' Out at the North Pole set. I was thinking that after a long night of delivering gifts out in the cold that the first thing Santa would do would be to ditch the suit and jump into the hot tub (with a hot cup of chocolate). This is the aftermath... hee hee...

Santa's suit was stamped on Snow White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. A Black Souffle pen was used on the belt and a gold Spica pen was used to color the belt buckle and buttons. After cutting out each piece I used white Liquid Applique on all of the furry portions of the suit. I let the LA dry before heat setting so that it would puff - I think I may have used a bit too much because it really puffed. A lot! ;)

And yes - I had to make the undies pink... with green sparkly polka dots. Hee hee hee!

Parade of Pumpkins

Hi everyone!

How has your weekend been going? Did you make any cards yesterday for World Card Making Day? I did! I finished quite a few projects, although I can only share the one today. But, I have some fun ones for later this week! :)

For the card I am sharing today I used the pumpkin from the TE Hangin' Out - Wicked Wardrobe set and made my own designer paper. I stamped the pumpkin... a lot... on ButterCream cardstock and then colored all of them with Copic Markers. I then trimmed the paper to size, sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink and matted on black cardstock. Of course I HAD to sew around the edges. It has become a compulsive need... must run cardstock through sewing machine. Must!



I decided to keep the rest of the embellishments simple so that the pumpkins would really pop! A little green cardstock, a few rhinestones and a green bow finished the card.

Of course after staring at all of these pumpkins I'm thinking that some pumpkin pie would be nice. Sadly I don't have any... but I do have brownies! LOL!

Just A Blog Hop

I chose to take part in sketch challenge 300 on SplitCoastStampers (what can I say? I'm on a roll with the sketches!) and to use a very cute Puddle Jumper stamp I've had for way too long without using. She's so very cute and has a ridiculously sweet bunny friend...

Stamps: Puddle Jumbers - Emma (Claudia & Co.). Paper: Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso (SU!), Aqua Mist, Spring Moss (PTI), A Walk in the Park designer (Echo Park). Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers. Other: Glossy Accents (Ranger), brown baker's twine, button (PTI), Brads (SU!), Polka Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug), heavy duty white thread and sewing machine, foam dimensionals.

Wings of Hope

Hey Peeps,

Checking in tonight with a pretty card using the TSG set Angel Mail. This is the first time I've applied ink to this set. Eep! But now I can move it from my pile of unused stamps to my pile of well loved stamps. :D

For my card I diecut a piece of Choice Buttercream cardstock with a Taylored Die, sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink and stamped a sentiment from the same Angel Mail set in black ink. I indulged my liquid pearl fascination and added dots of Ruby Red all along the edge (love it!). Next I punched a 1 1/4" circle from red Bazzill cardstock and adhered it above the sentiment. Stamped the wings in black ink, colored with Copic markers, cut out and adhered to the circle with ore dimensionals


The next layer is a couple pieces of Crate Paper adhered to more of the red Bazzill cardstock. As usual I stitched along all four edges (addicted, I tell ya!).

For the ruffly ribbon: I applied a line or two of adhesive onto the mat so that the ribbon could be tacked into place. I then did a quick pass over the middle of the ribbon with my sewing machine to fix it to the card (it's not going anywhere now!). To finish the look I doubled up a piece of twine, wrapped it around and adhered it to the back. I took a second piece of twine and sewed the button in place, tying the ends to create a bow.

A few brads and 1/4" circles of more red cardstock finished the card. Purty, don't you agree? :)
