Three Little Stockings

Tis the season to be jolly and if your toes are cold to find a nice pair of extra thick socks! However if you lose one of those socks you can always hang the second by the fireplace to be filled with Christmas-y treats! :) Hopefully fun crafty ones!

Speaking of socks here is a card I made using the stocking images from the Hangin' Out - At the North Pole set from Taylored Expressions.

I used Copic makers and spica pens to color the stockings (hey - those would make good stocking stuffers) and accented the main panel with Liquid Pearls in gold. :)

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, Kraft (SU!), Choice Snow White (TE), Tinsel and Twig Designer (The Girls' Paperie).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers, Copic Spica pens.
Other: Gold Liquid Pearls (Ranger), Divine Twine, edger punch, Oval and Scalloped Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), ribbon (PTI), foam dimensionals.

Hostess with the Mostess

Hello everyone!

I'm popping in today with a fun card I made using the What's Cookin'? stamp set and matching die from Taylored Expressions. I meant to give this card to my sister-in-law since she hosted Thanksgiving dinner but I forgot it! Oops! It would be a bit of drive to go back and get it (5 hours) so I think I'll just save it until Christmas when she hosts a Christmas Eve dinner. Heh heh heh. :)

I die cut the apron from a light pink cardstock. I then stamped the apron on a couple of different designer papers and trimmed with scissors. I used the TESC134 sketch challenge for the layout. I didn't have room on the front for the sentiment so I did a little decorating of the inside of the card and added it there.
Talk to you later... I think there is a bit of shopping to do in my near future that I need to get ready for. No, I'm not a crack of the dawn shopper... I'll wait until later in the day! :)
Stamps: What's Cookin? (Taylored Expressions).
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Espresso, Pear Pizazz (SU!), Choice Snow White (TE), Fine and Dandy Tickled Pink (My Mind's Eye).
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Memento Tuxedo Black.
Other: mat pack, paper piercer, Apron & Pocket Dies (TE), glitter brads (American Crafts), twill tape and polytwill ribbon (SU!), Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), embossing folder.

Three Little Kitties

Hi all!

I thought I would break out some sweet stamps I bought a while ago from TSG and make a cute cat card. Why? Because cats are fun (except when they are yowling outside your bedroom door at 4 in the morning... yick!). Since I was in a TSG mood I thought I would check out the Monday challenge and play along. The TSG challenge is to use the color combo: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake (aka kraft) and white... awesome! I love all of these colors.

I used the fat cat images from the set and stamped on white cardstock, colored and cut out. I mounted on the main panel with dimensionals and added a sentiment. Some pretty designer paper and a bunch of ribbon completed the look (and some sewing... but I'm trying to wean myself from sewing on every single card so only a little bit).

Later gators! I have to run and finish a few chores. :)

Stamps: Cattitude (There She Goes Clear Stamps).
Paper: Kraft, Naturals White, Cherry Cobbler (SU!), white, designer (Basic Grey).
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic Markers.
Other: Cherry Divine Twine, Scallop Die (MFT), brads, striped ribbon and Kraft Taffeta ribbon (SU!), foam dimensionals, red button.

Butterfly Box

Hi everyone!

I have an altered paper mache box to share with you tonight! I needed some packaging for a gift card and a pair of fun knee socks I picked up for my niece for her birthday and thought this would do the trick. I wanted the box to be a bit girly and just a touch edgy... after all she was turning the big 1-6! :)

I used some older designer paper from SU!, black cardstock and vellum to create a layered flower. I think there are a total of eight die cut flowers. After fastening the layers all together with a corduroy brad I used my fingers to curl the petals just a bit. I also applied Glossy Accents to the top layer and dusted with glitter. I inked two chipboard butterflies with Rich Razzleberry ink and then again with VersaMark. I then heat embossed with Heat 'n Stick powder and add a coating of glitter. To attach the butterflies I took a piece of flora wire, bent it in half and then curled it. I glued the butterflies to the wire and then added a second matching butterfly as a backing to each of the decorated ones(used dimensionals to adhere to the first ones). A few rhinestones completed the look.

I then decorated the top of the box using matching designer paper, cardstock, ribbon and a bit of macine stitching. The "16" is from a set of grunge paper shapes. I used Perfect Paper Adhesive to adhere pieces of the designer paper to the bottom of the box. Yeesh... it didn't really take me that long to decorate the box... but it sure feels like it did now that I'm typing out the recipe. ;) Lol... well I'm off to finish my other not-a-card-not-a-tag project. Hopefully I don't mess it up now that it is almost done. Hee hee.

Paper: designer (SU!), Old Olive, Basic Black, Vellum.
Ink: Rich Razzleberry Classic (SU!), VersaMark.
Other: Heat 'n Stick Powder, Glitter, Glossy Effects (Ranger), Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die (Sizzix), black satin and embroidered ribbons (May Arts), heavy duty white thread and sewing machine, 1 1/4" circle punch, floral wire, chipboard butterflies (Maya Road), grunge paper die cut numbers, adhesive rhinestones, dimensionals, corduroy brad (SU!), paper mache box.

A Quick Card

I went a little out of my comfort zone with this colorful (and quick) card! I used the Winter Wonderland and matching die set from Taylored Expressions for the layered snowflakes and sentiment. I added a few rhinestones to the top snowflake for a bit of flare... even snowflakes like to dress up once in a while. :)

A little ribbon and a strip of designer paper finished the card. Although it does look a little naked without any sewing... but I will resist the urge... maybe.

Stamps: Winter Wonderland (Taylored Expressions).
Ink: Marinia Mist Classic (SU!), Memento tuxedo Black.
Paper: Choice Snow White (Taylored Expressions), Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry (SU!), Snowy Days designer (Crate Paper).
Other: red grosgrain, Winter Wonderland Snowflakes dies (Taylored Expressions), adhesive rhinestones (Kaiser), Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers).

Wonderful Things

Hi everyone!

Hope you are having a fabulous Saturday! I managed to sneak in some time to make a card the other day using some new There She Goes stamps. For the layout I used the SplitCoastStampers SC306 sketch challenge.

I tried to keep my card simple and did not d any machine stitching... but then the edges of the layers looked naked so I added Liquid Pearls. ;)

Well, I'm off to my crafty room. Still working away on my not-a-card-not-a-tag project. :D

Snowy Days (There She Goes).

Paper: Bashful Blue, Basic Black (SU!), White (XPress It), designer (BoBunny).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers.
Other: black Divine Twine, Silver Liquid Pearls (Ranger), navy wool-blend felt, Eyelet Lace Border die (PTI), We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper, foam dimensionals.

Six Pack of Penguins!

Hi all!

I'm sharing another set of tags I made. I can't help it! I'm addicted to making tags. Although I do have another project that I'm working on that isn't a card and isn't a tag. Well... I'll just leave it at that. ;) Today's project uses the fun Penguin Pals stamp set and some pretty cardstock and designer papers from the Snow Day Project Pantry Kit.

Each of the tags is actually a 3 x 3 card. I layered designer paper on a slightly smaller square of cardstock and stitched around the edges. I punched a hole in the upper left corner and set an eyelet. Through this eyelet I threaded some twine and attached a tag with the "warm winter wishes" sentiment stamped on it. I then added a bit of satin ribbon, another piece of textured Bazzill cardstock (this time diecut with a Spellbinder's die), and a penguin that was stamped and cut out. These finished mini card fronts were each mounted onto a 3 x 3 kraft cardbase - ready to be tied to a gift!

Penguins - I stamped each penguin in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock, colored with Copics and cut out. I applied a coating of Glossy Accents to the orange parts and added Dimensional Pearls to the hats. The trick to Dimensional Pearls is to set aside whatever you applied them too for an hour or so. Don't be tempted to touch... ;)

I'm thinking these would be so cute tied to a gift bag containing some yummy packages of hot cocoa or tea... whatever drink will keep you warm on a winter day!

Stamps: Penguin Pals (Taylored Expressions).
Paper: designer papers, white cardstock and textured cardstock from Snow Day Project Pantry (Taylored Expressions), Kraft.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers.
Accessories: Glossy Accents (Ranger), heavy duty white thread and sewing machine, dimensionals, Labels 9 Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Dimensional Pearls (Ranger), Divine Twine, silver eyelets.

Taylored Expressions - Release Day!

Hi everyone!

Have you been enjoying the sneak peeks from the Bakers' Dozen over the last few days? I have! Well today is the day you can finally pick up copies of these sets for yourselves! Maybe add a small hinged tin or two to your order so you can make a wrench gift tin or two? :)

However before you run off to go shopping I have a couple more samples using the Enjoy! stamp set to share with you today. These cards are same but different. I used the same layout and the same stamp set and even the same ribbon but the papers and the accents are different! :)

The second card uses the cake and cake stand image and fabulous papers from the Snowy Day line (also by Crate Paper).

I stamped the images and a matching sentiment on Snow White card stock and then die cut with the From the Heart Frame die. Quick and easy!

And maybe you want to check out more pretty projects? If so the Bakers' Dozen have been hard at work and we have a few guests again today!

TE Sneak Peeks: Enjoy!

Hi everyone! Welcome to day three of sneak peeks for Taylored Expressions. Today we are sharing samples using the new Enjoy! stamp set concepted by Jamie Sibley and illustrated by Nancy McKinney.
The set consists of eighteen images made from rubber and precut so that you can pull 'em out of the package and start stamping immediately. One of images is a frame image designed to fit perfectly on top of a small hinged (altoid style) tin and has a coordinating Taylored Die. I used this image and the neat tool image from the same set for the following gift card holder:

Ha! You love it don't you?! Hee hee. I have so many tool addicts in my family that this gift card holder will be perfect for. I made the tin very shiny like a brand new metal tool. After all, shiny new metal tools are irrestible to certain people. ;)
I drew a wrench on gray cardstock and cut out (it's not perfect but close enough). I then embossed it with a swiss dot embossing folder and adhered it to a piece of black cardstock which I trimmed to be just a touch bigger. I wanted the wrench to be shiny so I squeezed some Glossy Accents onto it and then spread using my fingers and let dry. I stamped the frame on a piece of designer paper and matted on black cardstock for sturdiness before die cutting with the frame die. I applied a thick coating of Glossy Accents, sprinkled with glitter and let dry. Next I stamped the tools image on Choice Snow White cardstock, diecut with a Circle Nestabilities (these images also fit the 1 3/4" circle punch), colored and added dots of Black Glossy Accents.
Since tools need to be organized I thought the gift card holder could also use a handle it could be hung from. I used a crop-a-dile to punch two holes in the tin and threaded a piece of cord through them and knotted on the inside of the tin.
So what do you think? Will it make a tool addict swoon (err... I mean pass out)? :)

TE Sneak Peeks: From the Heart

Hi All!

So my plans to stay away from the Halloween candy didn't go so well. Those 3 Musketeers candy bars are just too difficult to resist (but so yummy)! Happily making cards distracts me from the candy bars sitting in the kitchen... and that brings me to the sneak peeks for today!

For my first project today I have a card I made using the SFYTT from this weekend, some yummy designer paper (not the same yummy as candy but close) and the fun new From the Heart stamp set! This set was designed with gift tags in mind and has a matching die.

Here's a closeup. The brown gingham fabric tape is delightful and I added a bit of glitter to the ball of yarn with a red Copic Spica pen.

I also made a tag that can be used to decorate a gift package. I have plans to knit a scarf or two for Christmas so this tag will be the perfect accent! :)

I used more of the gingham fabric tape and some lovely pink baker's twine. After assembling the tag I added a tag backer made out of Chococlate Chip cardstock to cover up all the odds and ends (back of the eyelet, ends of the twine...).

So what do you think? Want to see more samples using all of the fun images and sentiments from the sets? If so, check out the Bakers' Dozen and friends:

Stamps: From the Heart, From the Heart Funnies (Taylored Expressions).
Paper: Kraft, Pink Pirouette, Pure Poppy, Choice Snow White, Life is Good designer (Echo Park).
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic Markers, Copic Spica Pens, Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger).
Other: Island Lagoon Rhinestones (Kaiser), Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), Chocolate Fabric Tape, clear button, Divine Twine, silver eyelet, Word Window punch, Scalloped Eyelet border die and From the Heart Frame die (Taylored Expressions), foam dimensionals, heavy duty white thread and sewing machine.

TE Sneak Peeks: What's Cookin'?

Hi All!

Did you have a great Halloween? Get any good candy? I actually managed to resist eating any of the candy that I purchased for the trick or treaters. Of course that might have been made a little easier due to the batch of brownies I baked. lol. Speaking of baking, I have a sneak peek at one of the new sets that Taylored Expressions will be releasing Thursday: What's Cookin'?

Oh yeah, this set will be seeing quite a bit of ink at my house. I especially like the apron - it is so flirty and fun. Who says you have to look a mess while cookin'? :) Needless to say I used the apron image from the set and the coordinating die (bonus - easy peasy trimming!).

I applied a bit of glitter and some liquid pearls after die cutting and coloring. I stamped a sentiment from the set another piece of buttercream cardstock and rounded the corners. A few dimensionals and a couple of brads were used to attach it to the card.

And now for more fabulous samples using What's Cookin'? check out the Bakers' Dozen and a couple of guests:
