Been a while

Yeesh… where oh where have I been?  Not on my blog!  I have been spending time in my craft room but I haven’t been crafting.  Instead I have been putting together new furniture, purging stuff I don’t use and organizing everything that is left.  However I decided to take a short break from all of that ‘work’ and share a card I made a while back.

This is a cheery card featuring Swimming Lucy from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  I stamped her on Choice White cardstock (from TE) and colored with Copic markers and Spica pens.  After cutting out I added a touch of Glossy Accents to the flower and the glass.  I kept the layout simple and added a sentiment from the Whipper Snapper Sweet Expressions stamp set.

Hmm… a frosty drink and a vacation are sounding pretty good right now… much more tempting than cleaning the ol’ craft room! ;)

RCC54: All About Flowers

Hello!  I’m back with another card to share with all of you today (scroll down to the next post for my Sparkle Creations card). 

This week our fabulous Crewmate Andrea Ewen is challenging us to make some flowers out of ribbon, fabric, felt, or burlap! (Or you can just add pretty flowers to your project!).  For all the details on the challenge (and to see more pretty flowers) head over to the Ribbon Carousel Blog.

My card is all about the big flower with only a touch of stamping.  I used a Sizzix flower die to cut out some flower parts from a sheet of corrugated cardboard and a couple of different colors of wool-blend felt.  After adhering the layers together I punched a couple of small holes in the center of the flower and attached an orange button using jute.  More jute and some Elegant Peacock vintage seam binding were tied around main panels before adhering the flower in place using some foam dimensionals.  It is very bulky, but oh so nice! :)

SCRSC80: Wings and Circular Things

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is time for a new Sparkle Creations Rubber stamps challenge!  And this week we have a fun umbrella to use as inspiration! :)

And here is my card…

I’m sure you are wondering how it ties in with the umbrella.  Well, there are two themes I pulled from the picture – the wings of the butterflies on the umbrella and the round shape.  I was also trying to keep the colors similar, but my pink wings ended up more red than pink and I just had to bring out the yellow of the wand by using yellow designer paper.  *LOL*  But I like the final result so I’m going with it. ;)

BTW – there are two layers to the fairy for extra dimensional goodness.  Oh, and those three sparkly accents are the new Goosebump rhinestones from Queen & Co.  (my favorite new embellishment!).

Hello!  I’m popping in today with a special post!  One of my favorite stampers (and fabulous owner/illustrator for There She Goes clear stamps) is turning a year older this week and bunch of crafty peeps are throwing her a surprise birthday blog hop!   Happy Birthday Jessica K – hope it is a great one!

Of course it wouldn’t be a birthday blog hop without some eye candy!  I used a couple of stamps from TSG to make this card: Make a Wish and Flying By.  I used some pretty new My Mind’s Eye designer paper for the background and the pretty cardstocks are from the new line by Bazzill.

Mother of All Blog Hops!

For my card I used Angel Mail, a mini set including some beautiful angel wings and several uplifting sentiments. 

I stamped the angel wings two times and after coloring both sets I layered them together.  I added just a touch of glitter to the wings and then adhered them to a pink panel using foam dimensionals.  I then tied some pink baker’s twine through a wooden button and adhered to the wings using some liquid glue.

To complete the look of my card I used some delight Echo Park designer paper, added a ton of stitching and finished with some pretty crepe paper trim.  Do you likey?

SCRS Release Day: Mama Charlotte

Hello Dearies -

I’m back today with the third and final preview for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  This time I am using Mama Charlotte – Charlotte is all grown up and has a sweet little one of her own! :)

I used a soft blue/green palette paired with some black for pop!  Charlotte was stamped in black ink on Choice Snow White cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  I used a touch of Spica pen here and there for a touch of glitter.  For embellishment, I pulled out some Graphic 45 trim and a little Prima flower.  I cut a tab out of Soft Sky cardstock using a die from the MFT set: Mini Tabs Quartet.  After cutting I stamped the sentiment that comes with Mama Charlotte on the tab and adhered it to the main panel.  Sentiment says “precious little one.”

SCRS Preview: New Karber set

SCRS Preview: Expecting Emily

Hello everyone!

Today is the first day of previews for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps and we have some delightful sets to share! First up is the new Expecting Emily stamp (she will be available for purchase on Saturday).

I stamped Emily in black ink and colored with Copic markers.  I added a touch of glitter here and there using Copic Spica pens.  After cutting out with an oval die I added dots of Bisque Liquid Pearls along the edge. I embellished the card with some lovely crocheted trim and pink baker’s twine.  The twine was woven through the holes in the trim, threaded through a button and then tied into a bow. :)

Ribbon Carousel and TSG Blog Hop

Hello Crafty Dearies –

Today the Ribbon Carousel is hopping with There She Goes!  It is the best of two worlds – ribbon and TSG stamps! ;)  And there are plenty of fabulous prizes that someone, maybe you, will win.  So make sure to head over to the Ribbon Carousel Blog for all of the details.

TSG just released a bunch of fabulous stamp sets, one of which is Bombdiggity which I used for my extra colorful card.  I love how colorful the little girl turned out… the designer papers?  Not loving them as much. They distract from the blue polka dot afro too much. ;)

I stamped the girl on Choice Snow white cardstock in black ink and then stamped the bomb explosion in yellow ink over it.  I then stamped the little girl a second time, colored, cut out and finally adhered over the first image using dimensionals.  Take a gander at the hair bows… I colored them with a pink marker, coated with Glossy Accents and finished with a dusting of crystal fine glitter.

SCRSC79: May Flowers

Hi Crafty Friends!

I’m checking in today with another Sparkle Creations challenge!  This week we are challenging you to be inspired by May flowers.

For my card I used Daffodil Charlotte and went with a soft and dreamy color scheme using some pretty Authentique designer papers.  I stamped Charlotte in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Choice Snow white cardstock, cut out using a circle die and then colored with Copic markers.  It is a bit obscured in the photo but the sentiment says “thinking of you” and is from a Whipper Snapper cling set (I love the sentiment stamp sets they carry). 

I embellished the card with some vintage seam binding, baker’s twine and a pretty Prima flower.  Of course I had to add a few rhinestones and round a couple of corners… and add some stitching using heavy duty white thread.  lol. ;)
