Yeti Loves Winter

Hello my friends -

Even though this year is almost over the winter season is still going strong. So strong that the yetis are celebrating. Including the little guy on this quick card that I made. Woot! Winter! Yay!

For the layout I used the latest Retro Sketch: #95. The little yeti is from the Lawn Fawn – Yeti, Set, Go set and the designer paper is from the Fancy Pants – Timbergrove paper pad.

The little yet was colored with Copic markers and I added some sparkle to his cheeks using Diamond Stickles. Behind the yeti are some snowflakes that he is juggling. They were stamped with Iced Spruce Distress ink and then embellished with Snow Pearls.

Metal and Music Tags

Hello! Did you survive Christmas? I think I was in a food coma for the next day… so much yummy food. But I bounced back yesterday by doing a bit of post-Christmas shopping. Heh heh.

Since I’ve been busy eating and shopping and spending time with family I neglected to share a couple of tags I made earlier in the month.

These lovelies feature Mélange Tissue Paper and Ornate Plates. I used Gelatos to add color to the tissue paper. Used the

Noel Tag – I used a coordinating die from the Flip-its #2 Circle Card die set to cut out the scalloped border from felt. I then trimmed it with scissors so that the felt would fit on the tag.

Thanks tag is pretty much the same as the Noel tag, just different color and I switched up how I applied the Antique Linen Distress Paint to the Ornate Plate.

Here is a quick walk through of how I created the backgrounds.

Run a manila tag through a Xyron Sticker maker to completely coat with adhesive. Cut a piece of Mélange Tissue Paper a bit larger than the tag. Crumple the tissue up a bit to add wrinkles, flatten back out and then press it onto the tag. Burnish with your fingers to flatten out the wrinkles. Finish by trimming the excess tissue paper.

Scribble here and there with a Gelato crayon.

Mist with water and use a paper towel to blend the Gelato.

For the ornate plate I coated it with Antique Linen Distress Paint and then removed most of it with a paper towel, leaving traces of color in the nooks and crannies. On the second tag, I just coated it with paint and heat set – going for the opposite look.

Merry Christmas!

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse… Wait a minute. Sorry, that clickety clackety sound you hear is me typing up this post. LOL. I just wanted to pop in real quick and wish all of you a Merry Christmas and share a few last minute Christmas cards that I made. :)

These sweet images and sentiments are all from Whipper Snapper Designs. I used the same supplies on each card, but switched up the layouts.

I used Holiday Tommy on this card. All sentiments are from the North Pole Post cling set.

Images were colored with Copics and embellished with Rock Candy Distress Glitter, Glossy Accents, and just a bit of Liquid Appliqué.

Second card features Merry Tweetmas. This images makes me grin big!

And finally, a card using Bird & Stocking. The little snowflakes are covered with Liquid Applique. Chubby birds – too much cute!

Gift Tags and a Closing Sale

Hey Crafty Friends -

As most of you probably know There She Goes is closing shop soon. TSG has been one of my favorite companies to design for over the years. As a farewell, I blogged a bit on the TSG blog yesterday and shared a fun gift tag project. But I wanted to share the project here too:

In the glassine envelopes I have placed a gift card. So these beauties double as a tag and a gift card holder.

Season’s Greetings Tags

Hello everyone -

Been a little quiet on my blog this month but that is because I decided to cut back and chillax during the holidays. Which means less baking, less last minute projects and a whole lot less stress. It is great. I am doing a bit of crafting though – including some gift tags for a few Christmas gifts.

This first set of tags features the Swanky Snowdudes stamp set from Paper Smooches and some delightful Authentique designer papers.

You can also see that I made a couple of matching clothespins (these are super quick and easy). The images were colored with Copics and embellished with a bit of Crystal Stickles.

I liked the first two tags so much that I made another one using some different designer paper arranged into a different pattern. Same stamp sets and embellishments as the first pair of tags.

Here are a few shots of the process:

I started by cutting 1” strips from designer paper that were long enough to cover the width of the tag.  I ran the tag through a Xyron sticker machine so that the entire tag was covered in adhesive. I then covered the tags with the strips, overlapping each of them a bit. I purposely put them on slightly crooked.

Once the tag was completely covered I trimmed off the extra paper, sponged the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and then stamped a sentiment.

Stamped a couple of images, colored and cut them out before attaching them to the tag.  I used a bit of film strip ribbon, washi tape, crkinkle ribbon, and Crystal Stickles to embellish the tag.

For the third tag I cut 2” by 6” strips of designer paper and then cut diagonally to create triangles.

Starting in the bottom right corner I attached the strips until the tag was completely covered. Trimmed the excess paper and then decorated the tag using the same supplies as the first two.

Once done with the tags I decided that I needed some special clothespins to attach the tags to gifts. Since I had some leftover scraps I used those to cover the clothespins. I ran the strips through a small Xyron and then attached them to the pins. I trimmed the excess and sponged with more of the Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

For extra fun, I coated once side of each pin with Crystal Stickles. Me likey.

And finally, here is a picture of how I attached the tags to some gifts. My gift wrap didn’t match so I just broke out a big role of Kraft paper… everything matches Kraft paper, right?
