Celebrate with a Yippee

Hello everyone - 

During Taylored Expression's 10th Birthday Bash a couple of new sets were released

that I illustrated. The first is a set of big balloons called Celebrate Big and the second is small set with a cat and dog called Yippee Critters. These sets were designed to be used together but can also be used separately. 

For my card I paired them together.

I stamped one of the big balloons in Guava ink on white cardstock and cut out with the coordinating die. Instead of stamping a balloon string I used a piece of jute. Since I'm partial to cats I stamped the cat image on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers before cutting with the coordinating die.

For the background I used the Set the Scene - Clouds Stencil Strips and sponged a cloudy sky using Distress Oxide Ink. Once dry I cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I also added a couple strips of designer paper from the Rainbow Brights Paper Pack along the bottom.

I assembled the card using lots of foam tape and attaching the balloon string to the cats hand using Glossy Accents. I also added a few clear jelly rhinestones.

It's a BIG Party!

Hello everyone!

Today is a big day! It's Taylored Expressions 10th birthday! I'm delighted to be joining a group of very talented designers to celebrate the day. You can find all of the details on the Taylored Expression's blog HERE.

And of course it wouldn't be a birthday bash without a birthday card!

I used a couple of stamp sets for this card. I used the fun Party Streamers stamp set to create a rainbow background using various colors of TE stamp pads. I then cut out the panel using the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I also cut out an accent panel from Woodgrain Textured Cardstock (white) using the Stitched Circle Stacklets.

For the main image and sentiment I pulled out one of my favorite critter stamp sets: Peek-a-boo Birthday.

I stamped the cat and party hat with black ink and colored with Copic markers. I accented the images with a white gel pen and cut out with the coordinating dies. The sentiment was stamped in black ink on vellum and attached to the card with the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher (itty bitty staple). I then assembled the card... lots of foam tape was used! ;)

For a final touch I added a few clear jelly rhinestones.
